Hey herc...good to see you. Will pray for a smooth and safe move for you. Glad there'll be another one of us on the East Coast! Hope you'll like it!

Michelle....how's your Grandfather? Oh....hope you'll still be able to get together w/ Jill and family.....they are some of the nicest people we have met. DH was saying just last night that he forgets that they are only in PA and we really should go down and see them.....sounds good to me:D :bounce: :D

Hey guys, I just wanted to let you all know that my Grandpa is coming home from the hospital as I type this. :) Thank you all so much for your prayers, you'll never know how much they meant to me and my family. Please continue to pray that he will have a full recovery.

Ed, it's always a pleasure to see your name show up. :sunny: I hope you guys have a safe and uneventful move to Virginia. You know our prayers go with you. :)

I think I will sing a song before I go.

This Love/Margaret Becker

Not much heart left to break
When Your love came my way
I wrapped myself in walls of steel
Begged my heart not to feel
But as if it knew
It ran straight to You
Jumped right into Your arms
There was nothing I could do

This Love
This Love
Oh the healing
This love
This love
Tell me, Tell me
Where would I go
What would I do
Without Your love

Not much reason to cry
Now that there's You and I
I wrapped my dreams up in You
There they'll stay
Till time is through
Cause I can't let go
No, I won't break free
Of this loving hold
That You have over me

This Love
This Love
Oh the healing
This love
This love
Tell me, Tell me
Where would I go
What would I do
Without Your love

Where would I go
How could I live
What would I do
Tell me, tell me
Where would I go

This Love
This Love
Oh the healing
This love
This love
Tell me, Tell me
Where would I go
What would I do
Without Your love

Great news, Michelle! Been thinking about you and your grandfather, so glad to hear it wasn't too serious. I know these events cause us to fear and feel helpless, but it is so good to remember that God is near, an ever present help in trouble. Blessings to you and your family. :) Psalm 46:1-2

Woohooo Michelle!! I am sooo glad that your grandpa came home! Thank you Lord!!
:)

hi

Small heads up:4th of July weekend will be a year since the flooding

/
Hi Chip! :) Love that song and scripture! It's good to see you.

CS, what flood are you talking about?

I am very happy your Grandpa is home michelle.

I am driving cross country tomorrow to buy a new home.

Here is a good word for everyone.

Romans 8:38
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present. nor things to come, nor anything else, in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

and

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.
--Philippians 4:8

These just came to mind. I hope they speak to someone.

Have a great day

Oh, so it is appropriate for this thread pretend I am singing the verses.

Sorry if this has already been discussed here or if I have already mentioned it.

Did you know that "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me is the very first song that mentions Jesus to make it on the secular top 40 charts? I just find this amazing.

According to the most current R&R Magazine:
#19 Adult Contemporary chart
#39 CHR/POP chart
(I'll admit that I don't have a clue what CHR stands for, but I know it is not Christian)

Thanks again everyone for your prayers. My Grandpa is still doing great. :)

Heather- It's so good to see you here again. You always have something wonderful to add. {{{hugs}}} :)

Herc- Praying for your safety as you travel. Thanks for the scriptures you posted, they are both excellent. :)

chellnjr- I didn't know that about "I can only imagine", thanks for sharing that info. I've never heard it on a secular station down here but other Christian songs that I have heard were played with Jesus' name removed from the lyrics which is sad, what wonderful news if this one made it on mainstream radio intact! :)

I had a fantastic time at Downtown Disney with Jill (Hemi-mom), Dan (dadsagoof) (btw Dan, we really miss our daily cup of Keaggy around here) and their 3 sons, Danny, Michael and Jonathan. We had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe' and explored DTD a bit. We did try to call someone, I won't name any names, fur, ahem, but even though they weren't home we had a great time! I took pictures so I will post some as soon as I get them developed. :)

Holiness, holiness
Is what I long for
Holiness is what I need
Holiness, holiness
Is what You want from me

Righteousness, righteousness
Is what I long for
Righteousness is what I need
Righteousness, righteousness
Is what You want from me

Faithfulness, faithfulness
Is what I long for
Faithfulness is what I need
Faithfulness, faithfulness
Is what You want from me

So take my heart and form it
Take my mind and transform it
Take my will and conform it
To Yours, To Yours, Oh Lord
To Yours, To Yours, Oh Lord

Tomorrow, Monday, June 30th, my older son, David leaves for a five week mission trip to India. I've been very calm about this and really feel that God has something special planned for him. I just pray that he will be open to God's leading in his choice of a vocation.

My Dad is now home from the hospital with his pacemaker now ticking away. It was a very scary few days. Of course, my soon-to-be-ex chose that time to show up at my house, plopped himself down and wanted to "talk". He started crying, saying that he had hurt his best friend. I explained that that wasn't all he had done (his walking out on me hurt, but his abandoning our sons for his personal happiness was and still is the most difficult thing for me to understand). I basically explained to him that I was too emotionally raw and exhausted to get into this right now.

Anyway, this morning in church, we had no sermon. Just a lot of praise songs, prayers, and testimonies. What an uplifting service!

Here's one of the songs:

CALL ON JESUS

Nicole C. Mullen - CALL ON JESUS
From the album - TALK ABOUT IT
Label - Word (2001)

I’m so very ordinary
Nothing special on my own
I have never walked on water
I have never calmed a storm
Sometimes I’m hiding away from the madness around me
Like a child who’s afraid of the dark

chorus:
But when I call on Jesus
All things are possible
I can mount on wings like eagles and soar
When I call on Jesus
Mountains are gonna fall
‘Cause He’ll move heaven and earth to
Come rescue me when I call

Weary brother
Broken daughter
Widowed, widowed lover
You’re not alone
If you’re tired and scared
Of the madness around you
If you can’t find the strength to carry on

(chorus)

Call Him in the mornin’
In the afternoon time
Late in the evenin’
He’ll be there
When your heart is broken
And you feel discouraged
You can just remember that He said
He’ll be there

(chorus)

Have a wonderful week!

In Him,
Edie

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests by made known to God." Phillippians 4:7

Edie, I will be praying for your son's safety and you will continue to be in my prayers. {{{hugs}}}

I love that song you posted so much! I haven't heard it in such a long time, thanks so much for singing it!

Your service sounds wonderful, sometimes those are just the kind we need, so uplifting for the soul. :)

Edie, I will pray!! :)

Michelle, um, can you get your pictures developed Already??!! :p

Chell, Hi! :) I had heard that about I can only Imagine. I love that song! :)
Good to see you.

How lovely is your dwelling place
Oh Lord Almighty
For my soul longs and even faints for You
For here my heart is satisfied
Within your presence
I sing beaneth the shadow of Your wings

Better is one one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
than thousands elsewhere

One thing I ask and I would seek
To see Your beauty
To find You in the place Your glory dwells
One thing I ask and I would seek
To see Your beauty
To find You in the place Your glory dwells.

Better is one one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
than thousands elsewhere

My heart and flesh cry out
To You the living God
Your spirit is water to my soul
I've tasted and I've seen
Come once again to me
I will draw near to You
I will draw near to You

Better is one one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
than thousands elsewhere
Better is one day in Your courts
better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
than thousands elsewhere

Better is one day

Michelle, I knew you would have a great time with Jill and family! Glad you were able to get together this time! Waiting for the pics....

Love "I can only imagine", but it was sung at the funeral of a friends DH last summer....now it reminds me of that......still a great song though!!

Received an e-mail late last night. Only two words, but they gave me a whole lot of relief. The news from the India mission trip was "Safe Arrival" -- That means DS#1 is in Calcutta and working in one of Mother Theresa's orphanages. I can hardly believe that he is so far away, but I know that God has a deep and divine purpose for this trip. So, I'm singing:

HALLELUJAH (YOUR LOVE IS AMAZING)

Phillips, Craig & Dean – HALLELUJAH (YOUR LOVE IS AMAZING)
From the album – LET YOUR GLORY FALL
Label – Sparrow (2002)

Your love is amazing
Steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain
Firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery
How You gently lift me
When I am surrounded
Your love carries me

Your love is surprising
I can feel it rising
All the joy that’s growing
Deep inside of me
And every time I see You
All Your goodness shines through
And I can feel this God song rising up in me

chorus:
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Your love makes me sing
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
Your love makes me sing

Your love is surprising
I can feel it rising
All the joy that’s growing
Deep inside of me
Every time I see You
All Your goodness shines through
I can feel this God son rising up in me

Have a wonderful holiday, everyone!

In Him,
Edie

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests by made known to God." Phillippians 4:7

My prayers are with your son, Edie. God be with him during his mission. And good to hear about your grandpa, Michelle, good news. And blessings with you too, Herc.

And for our national day of Independence..

God Bless America

God Bless America.
Land that I love
Stand beside her, and guide her
Thru the night with a light from above.
From the mountains, to the prairies ,
To the oceans, white with foam
God bless America
My home sweet home.

God Bless America,
Land that I love
Stand beside her,
And guide her,
Through the night
With the light from above,
From the mountains,
To the prairies,
To the ocean,
White with foam,
God bless America,
My home sweet home.
God bless America,
My home sweet home.

--Irving Berlin

HEY ALL!!!

Edie! So good to hear about your son's safe arrival and I know that the Lord will be doing great things through him on this trip! That song you posted above is one of my favorites! His love IS truly amazing and makes me SING!!!!

herc, so good to see you here and I'll be praying as you move! Thanks for posting the scripture...it doesn't have to be set to music!! You can post the word of God ANYTIME!

stamper...I'll be sending you a check for that huge amount of money I owe you for posting that me and my family are so nice! ;) We would LOVE to have you guys visit us in PA! Or else we'll just have to plan another trip to Maine...I don't think the boys would mind that! :) I'll be in touch!

FUR! How's the new job! Can't wait to hear about it. Boochelle and I wondered if you were working when we called. I still think we shoulda sung to you "It's a Small World" or something but we were in a public place and people woulda stared and throwed tomatoes and stuff! I didn't have my guitar anyway...:)

Well, this post could only mean we're back from HOT Florida! Got in late last night...practically today since it was about ten til midnight when we walked through the door!! Been a long day getting unpacked and straightened up. Busy day tomorrow with a 90th Bday party for my Great Aunt and then having some folks back here since my Great Aunt lives just a hop, skip and jump from me! Who cares if I just got home from being away...I love having people over! :D

We had a fabulous time in WDW!!!! I'll have to do a mini trip report if you all don't mind the diversion...yes? No? Well here it goes anyway...We stayed a week offsite with my family and my brother, SIL and their 7 kids!!! We hit all the parks and had a great time as it was their first trip and we got to be the "experts"! We also hit Sea World and my niece Jess got to feed one of the whales and be up on the BIG SCREEN...we got it all on video. SHe is a HUGE animal fan, majoring in wildlife conservation where she just got straight A's in her second semester. (side note: prayers for Jess are appreciated at this time for a struggle she is currently battling...she has a strong developing faith) The week went by too fast though and boy was it HOT...but not as bad as I have experienced in the past. Besides after the LACK of Spring weather we've had we needed to have some warmth! My brother and his family left Saturday and we met with the Princess (Boochelly that is) and had a great afternoon! Danny talked her ear off...sorry Michelle. We have pics on a digital and so we should be able to post some tonight I hope... still getting used to the camera. BTW Michelle...Jonathan already broke his toy Monorail... Drove down to Sarasota to stay at a friend's and got FRIED at the beach. We had lotion but I guess the sun is just stronger down there than what we are used to. We learned quickly! All in all the trip was super...as we were taking off last night I looked over at Michael and he was crying...he didn't want to leave Florida! Of course...who likes coming home from vacation!

Thanks for enduring the "detour". You know I'll be singing too...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Over the mountains and the sea
Your river runs with love for me
So I will open up my heart and let the healer set me free
I'm happy to be in the truth
So I will daily lift my hands
For I will always sing of when Your love came down, yeah

I could sing of Your love forever
I could sing of Your love forever
I could sing of Your love forever
I could sing of Your love forever
