http://www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php

this is the thread I was thinking of. unfortunately, it's only for POR or POFQ. it shows all the king rooms, connecting, handicapped, etc.

I guess I thought there was a site like this for all the resorts. my bad.

you click on the building on the map, then click again and it enlarges. we just stayed in room 5204 at FQ. you can see that there are 9 king bed rooms in bldg. 5, and their location

Now, that's a cool idea for a map. I wish there was one for CBR too. It's not a Disney site, but a fan site specializing in the Port Orleans resorts.:)

I agree the POR map was very helpful when we coordinated our room assignments last year - their staff member was so helpful and really made the trip special by setting all 10 of our rooms up next to each other.:goodvibes

You can try viewing the touringplans.com room view tool; select the "room type" from the pull down menu on the left, all the buildings with the selection with be highlighted, click on one of the buildings, then the rooms with your particular selection will be highlighted. Make sure you select floor 1 or 2 from the pull down menu in the top right. http://touringplans.com/hotel_maps/disneys-caribbean-beach-resort?commit=Clear+Search+Filters&filters%5Baccessibility%5D=any&filters%5Bfloors%5D=any&filters%5Blobby_distance%5D=any&filters%5Brack_rate%5D=any&filters%5Brate_date%5D=2014-05-10&filters%5Bsound%5D=any&filters%5Btransportation_distance%5D=any&filters%5Bug%5D=&filters%5Bview%5D=any

I know this is an off the wall question but can you get blue hair extentions at the resort? I thought I read some where that they do braiding caribbean style. If they do I thought there may be a chance they might sell small bunches of different color hair which is very popular now. If not do you know of any where in Disney I could get some? I am doing a Disney bound Silver mist out fit and would love to add a blue strip of hair.

Do the sand buckets have the resort logo on it ? And how much are they?

They did not have the resort logo on them. As a matter of fact, I don't believe that they had anything on them. I can't recall the exact price but I do remember my husband and I commenting that they were lots cheaper than you would expect at WDW.

I haven't seen anything like that at the resort store. I am sure that your best bet would be World of Disney at Downtown Disney or The Emporium at the Magic Kingdom.

Awh too bad. We are going to dinner at Fultons our first night there so I might try the World of Disney. What things do they sell there? We will be at MK on Wensday so I can try The Emporium then.

It'd almost be easier to tell you what World of Disney does "not" sell. The store is the largest of it's kind. It's set up in sections and I'd think that, if the blue "hair" would be found anywhere, it would be in the little girls/princess section of the store. Every time we go in the store, I am reminded just how big it is and how empty my wallet is when we come out. :rotfl:

Hi guys! Sorry I didn't post yesterday. We are in Jamaica building 43. There's a fenced off area next to the bus stop with industrial size dumpsters but no sign of any activity other than that. We got here yesterday at 10 and our room was ready! Nice corner room with the lake view right outside our door. Not bad for a standard ressie. It's not too crowded here at the resort, there have been available tables in the QS area both mornings and last night at dinner. The buses yesterday were awful. Waited 40 minutes for an MK to go to The GF for dinner and finally gave up and ate at OPR. I had the Cuban with jerk seasoned chips and it was delicious. Anyway, we're having a great time and I'll continue to keep an eye on the construction until we leave Monday evening!

Wow so lucky! That is the section we requested. I hope we are as lucky. I can take over where you leave off informing everyone of the construction update. We will be there Tuesday.

It is worth a shot. Some one else mention to have it shipped to our room. I am half tempted to do that but it may be too risky. The good thing is I will not need it until towards the end of our trip. I have a blue otfit and Silver mist neckless to wear to the Flower Festival on our Epcot day. I thought it may be fun to add a few strands of blue hair to my black hair like Silver Mist has.

I was just able to book CBR in December with free dining :) We've never stayed at CBR and it has been 4 years since our last WDW trip. I'm hoping y'all can help answer a couple questions:

1) Our youngest DD has several severe food allergies...can we get a fridge or do they still not have fridges in the room?

2) With 4 adults 2 double beds will be tight...any news about the refurb? Could one of my DD's use an air mattress?

Thanks so much

We certainly had a fridge in our room (Martinique), but it was not the best and we had to turn it up to full to chill any drinks we put in there. I think that was just our room, though.

They are supposed to be upgrading the beds to queens, but it's anybody's guess when they'll get it done. Perhaps you could request a room in whichever island has been upgraded nearer the time.

So we are one of the CBR refugees that switched over for FD and I had a couple of questions:

My TA said that no moderates have the option for rollaway beds anymore, is this true? Like a lot of people, I am nervous about having full beds (we are a family that like to "starfish" in bed, lol) and wondered if we could get a rollaway.

My other question is about the rehab. The "rumors" are that rooms will get queen beds but does this include the pirate rooms?

Thanks!

Perhaps this is because they're going to be offering some rooms with Murphy beds in them so the need for rollaways will disappear.

That said, they'd have to considerably rearrange the furniture to fold a bed out at right angles to the wall, as that's where the two doubles are at present.

... unless the Murphy beds are only for the king rooms ...

From what I understand most of the roll-aways are gone. The few that remain are handed out first come, first served, and there is an extra per night charge for them.

You might want to pack an air mattress along, or have one shipped to the resort. That way you are sure you will have the extra sleeping space you may need.

Didn't know this was allowed, if it is this is what will will do.

Thanks for the update! Next time there's a long wait for the bus, use the phone in the bus stop to call and let them know. Hopefully, you won't have another long wait. I hope that you continue to have a great trip!

Sounds like it would be best to just look around in World of Color since you'll be at Fulton's anyway.

Hoping for some help...
We are staying at CBR as a part of our free dining promo in November. We are in Martinique - does anyone know if this is near the main building? I had asked for a preferred room. Apparently we now have a water view, too. I am having a hard time with the map. Any help is appreciated! (We stayed there last summer, but I can't seem to remember our area!)

Thanks!

How did you find out what building u are in so early!?

We're booked at CBR in September with free dining. We stayed there back in 2007 and I can't remember which island we were in but I remember it to be a bit away from OPR. I'd like to be closer to OPR this time but a preferred room is too much more (plus none left now for out dates). Will I be able to request a specific island at online check in?

Yes, you can request one during online check in. It's just a request of course, but they have them as options.
