DH and I are going to buy ourselves all new bedding for Christmas. The featherbed that I like is 800 fill all down, but they want $2114 for it. Not only that, but the only place I can find a all down featherbed is here and it seems to be a new company because I can't find any information on them. I dont know if I feel comfortable giving my CC to a place that I can not find any information on, especially 2-3 grand! lol

Can I use a down comforter (or 2) as a featherbed?? Or does anyone know of a good featherbed ( internet ) place? This will be our first one, and I dont want to be uncomfortable or be poked by feathers. Any advice would be apreciated!

Yikes! Those are pricey. Have you checked out overstock.com? They might have some that are a lot more reasonably priced.

I wouldn't think using down comforters would work all that well. I have one and it would go perfectly flat if we tried to lie on it.

I don't think they would be substantial enough to stay in place. My feather bed is kind of heavy and weighted where it should be to stay down.

I have a really nice one I got from Macy's and only spent 2 or 3 hundred.

Look for Northern Nights brand on QVC, QVC.com. I don't have a personal recommendation, but from what I've seen they look to be priced reasonably.

Do you remember what brand it is? I really dont know where to start in regards to what I should buy.

I never would have guessed! It's made by Woolrich!

I don't know how I chose it. I guess I liked the feel and the price. It's really comfy. Watch for Macy sales, and you can get a pretty good price on all their feather beds.

Thankyou for looking! I hope you didnt have to kick anyone out of bed to do so! lol.

Thank you for the info. everyone.:)

LOL I just ripped the sheets off and stuck them in the wash. DH now thinks I am getting some work done before work, so I get points for this so

THANK YOU! :lmao:

I think I got one from Macy's or Nordstroms. Trey bed, Bath & Beyond. Make sure you get one that has the baffle quilted pockets. Otherwise when you wake up in the morning, all the feathers have been pushed down by your feet & the sides of the bed. The more pockets, the more they will keep the feathers from shifting & moving to the wrong places.

I finally gave up my featherbed for a 4" memory foam pad. I love it so much more. :thumbsup2 No refluffing of feathers every day.

hehe, I am glad you quoted our uninvited "friend" Cindys mom! Otherwise I would have never seen it.

Wow, there is no way I would buy anything from a company that had the time to hunt me down on a message board because I said I couldnt find any information about that company! BTW, I actually DID search the BBB and it did say that they have been around for 10-11 years. I still think its weird that when you google them nothing pops up but their advertisments. :confused3

OK, rant over! I have been putting my dream bed together from the company store ever since solferino pointed it out! Thanks solferino!!

That price seems very high. You can get one from Brylane Home for $79. They have down alternative mattress toppers that are even less. Also check Overstock.com
