Chase Disney Visa and Fraud

Oh great. I got two emails from Chase that were in my junk folder. The address looked legit but the link to verify/update or whatever was blocked at work. I will have to get on and check it again. Love the DIS! Thanks for the heads up!!! ::yes::

Never log into your bank/cc account by clicking a link in an email. Always type the link into your browser. Scam emails can disguise the link you click on or send you to look-alike sites. Especially be careful of emails that say they need you to verify something right away and give you a link to log in -- always go directly to the bank website or call the bank. And like others have mentioned, always call the number on the back of your card and not a number given in an email.

We've had a card compromised once, and our bank was quick to shut it down. They noticed the fraud before we did, and we got a phone call to check on the recent transactions. It was taken care of quickly. They've also called to confirm large online purchases, especially electronics. This is why I never use my debit card for anything anymore, though.

Happened to us last year DURING our disney trip. My husband had them cancel the card and didn't tell me. He arranged to have a new one sent to our house.

I was at DTD buying stuff with it when it was declined.

I called my husband to tell him and that's when he told me he had it cancelled an hour before due to fraud activity. I was pretty peeved at him for not calling me!

I ended up paying by room charge and then also had to stop by the reservation desk to get that changed to another credit card since that is how we were paying for the vacation.

We just noticed last week we were missing $400 in our rewards chase account. I called and they said they have a $600 transaction that they are investigating. It certainly wasn't us. Hope they reimburse us. Lot of money spent to get those $400! :confused3

very good point. The day Chase tired to contact me about the fraud on the Amazon card they e-mailed me and left a message at my home. I called the number on the back of the card rather than use the one they left me; can't be too careful.

Saturday we received cards to replace husband's expiring Chase Disney Rewards card. I thought it odd that I never received new ones since I opened my account before his. I looked in wallet and mine expired in March 2014! I have used it a few times--usually use different card with better rewards program. I called to ask for replacement and they said they had to close my account and open new acct# since other card never reached me. I would guess if no one had done anything since when they said it was mailed in February it has not fallen into wrong hands.
I am impressed with their proactive fraud prevention.
