Caribbean Beach FAQ part VI

This time tomorrow, we will be checking in! I screwed up the online check-in and requested Trinidad North even though we only had a standard room reserved but maybe we will get lucky. Even though it's just a short 4 day trip, I'm super excited! Hopefully I can report back on some kind of construction work :cool1:

There was a flaw in the online checkin system whereby you can't amend your selections. In fact, if you went back in, you can keep selecting additional requests while your original ones remained checked. This happened to me last year. Don't know if they fixed it or not.

Anyway...have a great trip!

We will be arriving by Magic Express. Is the Customs building within the resort? What is the process after check in? walk to find your room or does a shuttle have to take you to your village? tell me more about the inside resort shuttle, is it marked, what does it look like?

The Magical Express bus will drop you off at the Customs House where you will check in. You can ask Bell Services to take you to your building. If you do not have bags and don't want to wait, it may be just as quick to take the pathway to the village of Barbados and catch the internal bus.

This map will show you the pathway to Barbados:

The internal buses look exactly like other Disney buses. The sign on the front of the bus and near the door will say Internal Shuttle.

Custom House is inside the Resort :)

It is directly across from Barbados Village (which would probably be the only short walkable village from CH). There is an internal resort shuttle that goes between Villages & Old Port Royale (Food court/arcade/gift shop/main pool etc) You will be directed out a side door to the portico for the internal bus once all checked in :)

We'll be there Sept. 23-28 for my older daughters 7th birthday and our anniversary, which were only an hour apart.

Be our second trip to WDW, stayed at POR last year with grandma. We really loved POR and would have gone back if it was included in FD, but we're really looking forward to trying out CBR, and to doing Disney just ourselves.

What a great anniversary and birthday trip!

Hope that you'll end up enjoying the resort as much as my family does.

See the map in the link above. The Custom House is its own building. Once you check in, you can either walk to your room (only feasible if your room is in Barbados or maybe Martinique bulidings 21/22 and you have little to no luggage with you), have bell services take you to your room (best option if you have a lot of bags/luggage with you - which you shouldn't if usung Magicla Express), or take the internal resort bus. the internal bus looks just like all the other Disney Transportation buses that go to/from the the parks, except the display on the front and side will say "INTERNAL RESORT SHUTTLE" instead of one of the parks.

Damn, you're quick! :thumbsup2

Just booked a free dining trip for December 14-19 with my dad and step-mom, adults only! Can't wait to be in Disney for the holiday decorations and events and to check out CBR for the first time. :cool1:

We are booked CBR FD 12/12-12/16. We will spend all of our time in the parks and like to go at rope drop. Which building should we request to get to the park busses the quickest?

Every village has it's own bus stop so the longest it would ever take you to walk to a bus stop would be under 2 minutes. It's one of the many things we love about CBR.

Just to add to what mickeystoontown stated, you don't need to take the path to Barbados to catch the Internal Bus. It also stops/picks up at The Custom House. There is an exit to the right of the check in desks and when you walk out of it the Internal Bus Stop is right there. :thumbsup2

Thanks to both of you, that was quick and very helpful.
One less thing to think about, I'm getting excited about our trip.
I like to be as familiar as I can be about the processes, this helps make things easier and less stressful. :flower3:

Can we bring our bags that were ( Airline Carry on bags) on Internal Shuttle? thanks

Forgot about the one that stops at the Custom House. Thanks for correcting me.

You are welcome!

I have a question for you folks. My husband and I will be staying at CBR for the first time on 10-3 for the FD. We usually stay at the Beach Club, but all of the hotels around Bay Lake are sold out, except for club level, because of some big IT convention. I have some questions, we will be using ME except for a carry on bag. When we check in, I assume our room will mostly likely not be ready, can I leave my carry on with bell services and then go off to the parks? And if so, when we get back, assuming I've gotten a text that our room is available by then, can we just go to our room and call bell services for our bag, or do we have to stop at the Custom House and pick it up there and then go to our room?

Thanks in advance, Lissa

I tried to fix it when I realized that TN was preferred but it wouldn't let me. I was going to call but I booked with the Orbitz deal and would have to call Orbitz and then do a 3 way call with Disney. I decided it wasn't worth the hassle, so we will just deal with whatever room we are given.

You can leave your carry on with Bell Services and, as you said, go to the parks and go straight to your room if you've received a text saying that it's ready. Once in your room, call Bell Services and ask that they bring your item(s) to your room. By the way, should you not get a text saying that your room is ready and you think that it may possibly be (after 3:00 p.m. or so) you can stop at the Concierge desk in the Custom House or at Old Port Royale and have them check for you. My mother never received a text that her room was ready even though I received a text saying our connecting room was ready. The castmember at the concierge desk in OPR was able to get her room number for her.

Thanks so much!!

We are booked for CBR FD for Nov1st-9th. My family was SO excited when I made the reservation that we were all dancing around the kitchen. I needed to post a very big thank-you to mickeystoontown and Dansdad! This is our second trip (1st in '08 at ASMo) and 'lurking' through their posts about CBR really helped me decide on what resort we wanted to book. The kids LOVE the look of the pool. I can't wait to join the CBR fan club!
