I'm not sure that we should. Requests are requests with
DVC. Booking categories (like the 2 Bedroom issue Jen ran into) are a different kettle of fish, but everything going on here is not being happy not having requests met.
DVC operates at high occupancy. Most times of the year, someone is going to have to be in a less desirable room. A tree will block their view, it will be on the "wrong" floor, it will be a HA room for a family that doesn't need it, it may be the balcony-less room at VWL or the rooms that face other rooms at BWVs.
All of us members (and some renters) visit DVC over and over again. When someone else consistently turns down undesirable rooms, that means other members are more likely to get them. I don't think that is behavior that is best for the DVC "community." It takes staff time, which impacts us all in terms of dues, and it creates an unfair room situation for other members who are willing to stay in less desirable rooms.
I'm not saying anyone should accept dirty rooms, or rooms obviously in need of major maintenance. But turning down a room because of location is not acceptable to me. She should have been charged the room change fee for every one of those switches - that is what it is there for - to compensate for cleaning and administrative costs in switching rooms.
