Blue Sky Rumor: Ride coming to UK Pavilion?

That's the rumor.

I hope it's true. The one issue is that GFT doesn't have the queue space that FEA has. I don't know how they'd handle a super popular attraction there.

A Coco overlay wouldn't necessarily be super popular...but just saying.

I am only 27 so Epcot was built before I was born. But things have to change and adapt. Also, beware of nostalgia! It's lying to you! lol.

The silliness of this statement is that you actually have no idea what Epcot is saying to those have a memory of its whole existence. I'm the youngest of that group...but it's not a coincidental that those older than I are the most critical of how little they've cared for 20 years.

Your entire history of Epcot has been when it's been low priority. Cheering for scraps like the occasional soarin while they mothballed an entire pavilion and destroyed another in front of us.

I can tolerate the overlays...but not replacing wonders of life is beyond excuse.

I wasn't talking about Epcot specifically, just nostalgia bias in general. Tons of studies have shown people over appreciate things in the past. We only remember the good and forget the bad.

I would've loved to see Epcot in its glory with world of motion and horizons as well as the original figment.

I just watched a Dis Unplugged episode where Kevin (who's been going to WDW since it opened) was talking about how Horizons was very boring and it's all nostalgia that makes people miss it.

25 minutes in.

Which is a minuscule percentage compared to the rest of the real world outside the resort gates.
Agreed. But the video is a tourism promotion video, so what matters is the TOURISM parts of Mexico. I get it. I've been to Mexico City on business many times. My company has arranged security services to pick me up, chauffeur me around, and put me in a guarded hotel because several times there was a spate of kidnappings and ransoming of foreign business people. I get that Mexico, and Mexican resorts, are different. But the video from 1982 is clearly a tourist video. It is out of date compared to the tourist offerings and should have been updated instead of a cartoon overlay dropped over top. And with that, my forehead is bloody from banging the desk, so I'll give up.

It's all personal opinion. I don't get the hype over Soarin but people love it. My favorite park is AK yet people skip it.

I love AK too. It's definitely my favorite in terms of theming and shade (so many trees :)). I think it's my second favorite overall.

Once Pandora opens I might even rank it higher than Epcot.

While unrealistic in terms of it being something Disney would never implement, I think more people actually want to see this, but the problem is, Disney is teaching the culture without the backing of the country. Hence the reason why Maelstrom disappeared - Norway no longer cared.

I'd love to see Mulan attraction introducing us to China
I'd love to see Belle and Beast introducing us to France
I'd love to see Jasmine and Aladdin introduce us to Morocco.
Etc...

I feel Mexico does this slightly. There's a ride, featuring IP, that takes us through the different terrains, festival, and costumes of Mexico. It's movie looks as if it's from 1977... but we can't have it all. However, the concept is there and it's a great concept, imo.

Considering The Three Caballeros film was basically a travelogue, I think it fits nicely into the Mexico ride.
Now you can argue about the actual quality of the attraction, but for theming it works.

I love AK too.

I recently watched videos of World of Motion and Horizons and they still remain brilliant in my eyes. Test Track and the space thing don't compare which has nothing to do with nostalgia. But they're gone so we make due at least in some cases.

I love Mission Space. I think it's one of the most underrated attractions in WDW.

I can't stand it. Tight, enclosed space doesn't work for me besides it replaced my favorite Epcot attraction. I do like Gary Sinise though.

Fair enough.

One thing that I think we can all agree on is that it would be better if they built completely new attractions in new places rather than replacing old ones...although that'll never happen.

I'm not disagreeing. I am just saying the overlay is a bit dated.

As much as I love Gran Fiesta Tour, The Three Caballeros are about as relevant to the general public as Make Mine Music and The Black Cauldron. If we're talking how it fits in the pavilion, at least Three Caballeros is about Mexico

While the ride is about Mexico, the "Three Caballeros" is only 1/3 about Mexico. Jose Carioca is Brazilian and Donald Duck is American. Only Panchito Pistoles is Mexican...

Right, I understand the film shows more than just Mexico, but at least both have an emphasis on exposing us to parts of Mexican culture rather than a plot that just happens to be set in a specific country like Norway....err, Arendelle.

Oh, BTW, I didn't know Panchito had a last name...thanks.

The source material is about discovering Latin America, primarily Mexico for The Three Caballeros
