Celebrating my Un-Birthday Disney Style-April 2010-New 5/3 - The TR has started!

Great pictures in Epcot!! There are so many things we have missed in the WS that I hope to finally see this year.:thumbsup2

YAY! for Zach reaching 48 inches!!:yay:

I'm just noticing your ticker! Is it new? I think I'm a bit behind on your TR so maybe you mentioned it over there... You will love Halloween at Disney & CBR - we've done both in two different years. :thumbsup2

Last year we spent some time in the WS and we now have some favorites that we need to go back and revisit - plus we have some new things on our list!

It is new but it's so, so far away!! Right now, we're crossing our fingers for a good pincode or discount to come out for this coming October and we could hopefully go sooner! I'm hoping for some pixie dust. :goodvibes Halloween at Disney and CBR just sounds like a lot of fun!

Really great pictures of Epcot. :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to taking our time in the WS on our couple's only trip. There's still so much we haven't had a chance to see.

Beautiful pix of Epcot.

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Make sure you keep saving itineraries on the WDW website... I hear that's the trick!

I think I would spend a ton of time at Epcot on a couples only trip!

Amy...I'm still here...I promise to get caught up w/ you tomorrow

Read when you have time... You know where to find me. :goodvibes

I'm back...and caught up...

first...I'm not sure I can tour w/ a fanny back lady....:rotfl2: JK! and you have one major DISmeet in the works ;)

thanks for the great pictures again and your wonderful sentiments about Disney and why it is so special for families w/ autism...I try to convey this to my non-Disney loving friends and family and why we'll save yr and after yr and pack back yr and yr to have this 8-10 days of family :grouphug:

can't wait to talk bags and shoes...a couple of my favorite topics. I'm already debating what shoes should I wear in Nov?

I just scraped a page of Sergio w/ Aldine over the weekend...I highly recommend to all of Amy's readers do take time to experience the street performers in WS they are amazing and you never know what new MAGIC will occur.

Hi Julie!!

I know... the fanny pack... :sad2: I was browsing Vera backpacks today at the mall... if I can figure out some sort of solution for the glasses I might be able to get past the fanny pack. ;) I'm sure there will be more bag talk coming up! :thumbsup2

As far as shoes - I'm just waiting for a pair of shoes that I ordered to arrive in the mail - then the discussion can begin! :cool1:

Thanks for taking the time to catch up!

Hi Amy! I always love your flashback pictures!

Good for Zach for reaching the "all-important" 48 INCHES!! Yee-Ha!

Love the pics of the street performers in WS. We were able to take the time to see quite a few of them this past trip...but we missed the chair guy in France and the juggler in Italy! They're going on the list for next time!

Oh man.....troll hunting in Norway! I so wanted to do that this time, but no luck! Are they scattered all over or just in the garden?

Thanks Missy! Yes - 48 inches is a huge milestone! It seems like just yesterday that Alex was trying to reach it! He wasn't tall enough during our 2007 trip, but made it for our trip last year.

I saw several street performers in 2008 with my mom - we were there on a Monday. Our first Epcot day last year was also a Monday, but we mostly visited FW. I think our second Epcot day was a Saturday... based on the entertainment schedule I've been looking at (Steve Soares), most of the entertainers we would want to see aren't there on Saturdays. Oops! I think our Thursday visit this year will be timed better to see Miyuki, the candy lady & Sergio, the juggler. :thumbsup2

The troll hunting was hard! We only spotted 3 or 4. We thought the trolls were just in the one garden area, but if I remember correctly I found out after the fact, that they were all over Norway? If anybody out there knows about that let me know! I think Norway is one of the KP missions - maybe I can request that one so I can hunt for trolls while Zach & I try to save Norway. :confused3

Last spring we enjoyed Epcot more than ever before! Here are some of the highlights:

Yes - The first three pictures are from our first day - the day you would have been there. :thumbsup2 We hunted down that Kaki Gori first thing, then Garden Grill was a little later at dinner and finally, the SSE picture was when we left the park to head over to MK.

The rest of the pictures are from our second Epcot day at the end of the week.

I wish we could have met too - if I had it to do over again I definitely would have made sure it happened. Oh well...

Kaki Gori sounds really good! We've never tried it though. Where can you find it in WS? I love the cleaning of the plate in Teppan Edo. Funny!

I remember reading your report last year and seeing how much fun you had... I am sure you will have a great trip in 2010 too!!! So exciting! We have never had the shaved ice, will have to try that! We did try Yakatori House for lunch and really enjoyed that!

There's a little Kaki Gori stand in Japan - more on the USA side of Japan. You should definitely try one - they are so good. :thumbsup2

I think Japan is probably our favorite country... our best memories from last year are all from Japan. Kaki Gori, Teppan Edo & we did our KP mission there too! :cool1:

That's such a nice picture of you two!

Are you planning another date night the next time around?

Kathy

Yes we are! I had originally made an ADR for Friday night at Le Cellier for just me & Tim. We thought that would be the best night for Jeff, Karen & the big kids to babysit. (We figured they would offer so I thought it was best to have an ADR lined up to avoid what happened last year.:rolleyes1)

But now DMIL is joining us so we have scheduled a date night for Tuesday night so she can babysit before Jeff & family arrive - we don't want to miss any of the time with them if we can get out earlier in the week. Unfortunately I can't get Le Cellier for that night! :headache: I still have the Thursday ADR so I may try to work a trade. I still have an extra Chef Mickey's available too... I'll have to hop over to the Cancel/Trade ADR thread and start looking.

I did make an ADR at Shula's (at Swan/Dolphin - I forget which one...). Tim has also mentioned Ruth's Chris, which won't be far from our condo. So we'll see...

I went over to find the cancel/trade ADRs thread for April to find this message posted:

New policy for threads - Trade/Transfer/Wanted posts are no longer allowed. Since Disney no longer allows transferring of reservations to new names, we will no longer support trading of ADRs.

If you and another poster choose to call Disney at the same time to attempt to reclaim a cancellation that is fine and outside of the boards.

Only Cancellation Notice Posts will be allowed going forward. Wanted posts will be deleted without comment.

Thank you for understanding the reason for this change.

Bummer! :headache:
