Paper FastPasses done at Disney's Magic Kingdom

Leah Zanolla | Posted: Jan 14, 2014

Beginning today, January 14, paper FastPasses will not be available at the Magic Kingdom. All Magic Kingdom guests will now be able to utilize FastPass+; previously, it had only been available to Disney resort guests. Offsite guests will need to visit a MyMagic+ kiosk to make their selections when they arrive at the park. If they need to modify any of those selections, that will need to be done at the kiosks as well. Offsite guests will not receive MagicBands, but will use their tickets instead. Walt Disney World resort guests will continue to be able to make their FastPass+ selections in advance and will be able to use the My Disney Experience app or website to make and modify their selections.

In addition to the Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom has also switched to just FastPass+. Hollywood Studios and Epcot are expected to make the switch in the next couple of months.

The most noise comes from chef mickeys. If noise a problem request to be on opposite end.

Two questions&

A) what rm #s is Chef Mickey's below

B) does anyone know which rms in Tower w/ TPV have King bed?

We requested connecting rooms for our family and my in-laws. I also requested that my in-laws be out in a King room. Curious as to how limited the possibility is of this coming through!

Thx very much!

Can you still hear the Wishes music on the in-room TV? I've read that you can on channel 20, but a channel list for Disney resorts shows that is ESPN2.

So we just booked a 1-bedroom at BLT for April 27-May4 - woohoo!!!

Now we did this through RCI so I am told it is a crap shoot in regards to view.

Anyone ever deal with this? I am going to work every angle to try to get us a MK view but is there anything else I should think about?

Do all BLT 1 bedrooms come with a balcony? Any recommendations out there for view?

We are getting ready to book a one bedroom at BLT and I am doing std view. I would love to get room 7420 as I read it offers a mk view. What requests should I ask for when booking to try to get a good view as I have read it's not good to request specific room numbers?!

RCI probably gets lake view. And you will have a balcony off the bedroom with a door from the living room to the balcony as well.

This really stinks! We are coming with my 8 month old in a few weeks and staying in BLT. Is this a new refurb? I hadn't heard of it before? We will be leaving once it's open again. Sadness
As a BLT guest, you can use the splash pad water feature at CR:

Thank you so much! We booked a garden view so at the very least I think that guarantees that we won't have a view of the parking lot at least. :)
With a GW/GV room, your view could be of Bay Lake, the canal or the pool.

There aren't many TPV/King rooms, but I don't know the room numbers. I only know where the Tower Club Level King rooms are.

The TPV rooms above CM end in 25, 26 27… they get larger as you near the MK and BLT. The BLV rooms near CM end in 01, 02, 03… and get larger as they near MK/BLT.

It should still be on 20, but only for the resorts from which you can see Wishes.

Congratulations and I'll log your dates.

If you booked a Standard View One Bedroom at BLT then this thread might help you.

I think our room ended in 48. Once floor 7 and once 12. So lower numbers would be better.

Last May after we arrived in room I realized we didn't get king so I called front desk and they moved us. The manager told me they only had 20 of them.

Just make sure to double check at check in or if see room is wrong just call. They actually recoded our room key and gave me new number over phone. I simply just had to head to our new room without going back to lobby:thumbsup2

Has anyone read about the changes coming to TIW August 2014? We are planning on still purchasing a new card tomorrow but now I am concerned about Blackout Dates during our Thanksgiving trip.

Has anyone read about the changes coming to TIW August 2014? We are planning on still purchasing a new card tomorrow but now I am concerned about Blackout Dates during our Thanksgiving trip.
The changes are additional blacked-out dates for select restaurants and V&A will be excluded from use.

The select restaurants are:

Le Cellier Steakhouse, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, 1900 Park Fare, ‘Ohana (dinner only), Chef Mickey’s, and Cinderella’s Royal Table.

The blackout dates will include: November 23-29, 2014; December 21-27, 2014; March 8-April 4, 2015; and May 31-June 20, 2015.

In addition to these dates, the blackout dates for all participating Tables in Wonderland restaurants will continue to apply. These include Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

I know that Xmas Eve has always been blacked-out, but we were able to use it and no one said anything. We were also able to use it for one meal on Xmas Day because management didn't disallow it. However, on Xmas, after the server brought our final check, he mentioned that they allowed it, but they weren't supposed to. It never hurts to try;)

UGH!!! That pretty much covers our entire Thanksgiving trip except November 22. Does that only exclude the restaurants listed during that week? Then on Thanksgiving Day we can't use TIW at all? How about DVC discount, any restrictions/blackout dates for that card on dining?

What supplies come in the 2 bedroom?
Dish soap? papertowels?
Is there a place to buy ketchup and things like that?
Thanks

Has anyone requested this at CR and had it granted? Not sure if this is something allowed on Disney property! If so, until what time were you allowed to keep your room? Would like to put in a request due to a relatively late flight on departure day!

It all depends on occupancy at the time. Housekeeping has to approve it. If it is approved, you will have until 1PM without charge. If they will approve it until 3PM you will have to pay 1/2 of the nightly rate. Any later than that and you'll have to pay for another night.

Whenever we have had late flights, we have Bell Services hold our bags and we lounge by the pool for the day until it's time to leave for the airport. You can change/shower in the locker room.

If you are staying at BLT, there is no late check out for DVC resorts. They take longer to clean.

I am ridiculously excited that we got a 2 bedroom at BLT for Thanksgiving week (11/23-11/28)!! :woohoo: We are renting DVC points and it had looked like there were none available so I booked the Beach Club 1 bedroom instead. Now we are one night at the BCV and then the BLT! :cool1:It's our first trip as a family of 5 and our twins first trip. Previously with just DD, DH and I we always stayed at a value (which was fine and DD LOVED since it's so over the top on decor)- now we are moving up in the resort world! When both DH and I were kids we dreamed of a stay at the contemporary and now we're as close as you can be! :yay:

Does anyone know if they have cereal granola bars etc in the store at the contemporary
