Can adults go to bibbidi bobbidi boutique?

Others could say the same about taking trips to Disney. Don't look down on someone just because what they spend their money on isn't your cup of tea.

I didn't look down on anybody. I just said I don't get it.

If you can understand why people still dress up for Halloween, then you can understand why people would want to visit the BBB.

No, they are not one and the same. I don't get people dressing up for Halloween, beyond their teen years.

Well as an adult I would dress up for Halloween parties, which I think most adults do still have...
Now that I have a kid of my own I will be dressing up for Halloween with her as a theme, and I will drag my DH into it. We do it because we love our kids and want to make special memories for them, I can not believe people do not see that.

I would as an adult do the BBB if my DD asked me to because I love my daughter and if she asks me to do something that will make her happy and doesn't harm her why in the heck not.

Its for our kids, for the children in ourselves, to feel young again, to have fun. Now do you get it?

I'm sorry, I guess I don't. I don't have kids, but I don't think that makes any difference. I dont have to get it. We never saw Halloween as anything but another day. I have a right to think it's ridiculous, I do have a right to form my own opinion, I am not trying to force it on anyone, as everyone seems to want to force me to understand it's okay.

There is still a huge difference in putting on a costume and make up yourself than there is paying $60 for someone else to do it.

There are alot of things in this world that I may think are ridiculous, doesn't make me right or wrong, doesn't make someone else right or wrong.

Now do you get it?

I worked at the BBB until this past January when my husband and I moved. I was so sad when they made the age rule!

Some of the best guest stories I have are about adults! One mother had a 12 year old daughter who *dared* her to get a makeover- so she chose the pink hair and told her daughter that she'd pick her up from school that way. Another woman was celebrating her 40th birthday, and she and her friend and her mom all got done. I've also had a grandmother jump in the chair when her little granddaughter decided not to do it. Older ladies almost always pick pink or rainbow hair. I've seen moms doing it with their little girls and letting their daughters make all their choices for them. It's adorable. There have also been proposals and bachelorette parties in the BBB.

Grown woman who went to the BBB were not looking for a grown up spa experience. They go there for the same reason that you see adults wearing giant birthday cake hats. It's silly! The women I've seen go in as a group usually crack up at each other the whole time. It's fun to let loose and make fun of yourself! It feels good to laugh.

And for the record- one is never too old to dress up for Halloween. Who says costumes and make believe should be just for kids? There is a whole profession of people who never grew out of it. They are called actors.

I don't have kids, am way past teen years and have done Halloween - back when PI was open it was a big production coming up with costumes every year for the Halloween festivities over there. Was on the Dream last year and they had an adult costume contest.

BBB though, I wouldn't do that but I am not interested in a princessy makeover. My favorite costume I wore over the years at PI was a Star Trek uniform.

But as for the BBB age limit, it was not done because Disney thought the adults were being silly. It was done because so many adults were signing up that people couldn't get their kids in. Maybe Disney should look into building a princess makeover spot for adults if it's going to be that popular.

What I get is that you actually are trying to force your opinions by telling everyone they are wrong to do these things. I do not know if you realize it but you are coming off as the people who do these things are ridiculous and that we are wrong. This post was supposed to be about someone asking if adults can still make reservations and why they can not. Not asking others if its wrong or ridiculous or whatever.

100 percent agree! But dont you know its wrong for adults to even think about being silly, having fun, and being a kid?? :rotfl2: Heck thats wht I thought DIsney was all about, being a kid again. I LOVE that commercial where the parent and kid are walking hand in hand down main steet, and they show you two kids walking down main street. That is the whole point of Disney, and what Walt wanted geez...

BTW I think you are so lucky getting to work at the World!

I believe the rule was changed due to complaints....in actuality, the number of adults getting makeovers was just a small handful a day at most- not enough to make that much of a difference. But parents got upset when they saw adults in the chairs.

I'm so sad they changed the rule :worried:

I'm 22 years old and upset I can't get a princess makeover, dang it! :rotfl:

Same here! They didn't have this when I was a kid, so my sister and I would have loved the chance! I don't even recall girls going to the park in their princess dresses. I love the idea of an adult version!

Me and my friend want to have a laugh and go to bibbidi bobbidi boutique and get the hair and make up done however can we do it were 20 and we don't want to go in or make reservations and end up not being able to
Thanks in advance :)

My daughter and I are booked to do the Mermaid Package at the Pirates League in September. It looks like a good alternative and it's cheaper. :thumbsup2

I don't remember it either, where WAS all this stuff when I was a kid??? Kid these days have the best stuff! ::yes::

This is definately a marketing opportunity. Disney, are you listening?

Come on, Disney! I'm dying to give you $$$$$$$$$MONEY$$$$$$$$$$ for this!! That should get their attention! :rotfl2:

Parents get upset when they see adults riding Dumbo, too, there's no age limit on that. Yet.

Oh no, can't have little pumpkin miss out on being a ~princess~ whilst those meanie adults take her spaces. She DESERVES it because she's a child, don'tcha know.

Umm, actually. . YEAH. The place was created for little girls. Not adults who want to act like little girls. When little girls who may not get to Disney but once are unable to get in there because reservations are totally booked. . .then I'm all with them on the age limit. I'm an adult, while it might be a laugh to get a princess makeover, it's supposed to be a magical experience for -children-.

My little girl couldn't get a reservation last time, but for the coming trip it was one of the first reservations made.

If you want to petition Disney to create a fairy godmother boutique to cater to grown women who want to be made up like a princess. . .go ahead. But I don't blame them one bit for putting the age limit on BBB.

Actually I don't recall Disney ever saying "this is only a magical experience for children" when it first opened. :confused3 Seemed like the restriction was put in place by complaining parents...and eventually Disney decided to give those parents what they wanted.

I've never been to BBB as I've never really been into the entire princess scene. I have a daughter, and I'd have no problem seeing an adult in a chair even if it meant I couldn't get my daughter in. I don't see it as any different than me not getting an ADR but someone else being able to. You win some, you lose some. I suppose I take on the view that Disney had...that the parks were meant for children AND adults to have fun together. Not just one or the other. JMO.
