Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Kim you are definately the Disney pro, I'm just learning. I am a little freaked out cause Randy's cousin and his wife have left me in charge of planning and I don't think I like that.

I'm not really the pro anymore Dor, Rory has taken over, but I keep up as best I can. And, I'm always learning too! Disney is always changing and updating!

Whatever you do for Randy's cousin and family will be far more than they EVER would have seen/done on their own if they had air & hotel only, if you know what I mean, and I think you do since you know so much about ADRs and character meals, etc. already! I'm ashamed to say I knew NOTHING about WDW my first few trips! We did NOTHING besides the usual rides and shows. NOTHING was booked in advance in the parks! I was so lame, but I still LOVED it, obviously! The DIS and the people here are SOO supportive and helpful! Throw out a question, see what happens! All I know, I learned here!


P.S. I thought it was Randy that was gonna be drinking?? Glad you had fun!

Well, it's the start of another week.

Did you all have a good Mother's Day?
Mine was good. Kevin and the girls helped clean the house, my family came over, spent some time with my neighbors, and then had a pretty relaxing evening reading my book (The DaVinchi Code - yes, I'm still reading it )


Thanks to all that advised me to sell my clothes at the garage sale first. I asked my friend the same question, and she told me that the store is likely to NOT accept things that aren't ironed. I said, "forget that! I don't have time to do that". So I will definitly do the garage sale first Someone asked me when it is, and we don't have a definite date yet. We have 3 attics, and I've gone through one, and I need to go through the next one (Kevin's is the 3rd -it's the one over the garage). With me working on Saturday's, it's been hard for me to do this, because on Sunday's I"m doing everything else around the house. I do think it's going to be in June, but my neighbors and I need to set an actual date.

Hi gang! I hope everyone had a fabulous Mother's Day. I got a Mickey bracelet and a Mother's Day pin that dh and ds bought while were in Disney last month. So sweet!

I am totally in a panic today. It just dawned on me that we are leaving for a baseball tournament in New Your in one month. Our plans included coming home through Canada so we can stop in Niagra Falls and Toronto. But...the glitch...passports! My passport and ds passport are expired. I have to work on this ASAP. If we can't get the passports then we won't do Canada. This is so not like me!

DG - Glad your dad is home and feeling better. How was the fundraiser. PM your fundraiser link. I had planned to donate way back when and failed to do so.

Dorene - Welcome! Can't wait to hear about your upcoming trip.

Becky - Congrats to your daughter!

I am in for a busy week driving my ds around - possibly 3 volleyball games, 2 baseball games, one band concert, a game at Silver Cross field we won't probably make, and Great America on Friday.

Good Morning Everyone! Sorry I've been a terrible Dis-er lately. It was a crazy weekend. Friday was our bowling fundraiser that was a terrific success and a whole lot of fun! Saturday was the surprise alumni concert in honor of my high school choir directors retirement. He was very surprised and touched. We had about 300 audience members and 70ish singers! Sunday was Mike's bday and obviously Mothers Day. So happy belated Mom's day to all of you out there! I cleaned the house went to the cemetary, ran some errands then went to mike's for dinner and cake! (it was an ice cream cake, yum) Then, yesterday, I had the day off. I slept in a little then took our SIGNED CONTRACT for the wedding to the post office!!! Wahoo! Afterwards I spent the entire day with Michael. He leaves for Germany today so it was nice to just hang out and spend the day with him.

I am so annoyed! Why is it when Directv goes out I have to pay for the service call? It's their equipment and we didn't do anything to it. Sorry had to vent, sometimes all this new technology really sucks!

Hi everyone! Hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. I worked-just like I worked all weekend, but I do have some nice WDW spending money to show for it! The dcs got me flowers and ds also bought me jewelry (he is so sweet and loves to buy me jewelry). Dh got me a new camera (just what I wanted) for WDW.
DGR- I like when you cancel cable they charge you a fee...thanks for the going away present. BTW, my BIL teachsd in HS in Huntley.
Slo-I've never read The Davinci code. We have it, just never picked it up.
momto- Good luck. Are passports taking as long as they were a year or so ago? Weren't they really behind?
Kim- Are you the WDW pro in your family? In mine, it's either my sister or me (I think it's me!).

Morning guys! Well, I'm on a frantic search for our video camera. DD12 has her band concert tonight and DH cannot come. He's the techie in the house so I asked him to be sure to have the camera ready for me, well he forgot and now we can't find it! Ugh, I have no idea where it could have gone?!

DH took a vaca day yesterday and we had a very nice day. After dropping the girls off at school we worked out at the YMCA, went out to lunch and did a bit of shopping. It was a beautiful day.

paint - so sorry you had to work Mother's Day but glad you got some $$ for your trip. I'll PM you our schedule, let me know yours and maybe we can meet up.

Dorene - I'm not a real big fan of either cable or any other service, they don't seem to work as they promissed and the fees are crazy!

disneygal - wow, busy busy! Happy Belated b-day to Mike!! Congrats on getting the contract back out in the mail. Isn't it great getting things done!

momto1 - Check out this link about travel to Canada http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1082.html . Looks like you might be OK with those expired passports as long as you're driving, you are req'd to have a current passport if flying.

slo - I have NOT ironed my clothes before taking them to OUAC, as long as they aren't crazy wrinkled I'm sure it will be fine. You will be better off waiting to take them until after the garage sale though.

Becky - congrats to DD on being named an Ambassador!

Hi gang! It is hard to believe the bomb threats and all at Lockport HS. Right in my backyard. I hope they figure out what is going on and without more closing or injuries.

DS volleyball team lost in the 1st game of conference so they are done for the season. Bummer...but it is 2 less games we have to work around this week.

I am so far behind in making ds summer plans. He has gone to Brookfield Zoo camp for several years. Last night when I went to register they are all full! So, he is on the waiting list. He will not be happy to go to YMCA day camp all summer.

Slo - Thanks for the good luck wishes. I think I am going to need them.

DG - Happy belated birthday to Mike. It sounds like you had a great weekend.

Dorene - Maybe this is why I don't have cable. Just good old fashioned antenna.

Paint - sounds like a great Mother's Day you had eventhough you had to work. I wish my dh was a little more free in the jewlery buying.

It USED to be me! But then I got bro on board, and Dorene followed on her own. My youngest bro Rory is DVC now, so obviously the Pro now! His trip counts are ALMOST as much as mine, but he's done it over a shorter period of time! Luv the Mouse!!

What a wet soggy day

Yesterday was a busy busy day.
Went to my Leads Group, came home and grabbed Katie, rushed to work, went to a Chamber of Commerce function at 5pm, at 6:10 Kevin calls me to remind me I have to take Stephanie to church/CCD for May Crowning that starts at 6:30 (he had a town meeting), naturally I forgot, so I quickly left the Chamber function to rush home, grab the girls, rush to church, then finally after that I was able to come home (My Saturday was very similiar to this). Today should not be as crazy.


DG - Sounds like you've been busy too. Why is Michael going to Germany?

dgr - I can't believe they charge you - that stinks!!!! I would call them and complain - I really would!!!

paint - That's great about the extra money $$$. Sometimes it stinks to work on certain days, but the rewards can be great!!!

ID - Were you able to find your video camera? We have one, but I haven't used it in forever, because the battery is bad. We need to get a new one (battery), and naturally, I don't remember to do that until the day I need it.

momto1 - A bomb threat - how scary!!!! Did you hear any new information about it?

Kim - I agree - Love the Mouse!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone! got to work waaaaaaaaaay early today! I hitched a ride with my dad rather than taking the train. I don't mind coming early, there's less people and cars out to deal with.

Slo ~ He went with his family on vacation. They asked if I wanted to go but I didn't want to take too much time off of work. I'm saving up my days for the wedding!

DGR ~ sorry to hear about DirectTV. It really makes no sense for you to pay when it's their fault you're calling!

Morning guys! Yes, I found the camera. After much searching I remembered that when I got my new Baggalini for the trip I had packed it with our usual stuff (including the video camera) to see if it would work and I forgot to take it out.

The concert was very good although long. They have 2 bands, beginner and concert and then the 7th/8th grade choir sang. All told it was 1.5hrs.

Today the girls have a doctor appointment, so not looking forward to any possible shots. They should be OK with it but Friday I have to take DS and he will be VERY difficult if shots are needed.

disneygal - I would want to save up my vaca time too.
slo - hope you have a more relaxing day today!
momto1 - yikes! Bomb threats!! I haven't been following the news for the past couple of days. I hope all is OK now.

Well, I guess I'd better go and shower since I have to pick the girls up from school by 10a to get to their doctor appt. Have a great day everyone! Stay dry!!

Today is finally DD exhibition day at school. I copied our whale watch and a little public service announcement by DD to a disk for her late last night. Worked in our DVD player-she just called and said it needs to be formatted to play in the DVD player at school.Not sure how to accomplish this now.
Used book sale, last GE classes at work, new computer classes at work for another system we have to know, cookie day tomorrow, band concert tomorrow after ballet and baseball game, ballet demonstration Friday. Is it summer vacation yet?
Better go see what I can do to solve DD DVD dilemma.

KimRaye- I did get the converter box. We have more channels with it! Do I see from your siggie that you lost 72 pounds on WW? That is great! I am doing WW for about the 3rd time and finally having some success.

ID - Your concert sounds like ours last night. And, choir and band awards were given out during the concert! It was good though.

Tiggern2 - Good luck on the DVD conversion. That would definitely not be something I could do.

Yes, I lost 72 on WW, 75 on WISH, even 80 actually, total, but never claimed that clippie because I KNEW I wouldn't/couldn't sustain that. I looked not-so-good at that point. I WISH I could get that loss back now tho!!! I gained back too much, and I've been trying for over 2 months now to lose again, and my old body is just not cooperating like it did 5-6 years ago. It's refusing to lose! WW is an excellent, normal, live-your-life as you should program, just modify. I'm so glad it's working for you!! Keep me posted, please?

What a night I hope everyone is ok this morning. How's everyone that lives south? We just had lots of rain wind and lightening. I need to go pick up garbage this morning. Today is garbage day of course everyones cans are all over.
