Where does Disney get your number or address? When I check my disney.com account it simply has my email address.

I got SOOOOOOO excited when the phone rang this afternoon from a 212 area code. I picked up the phone, repeating, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" Only to hear some guy trying to sell me a home security system. I was so disappointed that I just hung up. :sad1:

I keep going back and forth about which one to pick if we have a choice. I want to stay at the GC but I know my boys would love the Disneyland hotel and pool. I think for 5 days of walking the closer GC will win out though. I can't wait to find out what our options are going to be! :)

YOu make a good point about the pool, but don't overlook the amazing "Cool Factor" of walking directly into the park from your hotel. My kids thought they were the bomb when they walked out of the elevator, made a left walked about 50 yards and straight into DCA... it is awesome!

A FedEx truck went by our house about an hour ago. Secretly hoping it was for our house but no such luck :sad2:

I know I should probably start this thread elsewhere on the DIS, but since it kind of relates to winning the trip, I thought I would start it here, and see what kind of answers I get...

So, it has to do with the Dining Plans. I have been reading the DL website about the dining plans. We have a $1000 as part of the prize. If I had my way, we would do the Princess meal (bummed it's no longer dinner), and Goofy's Kitchen, Minnie's Breakfast, and something for World of Color (which leads me to another question further below). If you get the DP for 2,3, or 4 days, for a set price, does that include Character meals (including Premium Character meals)? ....

The DL dining plan is a mess and can be confusing. Let me try to simplify it somewhat.

With the plan you get "vouchers" that are supposed to provide 2 meals and a snack per day. Unlike WDW dining plan where the creds let you order any entree, etc the DL voucher has a $$ value. So yes, you can use it to go to character meal, but if that meal costs you more than the $$ value of your voucher you have to pay the difference. The vouchers are nothing more than gift certificates... and if you go over you owe money but if you go under the value you get nothing back!

There is really no reason at all for you to do this plan. The only real advantage it provides is you can prepay for meals (sort of), but since you are going to have a $1000 gift card in hand just use it and go do what you want. Less hassle, and same or better result.

Just call ahead and book your character dining though, so you know you will get it! Have fun! :thumbsup2

<EDIT> Just found a great page on this at the Disney Food Blog
http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/disneyland-dining-plans/

good to note that it doesn't sound like you can use the vouchers anywhere but in DL... so no resort restaurants, DTD, etc..

Dear Ventura Associates,

I will gladly volunteer to be the DIS winner for the week. You can pick my boyfriend, too, if you want :) I'm sure he would bring me along!

Love,
Stephanie :hippie:

Thanks for the clarification. That really helps. We always make reservations for the character meals, so I won't forget to do that.

Thank you ALL, so much great information in the thread!!!

I missed a call on my cellphone last night... From NY. It was a 516 area code, so I think I"m safe. (I totally missed the call and was a little worried/upset!!)

I also went to check my information on my disney account. oh my gosh!!! It had my address from 3 years ago, an inactive email account... No flipping wonder I've not gotten any pins!! All updated now. xD

Congrats to all the winners!! So many more days to go. *keeps her fingers crossed*

I got 2 calls in 2 days from a 516 area code! Except it's a robot asking me about a magazine :sad2:

Does anyone know of any other sweepstakes that offers a Disney trip? I'm now officially obsessed with winning one! :sad2:

Tried to goto Disneyworld.com and check my profile and everything is blank, when I go to fill in my information and submit it, I get an Unexpected Error, please try again. Has this happened to anyone else? If I call reservations, they can see the profile, but I can't change anything...frustrating!

I was having a similar problem... when i was using safari. I tried foxfire and it seemed to fix the issue...

Can somebody help me with this: this is the prize to Disneyland.

...a five (5) day/four (4) night trip to visit Disneyland ® Park (“Trip 2”), consisting of the following elements for the Group: [a] hotel accommodations for four (4) nights; 5-Day Park Hopper® Tickets ****[c] a Disney Gift Card with a value of one thousand dollars($1,000); [d] winner’s choice of one(1) of the Enhancements; (i) Disney’s PhotoPass® - including one (1) Disney’s PhotoPass® Book, one (1) Disney’s PhotoPass® CD and other select Disney’s PhotoPass® offerings; (ii) Select Disney Tours with a value up to $500. Restrictions apply; (iii) one (1) Downtown Disney shopping spree with a value of up to $500 or (iv) relaxing Spa experiences with a value up to $500

I thought we were set on the $500 DTD shopping spree. My thinking is, I can buy a PhotoPass CD for $60 (unless they've raised the price since I bought one in 2010), and print pictures at home and I am not going to DL to waste time getting a massage. But, my husband has asked at work about enhancement (ii) and been told a couple of things, like it gets you a personal CM for the day who will get you to the fronts of lines, shortcuts thru the park, and some behind the scenes stuff. Jumping lines vs. having $500 to spend on stuff? I know if I stand in line I will eventually get to the front, so that doesn't really do much for me. DH says (ii) could be a once in a lifetime thing, so it could be worth it.

So, I'm wondering, does anybody know what enhancement (ii) really is?

Debby

For those of you entering on-line, are you asked to log-in each time? I am only asked to log-in once a week or so. Every other time I hit the "enter now" button and then the "Congratulations, you've been entered" message appears. I'm worried that it can't be that easy and that a whole bunch of my entries have not been valid.

I am often logged in on the Walt Disney World website. That may very well be the reason that I'm not required to log-on every day. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.

Tried IE and Firefox, same result. Went to disneyworld.com, disneyland.com and disneycruise.com and tried to update profile on each one and each time it gave me an unexpected error. We've used each website for travel in the past so I have no idea why I can't update my profile on any of the sites.
I'm hoping somewhere in the system is my address so the FedEx man can come my way ;-)
