Greetings everyone!! Hope you have all had a great week!!

Slo - you should be receiving your t-shirt any day. Ours aren't as colorful as yours!! My kids are back in school, too! Sarah is in 12th (we're college shopping), Emily is in 5th and James in 3rd. Football and cheerleading practice is killing us right now. We have some kind of practice 7 days a week right now!!


eeyore'smountainpals - A.J. should be receiving some mail from me, too! We don't ever have snow days to deal with - we have hurricane days! I guess there are "days" everywhere! I will say though, that even the smallest of flurries shut us down! But, we only see snow about once every blue moon!


Ya'll have a great weekend and think of us this Saturday! We have our first football game - 12:15 pm, probably 95 degrees with 100% humidity!!

So glad I saw this thread today!
My DH is a Volunteer FF, has been since he was 16 yrs old, he is 32 now! There is nothing like the bond of the "brotherhood" in fellow firefighters.

Also the bond of the wives is very special, you can't understand it if you have not been the wife of firefighter, late night calls, missed dinners, missed holidays, but the wives in our dept are all very close as are our children. I am President of the Auxiliary for our Department so if there is a severe call that will keep the boys out for a while, I usually get a call as well for refreshments on scene, or during training we provide refreshments.

We also do alot of fundraising to provide the dept with the "goodies" the tax payers don't! Our Auxiliary tries to keep the families together by organizing family fun events because we all know between drills, training classes, monthly meetings and actual alarms things get busy and sometimes family time can get cut short. So our dept has made a move to involve famillies more in dept activities. It has worked out great!

When my DH is at a call my scanner never goes off, and if he is not at the call it still does not go off. We are very close with the other dept families and I know if our dept. is out so are some of our dear friends. My DD4 has made many friends through our dept. she refers to them as "FireHouse Kids"! Both my DD's godfather is actually a fellow FF with Dh, and his wife is also there godmother. It is a family!!

My Dh is a Battalion Chief here in S Florida! He is on shift 24/48. I see you will be on RCCL SoS..I was watching the drydock last night...very cool! I am looking forward to being on the Magic after she drydocks in October!

We watched the drydock last night as well.....getting more excited as we see it progress. We are going with a group of 38 other people, I put a Family Reunion together and this is where it will take place. Alot of work so anxious for the cruise to happen....But taking a few days before to relax with the Mouse... Will they be documenting the Magics DryDock? I hope to do a disney cruise soon, they look wonderful, we did one back when Premier did them, it was a fantastic trip!

I have actually seen the entire Drydock..a few Saturdays ago, they had an all day marathon. It was really down to the wire!
I wish they would have DCL on Drydock, but I don't see that happening...bummer!

Good evening ladies - we went and took the babies 2yr old pictures today. She started off crying alot, but we cheered her up and got some good pictures.

Hello everyone! We survived our football game - 96 degrees with a heat index of 106 or so. It was miserable! These are the kind of days I wish we had chosen more indoor hobbies! DS 8 years old had been playing since he was four so you would think we'd be used to it. I thought my cheerleaders would melt, but they hung in there, too. We did win the game :thewave: ! DH had to miss the game because of work. I thought we were hot until I found out that they made a fully involved apartment complex at the same time. No injuries and no one had to be treated for heat exhaustion, so that is truly a blessing!

Slo - it always amazes me that our children laugh and make the cutest faces until you point a camera at them! I hope your tshirt will be waiting for you at work!

Anyone else interested in trading be sure to include me! Tshirts or patches!

So how are allof us doing ? Dh is on shift again yeah for me and the dog.
We were alseep last night by 10 so he could go to work this morning and at 11:45 pm we got a call saying our son was in the ER and they needed us to come ASAP . He only needed some stitches but it really freaked me out . My DH threw on his clothes and I went in jammies LOL. We go there and he needed 6 stitches on the back of his foot . He almost severed his Acheles tendon ! he fell down a escalator . So I am worn out and tired from lack of sleep , I am glad to have the ol sleep number bed to myself .

Good morning ladies!!

My baby is 2yrs old today!! I can't believe it's been 2 years since she has been born. So, it's a busy day today - I have to pick Katie's b-day cake and all her balloons, and then her party starts at 2:00.

I'm sure DH is going to be tired and sleeping in this morning - he was up half the night with the FD fighting a barn fire. I'll probably be gone running errands before he wakes up.

Idroveallnight - congrats on winning the game!! I can't believe hot it was for you guys during the game yesterday - luckily you guys made it throughtout the day w/o any heat exhaustion. Don't you hate it when your DH has to go to an involved fire when it is so hot. I really do - it always makes me so nervous.

Mad4Mickey - it's so good to see you!! Your welcome for the t-shirt, I'm glad you received it!! I'm sorry you had such a stressful night last night, but luckily you didn't find out at the ER that your son had something more seriously wrong. I'm sending him some PD for a quick recovery and that he doesn't have to much pain. Is this injury going to affect his wrestling? I hope not, because I know how much he loves it.

Thank you ladies for the happy birthday wishes for BabyKate. It will be interesting how the age of 2 is with her. Stephanie was a wonderful 2yr old and a terrible 3yr old. If Katie wants to be a terrible 2 that's fine - just as long as she does it after we come home from WDW at the end of September

Today Stephanie started 1st grade. What a big girl!!! She said she wasn't nervous, but she had to be because she was starting at a brand new school. I can hardly wait to hear about her day when she comes home later.

Idroveallnight - I received the t-shirt and I think it's great. I already washed it and put it with DH's other t-shirts. He likes having t-shirts from other towns/cities. Thanks again!!
