C25K! Anyone else in?

I took the last 2 days off. Friday I worked late and today I spent wandering around Epcot all day. Wish me luck W8D3 tomorrow. Yikes. I have not taken off 2 days in a row before although I walked a ton today.

At least you are walking!! And at Epcot, even better!! I took off the past 2 days also and am feeling guilty...I am looking forward to running this morning to get back into the swing of things!

OK, I start W1D1 tomorrow. I am so nervous!

Good luck, you'll love, LOVE it!!

Update: it's been slow but i'm FINALLY nearing W2D1. I am so excited and have even lost 6 pounds.

On a side note, I felt a little dizzy coming off of the last run, any thoughts?

Not sure why you would be dizzy, but obviously if you become dizzy or light-headed during the run, you should stop.

That happened to me a couple of times. Hydration, a little caloric boost, vitamins. Something else I read was breathing tooo deeply, something with carbon monoxide?

W5D2 down. Guess what?? I can run for 8 minutes without stopping! A month ago, I could barely run 1 without stopping! The turtle is back.... it was sloww.... but that's okay! I did it!:cool1:

W8D3 done!! this week had kicked my butt. Working nearly full time has really taken its toll on my rest. :rotfl: My last week coming up and 3/30 min runs. Yikes. Today was hard again. I hate days like that. I think I did to much I spent the day at the beach before I ran.

This happens to me all the time with the longer runs. I also think it has something to do with the breathing pattern changing. It passes quickly so I have not really said anything here about it. When I stop I feel kind of light headed. Is how I can best describe it. Maybe the drastic slowing of your heart rate from a run to a walk?? I think it is normal my husband has this happen too and he has ran for years.

I bought a Nike+ wristband thing but, I think I might take it back. You are supposed to calibrate it and I can't run the minimum 1/4mi to do it. DH says "sure you can". UM no I really can't. He is so sweet. :cutie:

Oh no!! I passed the girls selling them at the grocery store today and I had to say no!! :scared1: My daughter is still only a Daisy so I have few more years until I have no choice!! :rotfl:

Good luck!! :sad2:

My girl is a Brownie. I bought 4 boxes for us and then bought 6 more through the 'donate to charity' program! That way I gave her 10 boxes, but I only had to avoid 4 in my house. :)

So, I'm pretty much considering myself graduated at this point. I'm technically still on the last week (run 30 minutes), but as of Friday, I ran the entire 5K distance. Of course, that meant I was running 46 minutes, not 30!

I think my plan will be to continue to run 30 minutes 3-4 times per week with one day of running 3 miles per week. I have the WISH St. Patrick's Day 5K coming up next weekend and I have an official 5K that I'm going to do on April 11th. After that, I'd like to start preparing to run the 1/2 marathon at Disneyland in September. Most plans for a 1/2 marathon seem to start with a base of 3 miles and run for 12 weeks. That means I should start prepping for the 1/2 on the second weekend of June. That gives me two months between the April 5K and the beginning of the training in June when I'm not sure what to do other than keep running for 30 minutes or 3 miles. Any suggestions?

Officially starting Week Five this week. Started it last week but got sick and couldn't do much of anything. On Saturday I was able to get outside and do Day One again. I was very stuffy and having trouble breathing, but I did it, and it wasn't too bad. Still, I want to start it over since I am feeling better so I can have two good workout days before I hit the big 2-0!

I DID IT!
It wasn't too bad. I don't think I could have gone a second longer on the running parts. I did end up cutting my cool down short by two minutes. Before my last run my left foot was going numb and my ankle was hurting pretty badly. I got through it though and now it feels better. I don't know what the deal was.

Congrats on finishing day one!! Hope your ankle is ok. Do you have good support in your shoes? I'm new to this too, but that's the first thing I would think of.
Oh, and last week, I didn't think I could run a second past one minute, but just did W2D1, and jogged for 90 seconds, six times!!
It's so nice to read about everyone elses' struggles and successes on this road, and to see how it really can be done.

I thought of that too. I do have good shoes however I did use my newish ones that I have only wore a few times. I used to be an asst. manager of a very nice shoe store a long time ago so good shoes are one of my top priorities at all times. :goodvibes I am thinking maybe I will stick a bit of an arch support in that one and see what happens.

Congrats one starting W2!!!

After W.W. weigh in tonight me and hubby are going to do w1d2. I can do it. Same thing as day 1 just without the kids with us. ;)

This may not have anything to do with what you felt, but the first week or two that I did the program, I had burning pain in the tops of my feet, ankle, shin area. For me, it was just a matter of those parts getting used to being used in a new way. It went away and I have no pain in those areas at all anymore. Just a thought.
