Are there any tips to getting a garden wing room as close to the Tower as possible? My sister is coming with us and I think it'll be a lot of walking just to get to the bus stop or monorail in the morning! If I could minimize it at all, it would be helpful! I'll do online check in if you think that will help.

We are staying in a Tower Club King room from Jan 27-31st. I am anxious as there are only 2 King rooms on the 14th Floor, one has a tub and one just has a shower. I have requested the room with a tub as I need a tub. The only pictures I can find of the standard rooms on the 14th floor seem to be older. I was wondering if anyone had any updated pictures of any of the standard rooms from the 14th floor. If not then I will add some to the thread when we return :-)

Also, if anyone would like me to take pictures of anything while I am there or check something out for them let me know. :-)

The rooms closest to the Tower in the GW are the Standard View rooms which face the monorail and parking lot and the Garden View rooms which face the pool. With ground floor rooms, you won't have to take an elevator. You could also request a room "close to the Tower." None of the GW rooms though are really very far from the Tower. I'd estimate that the furthest room might be a 3 minute walk and the closest under a minute:confused3

Doing OCI only really allows you to add your credit card in advance so you won't have to do it in person. OCI only allows you to choose from a pre-set list of location options, and sometimes those options aren't even relevant to your booking. Always call the WDTC and have any requests added to your reservation.

I have hyperlinks in the end of the CL/SUITE section with new Tower Club photos, but there is only a link to the King Tower Club room with the shower. There are only two King rooms, both with MKV so knowing that 4911 is the one with the shower, 4912 would be the one with the tub. The post-rehab photos of 4911 are located HERE. But, if you get 4912, it would be great having those photos on the thread, too.

Have a wonderful vacation!

Thanks WDWKOOK, if I get room 4912 I will get pictures and post them for you :-)

Another Garden Wing question.....we just recently switched from the GF to CR garden wing for our July trip. With the exception of no balconies, are the rooms identical to those in the tower? We are trying to decide if we want to bump ourselves over to the tower or not. Thanks!

I only read this on the DIS so not sure if it's 100% accurate, but I have read that Disney is no longer accepting AAA discounts.

From asking on here and my TA, you can get AAA room-only discounts at Disney still. The catch is that no packages can be added through Disney, so no dining plan. You can book direct with AAA, though, and get a package.

We really want the DDP, so we will just stay with what we have.

The rooms are the same. The tower is nice because you feel like you are part of the action! Close to food, shops and monorail. However the convenience of being near the beach and pool area are plusses for the GW. Also that area is more relaxed.

If a balcony is important though then go with the Tower. I thought I would mind not having a balcony on my GV stay but I just put a chair in front of the window and that worked fine for my morning coffee.

Good luck deciding!

Thanks for the info, of course that would be going on during our trip. But I think the weather next week might be too cold.

From what I have heard, Disney and AAA are ending their affiliation...so I think they AAA members just won't get those added bonuses anymore.

Can you please tell me if there is a way to request a certain floor in the Tower, MK view?

The lowest floor is the 5th floor - isn't there where the monorail goes by - on the MK view side? Do you hear the monorail whooshing by?

Are the views of the MK pretty good from the 5th floor?

This is what shows up for online check in:

The odd numbered rooms on MK view will give you a view of the castle from your bed. :goodvibes

You can call CRO and put a note in there. J

Also you can make a request at check in too. I wanted a king bed last May which is not a bookable category or an option at checkin.

I had a 7th floor room once and loved the view from there.

Also the MKV rooms on same side as monorail so you can't see it from your door/hallway.

The most noise comes from chef mickeys. If noise a problem request to be on opposite end.

Hi everyone-- we are staying at CR for the first time later this year. Right now we are booked in a lake view room in the tower. Any advice for a quiet room request?

My husband likes Poly, but we are nervous about construction. I've always wanted to try CR, so hoping to make it a nice getaway for him too.

thanks!

I am waiting for the May Calendar of all the parades at WDW. My family will have a Dedicated 2BR, Bay Lake View, at Bay Lake Tower. Won't know if it will be Room, xx02, xx05, xx17, xx29, or xx41, or xx12 on the 11th to 14th Floor yet until Check-in on May 4th.

What about odd numbered rooms in the Garden Wing section? Would would those be views of?
What I've seen on the 2009 Contempoary map, the rooms in the Garden wing are not in Odd or Even, but will have view of the pool, the water bridge, Bay Lake, and the parking lot, depending on where in the Garden Wing the room is.

Actually, the lowest floor on the MK side of the Tower is the 6th floor. The concourse is on floor 4 and the monorail platform is on floor 5. The last time I stayed at the CR (about 5 year ago), I was on the 6th floor. You could not hear the monorail but the room did vibrate as the resort monorail passed underneath the room.

Thank you so much! We booked a garden view so at the very least I think that guarantees that we won't have a view of the parking lot at least. :)
