We do have family from the Gulfport area who are trying to get home or whatever may be left of home. Power may be out for awhile for my daughter. She will post our details as soon as possible (does have a generator). Our hearts and prayers are with all those who have experienced utter devastation. been busy with the little ones since my sister is now working till 1 am we have them with us now . Brennan is going to Kindergarten this year so I am really busy with that .

Derick got his stitches out today and he is going to work out with the team in the morning so we will see how that goes.

My DD is moving out in about 2 months and believe it or not I am feeling ok about it .

How are you guys doing over there ?

Wow...it does sound like you are busy. How is Brennan enjoying kindergarten? Hopefully he is liking it.

It's good to hear the Derick is getting his stitches out already. Wish him luck for me that everything goes well for him with his wrestling team.

I can't believe your DD is moving out - kids grow up so fast!!! Where is she going? Will she be close? Tell her good luck also.

Things are going great by us. Stephanie is in first grade now and she loves it. BabyKate just turned 2 and she has been really healthy this summer (knock on wood).

We are currently getting ready to leave for WDW on Sept. 15th and we can hardly wait. Last year when we went, we moved exactly one week before, and the whole time was very stressful. Therefore, I didn't enjoy the vacation as much as normal. The thought of coming home to a sea of boxes really stunk. This year, I'm going to really enjoy vacation!!

Hello everyone! Just wondering what you all make for your husbands departments for dinner? The auxiliary makes dinner for the guys on there monthly meeting night and I am sure they are getting sick of the usuals....goulash, ziti, chili, lasagna....Any new ideas to share that the guys usually really like? My DH is a volunteer fireman for our town and has never had to be at the station for dinner (he just leaves for calls during our dinners at home oops, did I say that ) Seriously though, this is a good question. Mad4Mickey on this thread I think does dinners for her station. Hopefully she will see this and be able to give you some ideas.

Same here! The only dinners our firefighters get is Christmas-season dinner and a summer cookout...and even then the food is coordinated by firefighters and their spouses. (We have an auxilliary but they don't do dinners anymore. Not really sure what they do. )

Thanks anyways! I am the president of the auxiliary for my husbands department and I always make things that have tomato sauce or pasta, because hey lets face it these guys can eat and pasta goes along ways. I am just looking for some new ideas.....maybe someothers will have some ideas for something different.

Hello everyone. We are doing OK here. We have a small generator so we can run our refrigerator, tv and a small window unit A.C. and that is an incredible blessing! I keep seeing & hearing about the devastation in MS and LA and it is horrible. I wish more people had evacuated. I just have these incredible feelings of loss and anger. Please keep praying for everyone affected by the storm. Thank you everyone for remembering me and my family! It really means alot!
