Can somebody help me with this: this is the prize to Disneyland.

...a five (5) day/four (4) night trip to visit Disneyland ® Park (“Trip 2”), consisting of the following elements for the Group: [a] hotel accommodations for four (4) nights; 5-Day Park Hopper® Tickets ****[c] a Disney Gift Card with a value of one thousand dollars($1,000); [d] winner’s choice of one(1) of the Enhancements; (i) Disney’s PhotoPass® - including one (1) Disney’s PhotoPass® Book, one (1) Disney’s PhotoPass® CD and other select Disney’s PhotoPass® offerings; (ii) Select Disney Tours with a value up to $500. Restrictions apply; (iii) one (1) Downtown Disney shopping spree with a value of up to $500 or (iv) relaxing Spa experiences with a value up to $500

I thought we were set on the $500 DTD shopping spree. My thinking is, I can buy a PhotoPass CD for $60 (unless they've raised the price since I bought one in 2010), and print pictures at home and I am not going to DL to waste time getting a massage. But, my husband has asked at work about enhancement (ii) and been told a couple of things, like it gets you a personal CM for the day who will get you to the fronts of lines, shortcuts thru the park, and some behind the scenes stuff. Jumping lines vs. having $500 to spend on stuff? I know if I stand in line I will eventually get to the front, so that doesn't really do much for me. DH says (ii) could be a once in a lifetime thing, so it could be worth it.

So, I'm wondering, does anybody know what enhancement (ii) really is?

Debby

When I read that, I assumed that you would get the opportunity to do one (or more) of these tours: http://disneyland.disney.go.com/tours/

But maybe your H's coworker is right that they set you up with the "VIP Tour Services" package that is listed: Our dedicated VIP Tour Services team is available to customize and guide your Disneyland Resort vacation so you can spend your time playing, not planning.

You may want to email them to get a clear answer.

I thought it was one or more of those tours too. I find it hard to believe that they offer something that lets you jump ahead of lines. That just doesn't seem fair to everyone else (I guess if you pay for it though, all's fair). I don't think Ventura knows what the tour enhancement is. I may have to wait until the prize fulfillment people contact me.

I'm still leaning toward the $500 shopping spreeeeeee.

I am well-schooled from this thread as to what to look for, so knew this letter was not "it". However, I thought it was nice. Yesterday, we got a very colorful and pretty thank you card from Disney for our recent stay. We've never received one before. What a nice gesture ! The card is so pretty that I actually think I'll hang it up.

Hmmm, I just assumed that it meant several tours up to $500. I never even considered this. My boys are young so they don't have the patience for tours, but if they'll offer us this, we'll definitely take it! I'm somehow thinking it won't be an option though.

We were also planning on taking the DTD shopping spree. I don't know how they'll work it and I wonder if we can save some of the money for DTD in Florida. I just know my boys are going to want a bunch of Lego then we'll have to mail it home. I'd much rather use it at DTD in Florida since we drive to WDW. It's kind of making me crazy not knowing what our options are going to be. I'm so anxious and want to plan the entire trip now!!! :yay:

I am often logged in on the Walt Disney World website. That may very well be the reason that I'm not required to log-on every day. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same experience.

That is the reason! If you go to the Disney World website and log out, the sweepstakes site will make you log in. I noticed this when I had been logged into the Disney Movie rewards site under my husband's email. So, the entry got put in with his info instead of mine. When I went to the Disney World site it showed him logged in. Once I logged him out, it let me enter.

I know what you mean about wanting to know all the details now! It's driving me crazy. We'd really like some info to tell the family we are going with. We haven't even told them we've won yet! We want to be able to tell them what hotel we can stay in, and what this means for them traveling with us. We'd already been planning DLH, but it will still be an added expense for the other family if Disney allows us to book the GC.

And I want a definitive answer about the tour. I still think DTD shopping spree would be way more awesome. Perhaps you can have shipping Legos back to your home included in the spree. I thought I read somewhere (but I've been reading a lot, so I may be imagining this) that whatever you don't spend on the shopping spree and $1000 just goes away. But again, I don't know if I am making this up, or if I did read it.

so when I login to disney's website on safari it has my old address. I tried updating it a few days ago and it wouldnt work on safari so I used foxfire and it updated fine. today I logged into the site via safari and it still had my old address... but when i logged in with foxfire it had my correct info? So in the extremely small chance we win... I hope they have the right info? Anyone know how i can check?

Thank you for putting my mind at ease! I would hate to think that all of those entries weren't counted.

You are definitely going to find out quicker than most of us (lucky you :thumbsup2 ) but IF the tour service is offered, which I personally doubt, that tour runs $150/hour, so with the $500 cap, you won't get a very long service. The real question about the prize is does it mean $500 total or $500 per person? :goodvibes

<EDIT> BTW, that was a joke... $500 person.... woohoo! You could do a tour every day at DL on that!

I would love to have some answers soon too. We are going to go with the DD Disney shopping spree but we are planning to add a few days on to the end of our trip. Do you think we will have to do our shopping spree before the end of our prize stay or do you think we could do it at the end of our trip? My kids like to take their time to decide on what purchases they want to make. They always shop all week and at the end of our trip do their purchases. :upsidedow

I was kind of hoping we'd just get $500 for DTD, to be used whenever during the trip. My worst fear is that it's like Supermarket Sweep and we get a time limit, so we're all rushing around and get $500 worth of absolute crap.

I shop all week too, unless there is something I absolutely have to have. I know there is a pin trading store in DTD at DL, so I am thinking I'll be getting my new lanyard there, and would love to do that at the beginning of the week, without having to spend the other $491.05 right then.

When, oh when, will we find out more details???

The suspense is killing me.......I am a super planner. lol Although I have my eye on a new Disney Dooney so that will take a huge chunk of my Disney shopping money anyway. :lmao: The rest my kids and husband are splitting between the three of them. I never buy stuff for myself when we are there so this is my special treat to myself for winning!

I know, I do feel so utterly lucky to have won. Thanks for the info about the tour price. $500 wouldn't go far for that tour. $500 at DTD, that would go far... $500 per person? as if the trip wasn't amazing enough, that would be ULTRAmazing! I just made up a word.

Hey- did you all see I made a signature for myself? Took forever, but I now feel so hip and cool with all my DL trips listed.

Very Cool! :thumbsup2 I tried to do that on mine but I was getting confused what year we stayed here and what year we stayed there. I gave up and condensed it to Trip # 14 :lmao: My memory is getting worse as inch toward 40 :scared1:

I'm a planner too, and going with another family is making the suspense worse. We are meeting with the other family next weekend to tell them we've won, and I would love to have more info to give them. We were all going to drive originally, so now we need to tell them we are flying and ask if they want to fly too. We were looking at DLH, and need to tell them we may just be staying at GC, and ask if they mind paying for the hotel upgrade. We are hoping to make it up to them some by taking them to a character meal, and buying them a few souvenirs (I, of course, want to get starter pin sets/lanyards for their girls). I was also thinking about doing the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique for our daughter and their oldest (4). I don't think their 2 yo would like it, and my son does not need the Prince Pampering.

I usually get a new hat when we go, but I don't think I'll ever find a hat to love as much as my apple green Disney hat with the 'patch' of Mickey in a hammock. The last time we went I also got a pink DL hoodie with a plaid patchwork design inside the hood. I love that jacket.

My husband has already joked with me that I can't spend the $1000 on Mickey ice cream bars and churros!

My husband and I were joking about the snacks too. Except we would want to spend it all on Dole Whips and Schoolbread! rofl

It's not inching toward 40 that's doing, it's MOM-BRAIN. The 40 train left my station a couple years ago, but my memory started going south when I had my daughter 7 1/2 years ago. Sometimes I think my husband takes advantage of my memory issues by insisting I said something that I know I didn't say.

You'll notice I did not list the places I stayed from 1978-2000. I don't remember where we stayed on all the trips I took from the first one through Grad Nite. I do remember on my first trip, wanting to go to DL, and my friend's parents (her dad, actually) took us to some crappy military museum. What 10 year old girl wants to go to a military museum/army surplus store??? I also figured I probably shouldn't list every single day trip I went with a boy other than my husband...

At what point do I get to add a ticker to my siggy? As soon as we have a date nailed down, I want to get a countdown going. I should do one in days so I can tell my daughter when she asks, and one translated into night-nights for when my son asks.

I can't wait to get my ticker going too. We always do a countdown chain with the kids that we hang on the fireplace. I think we are going to make a new kind this year. There have been some super cute ones on Pinterest lately. The one I want will require a few Mickey Head paint cards from the Home Depot though. :rolleyes1

Can anyone tell me what the area code would be if they were trying to contact you by phone to tell you that you were a winner and what the Caller ID came across as? Sorry if this was already posted.

Thanks
houndmom

I love Pinterest. I hadn't thought about any kind of countdown chain for the kids to do. I'll have to do a search on Pinterest.

Before I recently repainted our master bedroom, I was pulling paint chips at HD. I pulled Eeyore's Raincloud, which was a great color, but I thought I might be embarrassed to tell anyone the name of the color.
