Calling all Pierced Dis-ers

Yep. I've been noticing that my son gets extremely red under the adhesive with some types of bandages but not with others. And my mom, who had never been allergic to them before, developed a rotten allergy to latex while dealing with a series of medical procedures.

It is the adhesive that is causing the irritation, not the latex. I cannot wear bandaids for more than 6 to 8 hours. If I wear steri strip for an extended period, my skin will blister. I have not found a fix so far, it is just a skin allergy/sensitivity.

As for the implants, I have zero suggestions b/c those looks incredibly painful and bothersome. I do agree with another PP, I would be concerned about problems at the water parks. Are they smoothish on your back or do they stand up like a little spike? :worried:

Not sure if this would help but just a suggestion.

If you do get pain from pressure and being slung around on the dermals on the rides you might try the small round corn pads that have a hole in the middle. They are like a small cushion. It would put a barrier between the ride seat and the dermal.
Not very stylish I know but you don't want to mess up your skin or dermals.

Hope you find an answer!

Once healed there's absolutely no sensation from the implants just like with any other piercing once your skin is healed around it. They sit virtually flush with my skin. I've never done any of the water parks yet I was looking for a suit that covered them in the back if we decided to go this time and I figured I'd just stick with rides that had rafts or the lazy river. I am finding that most swimsuits - even one-pieces - are cut too low in the back to cover them. Oh well the search continues.

I can't wait to rush out to have various holes punched in my body...I'd better have that done before our next trip :lmao:
