I made a sentimental favorite tonight. It was my Grandma's "fancy" dish. They lived on a farm so it didn't take much for it to be fancy.

I don't even know if it has a name....It's really thin, boneless, skinless chicken breasts....seasoned with salt and garlic. Then put a couple of pieces of pastrami on the chicken & roll it up. Then you wrap the bundle in a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick.... The sauce that goes on top is cream of mushroom and cream of chicken mixed...
It gets some of the bacon flavor into it and it's soo good.

I'm waiting for my heavenly little bundles to finish cooking!

Exactly! How did 12 oz. of fish turn into 6 fish sticks??? I let dd and dh have the perch and I had Banquet chicken tenders..

Last week I started having really bad shoulder pain which I blew off because I always have some kind of ache or pain; by Friday it was gone but that whole area was really itchy and had an annoying burning sensation that didn't go away all weekend. Today the pain was back and I noticed a weird rash ... went to the doctor this afternoon and .... like our house ... I have shingles.



I thought that was an old person's problem.

Oh well, better now than October, right?

Yes ... if you've had chicken pox then you are at risk for shingles although it's more common in people who are in their 50s & 60s. My doctor said since my immune system is already mucked up he's not surprised that I ended up with sooner ratherr than later.

Lemme see ... I had chicken pox when I was four years old ... I guess a 35-year dormancy isn't so bad.

Jay and I are going to play Mario Kart on the wii ... I suck under normal circumstances but he thinks it will be really funny to watch me play while I'm doped up. The things I do for my hubby.

Poor Brenda

I'm sure you caught shingles because of your immune system. Hopefully your doctor gave you some steroids to help with the pain. I work in a nursing home type place where older people do get shingles but stress and or a compromised immune system ( like yours) can get them quite easily. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks everyone for your nice virtual health wishes ... I told my doctor yesterday that I really wanted to go an entire year without seeing him, nothing personal, but you know ... .

He said ... "good luck."

And then later Jay said, "You're probably putting his kids through college singlehandedly."

And I can tell you that yes ... shingles is actually quite painful. Yesterday it wasn't too bad but today I'd like to destroy something because it's bad.

I wish I could at least work from home today but we're so short staffed that I just can't do it. If you hear about a doped up St. Louis lady who accidentally parks her car on the tarmac at the airport it may be me ...
