Caribbean Beach FAQ part VI

While we saw people taking luggage on the internal shuttle, the internal shuttle does not run all night. I just returned from a cheer competition and they arranged independent busses to shuttle event attendees from HS to resorts at 2am. The driver stated that the internal bus would be running to take each of us to our country. We got to CH - and no bus. There was one lone CM at the desk. He did manage to find someone to take each of us to our country using a bell services van.

You are correct that the Internal bus does not run all night. And you are not supposed to bring luggage on the Internal bus, though carry ons are fine. For early AM Magical Express pick ups, Bell Services will come get you and your luggage and bring you to the Custom House. Bell Services is open 24 hours.

I can also confirm that bell services will assist you 24-7. We arrived very late, 2am, on our first CBR visit (plane delayed 5h at our connection) and they happily got us to our room including manhandling all our luggage into our rooms. :)

I have looked all over and can't find it.. I am slmost positive there was a thread somewhere showing the room number, with which rooms are king beds, which are handicapped, which are connecting, etc.

the only thing left at CBR for free dining was a king room. it's just the 2 of us so that's ok but I am a littlle concerned about being stuck in the boonies (barbados, trinidad south) since there are only a few king rooms to be assigned to.

alos, if you book and pay for a king room, and it is in preferred section or a water view, you only pay for the one upgrade, is that correct? (I'm thinking if that is true, there are more chances of getting a king room in one of the other 4 villages)

thanks! I have been searching for an hour and just can't find that thread! I always try to search for an answer on my own before I ask, but I just couldn't find it.

I know that touring plans has a room search link that shows the views from each room. I believe that you can also look for specific room types. http://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-caribbean-beach-resort

For sure you won't be in Trinidad South since those are the pirate rooms. Our walk from our room in Barbados to Old Port Royale took us just 7 1/2 minutes at a leisurely pace.

Not quite sure of the answer but I believe that you will pay for the king room and if you get placed in preferred, you would not be charged.

Hope that I've been able to help answer your questions.

We've had king rooms several times and they seem to be scattered all over the resort except for the pirate rooms. I'd imagine you could ask for one in any village/location and have a reasonable chance of being pretty close. :)

thanks for your help!!! actually, there was another thread that showed each buidlding , bird's eye view, with the room numbers and category of each room. you could see it at a glance.

I knw many people don't find the walk from barbados far, but my husband has had 5 foot surgeries, a bad back, and low vision, so we like to be a little closer. no preferred rooms were available for free dining.

anyway, just wanted to see how manyking rooms there are, and the locations. darn! where is that thread?:rotfl:

Gotta say, I've never seen such a thread for CBR. There is a map just like you are describing for POR and POFQ. :confused3

If I remember correctly, there are 4 kings on every floor of every building. So every building will have 8 kings. Except the Pirate Rooms of course.

Check out the link that I posted above. There are drop down boxes where you can chose your room type, walking distance, etc. and a picture of the view.

My mother has arthritis in her knees and foot and was able to walk from all of the locations to Old Port Royale. If you husband has low vision, I'd suggest that you request a non-preferred room in Martinique since it's on the same side of the lake as Old Port Royale.

After reading everyone's responses to a thread I started, and reading this thread (or at least some of it--LOL!), I am now very excited to see this resort for the first time. We've stayed at AKL, WLR, Poly, Treehouses at SSR, and POFQ. I think the resort looks beautiful and has a great "vibe". I am still unsure about the Pirate rooms though, so I may have my TA put in a request for either preferred rooms with a water view or a newly refurbished room (if there are any ready for our stay Oct.1-Oct.6) with a water view. We've already paid the top rate for a water view Pirate room, so it's not like I'm trying to get an upgrade ;-) Thanks everyone!!!

I hope that you'll end up loving the resort as much as my family does. Did you see the three long posts that I posted on your other thread? Lots of info in there.

Hi, everyone. I've gotten through most of the thread now and I'm a big fan of mickeystoontown's trip reports. I think your mom might be tougher than most of us though. :-) I have a few questions still if you all can help. Thanks!!
How long does the bus take to circle resort (I assume the 10-20 minute estimates to the parks do not include resort circling time)?
Pros and cons of Preferred Martinique vs Trinidad? We don't want to be too far from the pool, but the bus is probably the most important. I was thinking I'd request Martinique 26 and 25.
What's your favorite item from the food court?
No laundry by main pool? Tag teaming DS4 with husband by the pool with laundry is always nice. I don't think we're going to be able to drag him away from the pirate ship area, even if it will be November. He loved the dripping jellyfish at AoA in December when I thought it was too cold to even swim. Kids. :-)
Are any of the playgrounds better than others?
We have two pre-park opening ADRs scheduled (8am for 9am openings at MK and AK). What time would you be at the bus stop?
Thanks again!

First off welcome! :welcome:

From the first pick up to leaving CBR proper is 7-10 minutes. The 10 minutes is if the driver has to load an ECV.

Pros and cons of Preferred Martinique vs Trinidad?

Martinique is ever so slightly closer to OPR and the main pool. But other than that and the color of the buildings, no difference.

With those 2 locations you are equally close to 2 bus stops. The one at OPR and Martinique, and both are very close.

What's your favorite item from the food court?

The huge deli sandwiches on focaccia bread and served with their homemade potatoe chips.

No laundry by main pool?

No, all laundry is at the quiet pools.

Are any of the playgrounds better than others?

Our son loves the one on Caribbean Cay island. It seems much bigger. And it's usually shaded.

Buses start rolling for early ADRs at 6:30am. I would be at the bus stop 70-80 minutes prior to the ADR time.

ah! maybe tht's what I'm thinking of, Port Orleans. I did find one like that in my favorites for Boardwalk villas. (boy, do I ever need to clear out my favorites!:lmao:)

but knowing there are 8 kings in every building is actually the info I was looking for. thanks!

yes, I did check out that link, thanks.

we have stayed quite a few times at CBR. 2X in martinique.
thanks for the help!

I just wanted to say "Thanks" to all who post on this thread. The thread has helped us decide to pick CBR over AOA for our grandbabies first trip. It should be a adventure, 3 adults and 2 under 3 in 1 room!!! We booked water view in hopes of getting near a beach, the little ones love playing in our little 24 in by 48 in sand box. I can't wait to see them on one of the beaches. We leave in 8 days and I'm in the excited/freaking out stage. Sending everyone planning vacations "magical wishes"pixiedust:.

Agree! This thread has been very helpful & I love the pics on the CBR picture thread. I am very excited for my first visit!!

Thanks so much! Huge deli sandwiches sound good. And I definitely want to try the chips. I remember seeing pics of a cool playground, but when I saw the CBR map, I don't remember seeing a playground symbol there. I think I need to check out the pics again of that area. And thanks so much for the bus info. I think that's probably one of the only things holding me up about the resort since we booked preferred. 7-10 isn't too bad. THANKS!!

You're welcome. One of things we love about CBR is that fact that there is a bus stop for every village. After having some long walks in the Fla. heat to a central bus stop at other resorts, we much prefer sitting on an air conditioned bus riding around a beautiful resort than walking.:cool2:

Homemade Chips?? Yay!! We have a local restaurant that makes them and I love them!!!

This thread is sure hopping since free dining was released! :cool1: I hope that all of you newbies to CBR enjoy it as much as we do! Happy and safe travels everyone! :goodvibes
