The FBI destroyed the residue of the sticker attempting to get fingerprints off the duct tape

They must have photos of it, though, right? I mean, they photograph all evidence before they even do anything else with it. Can't they admit the photos into evidence and explain that the sticker was on there but the residue was destroyed in the attempt to get fingerprints off of the duct tape?

Me too. Except I wonder if it would make it look too much like she loved Caylee.

That's a good point. I didn't think about that. But if she drowned why would she have duct tape on her mouth anyway? I don't buy it was because she was decomposing and she wanted to keep fluids from coming out of her mouth.

I remember hearing something about how the evidence was contaminated because they found an FBI employees' DNA on it..

For crying out loud ... if the FBI can't do it right, who the heck can? That was a big thing to blow! But, still, with the crime scene photos, wouldn't it have shown there? It makes me ill that they can't use the heart sticker info.! But, you know, it was in the news quite a bit when the whole story originally came out, so maybe the jury knows about it and, even though they're not supposed to use that information, they might have it in the corner of their brains.

Refresh my memory as to why they won't, please.

I was wondering that as it does appear in photos. The issue is that when it was tested for fingerprints or something, the testing process destroyed what there was.

I don't understand why the photo would be inadmissable. They admitted photos of the bones without them physically being present.

Maybe it is because the defense couldn't do their own testing, I don't know.

Totally insignificant qustion, I know, but I'm curious...

Anyone know where Casey (or anyone in jail and on trial) gets all the clothes she wears to court? She seems to have a pretty extensive wardrobe considering she seems to have something different on every day. Do you think they're things her parents brought in for her and they let her change into them each morning before court? :confused3 Or are the lawyers somewhat concerned with making her look "normal" and presentable?

Personally, I think she should be in a jail orange jumpsuit!

Yeah, because a mother who loves her kid always opts to duct tape the child's mouth, stuff her dead body into a trash bag, and dump her in the woods.

This whole thing sounds like Casey wanted the death (accidental or otherwise) to look like a kidnapping and murder that's why she put the body in a trash bag, put duct tape on the mouth, and dumped it ... and then somehow an accidental drowning story was concocted.

OMG - did the CSI woman just mention the heart sticker?!

I think the parents or the defense purchases the clothes or send in whatever is appropriate from Casey's closet. She puts them on before going to court and takes them off before going back to jail.

An orange jump suit would make her automatically look guilty, so they let her wear street clothes. I was part of the jury for a trial and the defendant kept wearing the same two suits throughout the trial. It was a long trial, too! He did have about 5 different ties, though!

Can somebody tell me if I'm thinking of the right thing when I talk about the sticker residue being contaminated by the FBI agents DNA? I don't want to post wrong information...

Baez crossing---Says that there was so much stuff in the lanes of the search area...Trying to get sticker out?

B says it was a common dumping area---CSI says there was items but not necessarily a dumping ground

B now saying it's across from an elementary she says not right across

B asks if kids walk that way to school--CSI says she doesn't know

Now she's excused

It is actually a significant question.

Some time ago around her first or second arrest--she went to court in the traditional jail uniform. Her lawyer requested (motioned?) that the uniform causes bias. So form that point on, she was permitted to wear street clothes. I think she appeared a couple of times, maybe.

Her attorneys provide it. Nothing fancy and likely from thrift stores as she is now on the state's dime and going shopping for brand spanking new clothes for her would be inappropriate and unnecessary.

She was also shackled initially and that was requested to be done away with. Not sure if she has the leg shackles, but clearly she doesn't have the wrist ones.

Also of note--Miss High and Mighty did not want to come to court at all. She wanted to waive her right to be there (I guess promising she won't contest that it will harm her right to a fair trial.) Judge hauled her butt in and said she had to be there for any and all hearings in reference to her case.

And a bit of Casey court trivia: she actually stumbled on the way into court once. That was the fault of the guards. she is shackled when she enters to court house--legs and hands. She stumbled and since she was shackled, she face planted into the floor. Her hearing was canceled and she had an emergency dental treatment as she broke a tooth or something.
