Today I have the day off from work, dentist, dry cleaners, then more decorating, (OK, did I say I had a day off from work?) I guess I meant a day off from the office.

Thanks, Andy for the :wizard:

You're welcome Elaine!!! My mom can feel for you. On Friday morning she was taking her car to the repair shop to get checked out, she was about two blocks from the repair shop when the transmissiion started banging and clanging. She was able to coast into the shop's parking lot just as the transmission fell out of the car. The car is supposed to be ready to be picked up this Wednesday.

Picked up my car today, complete with a new Fuel Pump. $$$$ Merry Christmas to me!!! But, what are you supposed to do. I need a car to get to work and about. This is actually the first $$ we have had to put into it. So i really do count myself lucky. Andy, I hope your mom's wallet fared better than mine.

I hope everyone has a good week.

Let's just say, it wasn't cheap to be repaired. :faint: But like you Elaine, she needs the car for work, and to do her running about as well.

When it rains it pours I guess.

Beth's car the check engine light came on, when brought it to the dealer,
The code indicates the vent control vailes in the emission system have to be replaced.

Then last night, while I was laying on the couch, our dog jumped up on my and his paw hit my eye and strached it.

I have to take some eye drops for the next week, but the DR indicates it will heal fine.

Another member of the car care club here. Earlier in the fall I noticed problems with my power steering. The steering wheel would squeak every time I made a hard turn. And I know that wasn't Mickey Mouse talking to me.

Oh I knew that one was going to be costly. It was.

Plus, we bought out the lease on the car so I had to get new license plates. Well the front plates unscrewed easily but the screws on the rear plate were completely rusted and wouldn't budge. So DH had to rip out the plate.

So when the car was getting serviced I asked to get the rear license plate fixed.

Well - that turned out to be a major problem as the entire rear panel had to be taken off to get access to the housing for the license plate.

Sheesh.

Ed....I don't know what to say. You would think being confined to a leg brace would keep you safe.

Moving your leg in 20 degree increments???? - wow - that was some damage you did.

A month ago I sprained my ankle. Did it at the gym when I was running and tripped and my ankle buckled. I can walk with no problems but still can't run. There's a phyical therapist at my gym and I talked to him yesterday. He said the tendon damage I did will take another month to heal.

DS had a sleepover birthday party on Saturday. We had seven 11-12 year old boys stay over. They pulled an all-nighter. DH and I went to bed around midnight and DH got up at 6:30am to cook the boys breakfast.

Yes, we survived. One broken doorknob, one broken door stopper and one missing VCR remote.

I was listening to the Jets game on Sunday as I was cleaning up and the music being played at Giants stadium was a bunch of songs we heard on DCL cruises back in 2004 and earlier. That was too funny. Talk about a blast from the past.

This morning when I was on my way to Rockaway Mall I heard two songs I heard on the cruise I was loving it.

Well the Car is fixed , thats another $460.00 down the drain.
The eye is healing well, and I went to the leg Dr today.
Instead of 20 degrees he set it for 30. He almost did 45 but decided on 30 for now. I go back in 2 weeks for another change. It is healing well too.

Ho Ho Ho,

Hi everyone :wave2:

Ed: SO sorry to hear about your leg, your eye, and your car!! I'm glad everything seems to be going well now. :)

To everyone else with car problems: Sorry about your car troubles. The idea of having a major car repair expense seems to always loom over all of us since it often seems that there's no way to predict when we'll have to come up with a lot of money for car repairs! :confused3

I hope everyone is doing well. :grouphug: Another winter season is quickly approaching. I was just watching Good Morning America and I can't believe the blizzard out in the mid-west!! :cold:

Hi everyone:

I'm off of work for a couple of days because of a pinched nerve in my neck. I was in excruciating pain on SUnday and got to the doctor yesterday and now I have 2 prescriptions which seem to be helping.

Doreen: The boys are doing great, thanks. :) Congrats to Daniel on his Honors Classes! How is Jaclyn enjoying her senior year? :teacher: I"m glad you're finally starting to feel better from your surgery.

Andy: How is Angelina liking her new job? :smooth:

As soon as John and the boys leave for the day I'll be taking more medication and drifting off. :cloud9: lol I can only take the medication twice a day, and it pretty much knocks me for a loop. lol

Oh yeah, on Saturday my computer died. Last night John bought a new hard drive for it, so I still don't know whether I've lost everything on the old one or not, until he has the chance to get it back online and check it out. I really am hoping that I didn't lose everything. :surfweb:

I hope everyone is doing well :grouphug:

Terry, sorry to hear about the pinched nerve. I hope you feel 100% real soon!!!

Angelina is enjoying her job, she likes helping the "younger" girls selecting clothes. Angelina got her first paycheck on Friday after school, then went Christmas shopping Friday night with her best friend Trish.

Trying to deal with this cold weather, been having trouble with pain and stiff knees, but life and work goes on.

My mom said her car is like "floating on a cloud" :cloud9: since her new transmission was installed, that's just what I wanted to hear!!!

Oh well, it's time to get this old body on the move and get my day under way.

 for now!!!

Several of our August Double-Dippers have responded to this thread, why not check this thread out and give the last of the 2006 double-dippers a nice send off, they leave this coming Saturday. Click here: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1292545

BTW, I received a "Twice the Magic" baseball cap in the mail last week from a very sweet DCL Terminal CM who heard that I had left my cap on the ship in August!!! :goodvibes

I'm more excited for December 27th this year then I am for christmas, and the reason for that is because I am going to Atlantic City and meeting up with some boardies. And going to the House Of Blues.
