Has anyone had their bouquet preserved? If so, who did you use and did you like the results?

I hadn't even thought about this until today. I know DFTW recommends Keepsake Floral, but wanted to see if anyone had done it before.

Thanks!!

I wish I would have done it.....Caryn did it and posted pics in her TR I think...it is beautiful. After I saw her's I wish I would have done it...now my flowers are all dried up and ugly haning in my moms basement lol.

Thanks Lynn!
I'm sure that if I don't do it, I'll regret it very quickly. But there's also the part of me that wonders if it is really worth the money. :confused3
I'll take a look at Caryn's TR and see.

I just got mine back about 2 weeks ago and it is amazing! I had them take some of the extra flowers and had an ornament made too. I went through Keepsake and ended up including our program, a photo, DH's boutonneire along with my bouquet and our invitation. It's an 18x20 frame :rotfl: we're going to be putting it in our livingroom. At first, I was a little nervous because I spent a little more than I originally intended, but after seeing the final product the money was well spent. I will try to post pictures soon, but it might be a little while since I'm leaving for a business trip in a few days :upsidedow I do promise to post as soon as I get a chance though. I'm so glad I spent the money, I don't regret it at all :cool1:

i love my keepsake, they did an amazing job with it. i still can't believe how beautiful it is!

Another thought I had while reading this was that you could always find someone to recreate your bouquet using silk flowers. I wish I had done this after we got married. I guess I still could because I have pictures. There is no way I could've had my bouquet preserved as it was a big cascading thing that had greenery that hung almost to the floor and weighed about 10 lbs. It was huge!!

I thought if we ever did a vow renewal at Disney I'd get my bouquet(s) from an online source that specializes in silk creations. I've seen some that are absolutely stunning and you'd never know that they were not real.

I had mine done by Keepsake and LOVE IT (so worth every penny to me)!

Disney can recreate your bouquet for you if you are going to be in the area - I know several brides who have had this done.

Here is my recreation

and the original bouquet by Disney Floral - flowers look a lot more "red" in this photo below than wine and they were pretty much wine color.

OHHH so when I go back I can have them make my bouquet again and have keepsake preserve it???

Yes you can have them make a bouquet for you. I was going to have my bouquet made up for me when we went to WDW in June, I just emailed Rose and she said it was no problem and it is actually requested more than you think it is. I guess there are a lot of brides out there like us that wait until long after the wedding to preserve their bouquets..lol

WOW, thats really cool? Do many places do this? My great grandfather was a florist and my gram has a picture with beautiful flowers in a frame like Caryn's, that i have always loved!! Wish he were still around ;/

very beautiful ladies!

First I want to say that I did not preserve my flowers, so I'm slightly off topic. As I said, I did not get it done and I do not regret it. There are so many things that we can keep to remember the day that I was afraid that it would end up with a shrine to my wedding. I tried to pick and choose what I would keep. I just didn't want to have my bouquet hanging up on the wall 5 years from now collecting dust. It didn't seem worth the money for something I feel that I would only really cherish for a short period of time. That is just me and my feelings. I'm sure the other brides feel more sentimental towards their bouquets.

I did keep the ribbon and some of the crystals from my bouquet for my scrapbook.

Amen to that, sister! ...Although I think I've already veered dangerously into shrine territory by putting my necklace on display in a cake dome. :rotfl:

Personally, I would rather get a small fresh floral arrangement that looks like my bouquet every year on my anniversary. :lovestruc

I am sooo loving that idea!! :thumbsup2

Although, I love the preserved ones too - Im rubbish at making decisions :confused3

Thanks everyone!
PrincessBride07 and lurkyloo, I was having the same thoughts. I have so much as it is that I plan on keeping that I don't know if my bouquet would just become "another thing" that I had.

I really wasn't interested in choosing flowers for any part of the wedding, but I had a few pictures of bouquets I liked so I went with that. Honestly, I don't think I'll be able to tell if it's really different from the pictures. We're not even having flowers at the reception.

So I'm hoping that I don't fall in love with my bouquet...

For some strange reason, my bouquet was very important to me. Even more so than my dress (which I recently found in a ball in a canvas bag at the bottom of a closet:rolleyes: but I digress...)

I wanted to have mine preserved but simply couldn't afford it. I had found a website where someone painted a watercolor portrait of your bouquet and thought that was a great option! Unfortunately, when I got married, they had gone out of business. I'm still thinking that's another option for me someday. I took lots and lots of pics of my bouquet in the hope that I could have a portrait done of them...someday...

Just another option to think of...
