"Can I see your pins?" 12 Days of Disney Fun: Oct. 2011 3/13 It's the end.

First off, let me just say :worship: to you for being open about your baby struggles! I know what a huge step that is. I was just diagnosed with PCOS in November, so I am right there with you! It's so frustrating to think that your body isn't working like it should. But, I also know that there is so much out there for people who it doesn't come so easily for. We're just kind of taking it easy for a a while, but if nothings happens come spring we'll get more serious with treatment as well. If you ever want to talk about it feel free to PM me! I don't really discuss it with anyone in real life, so I know it can be kind of isolating. :goodvibes

Ok - on to Disney! Your update has me so excited for Cali Grill! And I LOVE your dress that you wore. You look so beautiful!

I was sitting here making ADR plans for our 2013 trip and California Grill was at the top of my list! So glad you guys enjoyed it! We really like sushi so we're looking forward to going here! I wish we could squeeze it on for our July trip this year but there are too many people going and I don't think we could make it work.

Although now I have to go back and look at our list and see if I could change something.....:rolleyes1

I can't believe that I forgot to add that a couple at a table just a few feet away from us got engaged! They were with about 4-5 other people and my back was to it so I looked back when I heard the clapping. I was so excited for them! She immediately was on the telephone calling everyone.

It's a great "date night" so you may want to save it for your 2013 trip.

I'll definitely be PMing you! I don't really have anyone to talk about it in "RL" either.

It was such a nice meal. We weren't rushed at all and our server was great. I actually think I'd like to try Victoria and Alberts on one of the next trips!

Thanks, I actually got the dress at Old Navy last spring. It's very "Rachel Bilson" (from the OC). I love it! :)

Aww that's so sweet! I did end up exchanging our dinner at Ohana this July for California Grill so hopefully we'll like it and we'll go back in 2013 when it's just the two of us! And also love the dress you were wearing! I forgot to mention it before but I really like it!

Great update! I love your dress! :thumbsup2

OMG I keep seeing CA Grill in various TR's and I have to try it now! I will definitely be going there this September, it looks so good! :thumbsup2

What time was your ADR for, do you remember? I would love to watch Wishes as we're eating!

I've got PCOS as well. I was diagnosed when I was 18, so almost ten years ago. It's such a lovely issue, isn't it? My OBGYN told me that my case has a strong chance that it could eventually develop into ovarian cancer. Heck of a thing to be told when you're 18.

I hope you'll like it, too! Be adventurous and don't hesitate to ask your server for suggestions. Thanks, it is one of my favorite dresses. :)

Really enjoying your TR, keep it coming!

I've still got 3 more full days to share! :)

Thank you! I'm sad your dates don't seem like they'll overlap with ours. Our dates aren't official yet but I would have loved to do a DIS meet with you! We'll see how things go. :)

I can only imagine! I have anxiety issues and I don't know how I would deal with that looming in the back of my mind. I already worry about every little ache and pain. I am thankful that I don't have any cysts on my ovaries and my blood work (done yearly) shows that my hormone levels are normal. Something's up, though.

I was hesitant to get the Gardisil injections until my aunt had stage III HPV (the next step up is cervical cancer). I go for my second injection on Friday. :)

What are your dates?? We're doing Sept 22-30. I'd like to go the next week, but it's no longer value season that week and you can stay in a deluxe for like $500 less! And this way we can still catch some Food and Wine festival!! If our dates overlap at all we should definitely meet up!!

We're actually thinking about going Oct 27-Nov 4. I'm not sure what we're doing anymore actually. I don't know whether to skip Disney this year and do an Alaskan cruise or what!

Ohhh, I would love to go those days but like I said, we have to go for value season and our AP'S expire Oct. 5. :(

I want to do an Alaskan Cruise sooo bad!! Have you priced any of them yet? They're actually not too bad!

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd 2+ weeks later, I'm responding. I've been really busy and had other things on my mind.

We're actually planning to do an Alaskan cruise this September in lieu of Disney World. It's on our bucket list and we've kept saying we're going to go every year. When it comes down to it, it's actually nearly the same cost as a Disney World trip.

I know, I know. I've been neglectful. I'm sorry!!! :sad2:

I only have three days left to share and this weekend I should be able to get an update in as I don't work or have much going on.

I've been really busy lately. I worked last Saturday and today all day on top of my regular hours at the library and I still do my writing from home and I actually just got accepted to write articles through examiner.com and CBS Local!!! :cool1: It won't pay much but I'll get a byline and more readership exposure so I am really looking forward to it.

I do have some exciting news on the vacation front...Greg and I finally made a decision for our next vacation. We're going to...wait for it...wait for it...ORLANDO!!!! Notice how I said Orlando and NOT Disney World. This is going to be a park free trip. Greg and I both want relaxation. This doesn't mean there won't be some Disney magic thrown in. We'll definitely dine at a few of our favorite restaurants and visit Downtown Disney (Greg's already talking about pins...:rotfl:). :) We got a phenomenal deal on a one bedroom suite at a resort that is rated #6 of over 340 hotels in Orlando on TripAdvisor. We'll have a full kitchen and a washer and dryer! I'll share more about this trip as I begin planning more. It only took a month of decision making to choose this trip. :rolleyes1 When it came down to it, we found this deal and couldn't pass it up!

Your spring Florida trip sounds great! I can't believe you're going to be so close to Disney and NOT go to a park, though! :rotfl:

Are you really doing an Alaskan cruise this September? What cruise line? I'm really, really hoping to do one next year, I'd love to do one in August and take a full 2 weeks to do the cruise and then maybe go to like, Washington or northern CA for a few days! I'd do one this year, but I don't feel like I have enough time to plan, and it's only February!

I <3 the dress you wore to the California Grill, it's so cute. Greg's yellow shirt really complemented it too.

I'm so sorry for hear you guys are having trouble TTC; you are so brave to talk about it so openly. I know it's cheesy, and not really what you want to hear, but when the time is right it will happen for you guys. Take the delay as a sign it's not your time yet and you should be packing as much fun into your years as a duo as you can, your lives will not be your own before you know it!

You guys will make wonderful parents.

Yay on booking your next vacation! Glad you guys are taking a trip specifically for relaxation! We always say we are going to do that and never actually do it!

Can't wait for your next update!

I can't believe it either. I know the parks are going to be PACKED, though. It's the week before Easter which means many schools are on spring break (at least around here). My annual pass is still good until April 23 and we have some Disney gift cards that would essentially get Greg in for nothing so we might consider it for one day. I'm not sure, though. The thought of dealing with huge crowds is not appealing at all to me.

We went to Mexico last September and it was such a relaxing vacation. We considered going again this March but it's really expensive. I then tried researching some resorts on any of the Florida beaches. A decent hotel is over $300 night and I really don't want to stay in a motel. I'm going to write an update now and then I'm going to "introduce" our upcoming Orlando trip. :)

Friday, October 7

This morning we set a 730am wakeup call. Greg got up but I slept until 8. We still made it to Hollywood Studios for rope drop, though!

We were on the slow end of the TSM mad dash. We waited 25 minutes and we grabbed some fastpasses for later.

We decided to get a breakfast sandwich from Fairfax Faire.

Overall, I wasn’t too impressed. It wasn’t horrible but I wish we would have just went to Starring Rolls.

We had to make a stopover at the Animation Academy and we participated in 2 classes. The instructor CM said to use “You guys are gaining a lot of enemies.” We kept raising our hand when asked who drew “this character”. I’m not addicted to the classes at all…

After we were done drawing we headed over to RnRC and grabbed a couple FPS. We then got in the standby line for ToT.

433.jpg

While taking our ride on the elevator, it DOWNPOURED. That didn’t stop us, though! I had ponchos so we were prepared! :)

We went over to the Muppets next. Can I just say that the preshow seems to go on for-ev-er.

After Muppets, it was time to use our RnRC FPs so we headed over there.

Breakfast was wearing off at this point, so we decided to stop for some lunch at Starring Rolls.

You can’t go wrong with a meal from here. Sooooo delicious!

After lunch we used our FPs on TSM for one last ride. I think Greg actually beat me this time because I remember being a good sport! Haha

We headed back to Pop for a little rest.

When I woke up, we continued to debate going to MNSSHP again. The weather was looking a bit ominous and we didn’t want to spend the money for the tickets only to have it wasted. Greg wanted to head to the lobby for the pin trading that was going to take place, so he was going to see if any tickets were available for this night and I was going to get ready for the evening.

Turns out that there were tickets left so we purchased 2 and headed to the food court for some dinner before heading over the MK.

I had one of the TV Dinners (meatloaf on this night):

Greg had a cheeseburger and fries:

Overall, it was an okay meal. The green beans and cornbread were the best part of my meal.

As soon as we were finished eating, we headed out to the MK. Our goal for the night was to take a lot of character pictures and see the parade again.

Friday, October 7 cont.

Notice the clouds in the background in this picture:

Now, look at this picture:

Yeah, I know!!!

Of course the skies opened up. (Yes we had ponchos.) We took cover in the tunnel by Haunted Mansion.

442.jpg

There was a family with some AWESOME costumes and I did my best to take pictures without being a creeper…

We tried to see the Villian Show but it was cancelled due to the rain. The workers were really out there trying to get the water off the stage but it just wasn’t safe enough. They did do the character meet and greet though, so that was great!

Cruella commented on our shirts and asked me to join her business. I said no! haha

We found a spot on Main St. for the parade and waited…and waited…and waitied. By this point in the evening it was raining on and off but it hadn’t really down poured since the skies first opened. The parade was about 45 minutes delayed if I remember correctly. But at least they had the parade, right?

I think the gloomy weather added to the awesomeness of this parade, actually.

Friday, October 7:

They still had the fireworks. Greg and I are sill obsessed with the music from the show.

The rest of the evening was spent taking more character pictures.

Like these:

I’m laughing in this picture because Jafar pointed at my shirt and I said I made them and he did a “Whoop de doo” sign with his finger. Then I told him he’s scary, I forget how it came up. He then gave me bunny ears. One of the best character meet and greets ever.

Greg was ecstatic when we came out of this meet and greet because the CM’s in the gift shop had the pin he was looking for, he had now completed 2 pin collections.

Here’s a few other pictures from that night:
