I think Jay must feel sorry for me ... when I told him what kind of cake I wanted to order for my birthday he just said, "OK...whatever you want."

That means he thinks that once the drugs clear my system I won't remember or he's hoping the Grand Floridian bakery will tell me to buzz off.

I'll share my cake vision with you ... I want a two-tier mad hatter cake. I'm going to ask that one layer be yellow cake with chocolate amaretto mousse filling and the other layer marble cake with chocolate & bailey's Irish cream mousse. As for the decoration ... I'd like purple and green fondant for one layer and blue and yellow for the other with gold piping for the trim. To top it off I'm going to ask if they can place an edible Goofy statue holding a bunch of balloons on the top layer (Goofy is my favorite ... surprise surprise).

sounds expensive, doesn't it?

I think it will be totally awesome and wouldn't you guys like to eat fancy schmancy GF cake at our DISmeet?

Thanks guys ... I did sleep last night (thank you vicodin) but feel a lot worse today - mobility is really limited in my right shoulder and arm. I'm going in to finish a loan request for tomorrow's loan committee and then I'm coming home - I'm going to work from the house tomorrow and go back to the office on Friday.

And I'm getting ready to call the other bank and reschedule. I don't think there is much point in my meeting with them when I can barely stand to put clothes on right now and am walking around in a fog. And if they don't want to reschedule then they're not the kind of organization I want to work for in the first place.

Those are my favorite kind of "fancy" cakes! We had one made by Kroger's (so not terribly fancy) for dd's 6th birthday and it was very cute. Have you seen the picture on the cake thread from a couple years back? I'm thinking it wasn't too far into the first thread and it was a beautiful Mad Hatter. I'm not telling you how much it reportedly cost back then! You only turn 40 once!

I hope we won't see an episode of "Bendy Behaving Badly" after the interview today.

Hi Brenda, I thought I'd just drop in here to say hello, I love your cake vision I've been spending a lot of time on the Weddings Board here over the past year and I've read a lot about cakes lol! Quite a few brides have had the two tier Mad Hatter cake and the price is $450 plus tax I'm not sure how much extra they'd charge you for your Goofy topper though. I'm sure there would be plenty to go round at your Dismeet - the two tier Mad Hatter cake serves 50.

I have to say that our VR cake was delicious (pic in my siggy), we had marble cake with chocolate mousse for the bottom tier and chocolate cake with strawberry mousse for the top.

I'm sure your birthday celebration will be wonderful, we also celebrated my birthday at WDW in April (dinner at Narcoossees). I enjoyed myself that day too, I had a great time spending my gift card!

I might have dates, but they're not booked. DH has a conference to go to Oct 23rd - 25th ??? I think those are the dates and we may possibly add a day or 2. Conference is at the Contemporary, so we'll probably stay there.

It's been a frustrating week.....got home late Sunday night and didn't sleep much the whole time I was gone. Monday the computer/internet/router kept flaking out and I kept trying to do things but accomplished nothing. Still having issues, but it' better. Took all afternoon yesterday to upload the 200+ pictures on to photobucket. Today I tried to do the trip report directly on my blog, but couldn't get the pictures to work and then the spell check locked up the whole damn thing

Is it time to start drinking yet?
I'll start writing and posting it here soon, maybe tonight

I can also almost guarantee that we'll be there for the meet...that 40% off code was too much to resist, plus we got $50 off per airfare ticket. Thanks for the link ... I've not spoken with anyone yet so I don't know if they will do what I want or if we're willing to spend that much on it. Anything over $150 is liable to push the idea right into the disposal.

Kabuki ... as long as folks bring some beverage with them that's all that's needed. One way or another we'll have a cake or something tasty to go along with the adult beverages.
