Barbie finds her Prince Charming- our English wedding & Disneymoon June 2011!

How beautiful are YOU?!? Such a flattering dress - he is going to rack his brain trying to figure out how he got so lucky :cloud9:

Rings are gorg. I think your wedding band really makes your engagement ring *pop* which is really what we all dream of anyway...

Fantastic Bridesmaids gifts too - im jealous

Hope things continue to go perfectly :) Excited to read more ... and I wish someone bought me pre-wedding gifts each month!!

Sounds like you had a great weekend!

Love the bridesmaid dresses - they all look great! Yay on getting to do the beauty trials and how cool that the beautician was also planning a trip to Disney World! :cool1:

Love the wedding dress pictures - am glad I got to see them this time before they get taken off. The detail and design is incredible :lovestruc

The M&M tee is very cute and am also looking forward to the shops having summer clothes :goodvibes

Thank you!
I was really excited when the makeup artist at Benefit said she was going to WDW.. I was expecting her to say she was staying in a villa in Kissimmee when I asked her, that just seems to be what a lot of Brits do rather than stay on property  lol !! I told her to get a birthday button & wear it everywhere! :wizard:

All of the dresses look fabulous! Especially yours, it's gorgeous! And sounds like you had so so much fun!

Thank you so much! I'm so so pleased with my dress - I think it suits me pretty well & will look good at our venue, quite a classic style but with some sparkle :cutie:

Hi, I followed you here from my PTR. :goodvibes

I'm only on page 2 so far, but I'm really enjoying the read. We got engaged on the very same morning, Christmas 2009! :lovestruc

The place for your wedding looks gorgeous, and I like that you will have subtle Disney touches throughout. :)

Hi! Thanks for reading along - just realised I'm at 50 pages here :surfweb: lol - that's really cool that we got engaged on the same day! It was my best Christmas morning ever :santa: hehe

Aww Emma you look gorgeous and your Bridesmaids look so pretty too, love the colour :goodvibes

Gosh not long now and these 12 weeks will fly by :bride:

Thanks Stefy.. the weeks are flying by already - it'll be April already on Friday  lol

oh wow, you look stunning! Your dress is gorgeous! Love the brides maids dresses as well. Very classic looking. Perfect for a late spring wedding. You've really captured that well.

Thank you so much! I think the theme is really coming together with the colours, dresses & reception room decorations ... fingers crossed we have a lovely warm June day - but in England, that's very hard to predict! ;)

Sounds like you girls had a fun weekend! Those BM dresses look gorgeous-- as does yours, of course! I love the ruching on your gown. I LOVE Benefit make-up! That's so cool that they do bridesmaid make-up trials!

Hi! I was really pleased when I found out Benefit did makeup trials.. I thought it would suit the bridesmaids better to do that then have someone do their makeup... they all wear makeup and know how to put it on, but it's nice to be shown what colours look best & techniques on how to apply it better :cutie:
It didn't cost a lot and the price of the trial you can actually use to buy Benefit products :thumbsup2 (we spent just a little more than that though :rolleyes1 hehe!)

Thank you so much! I'm not used to all these compliments lol.. the shop assistants at the shop kept saying "you look beautiful".. but that's kind of their job, right?!

I'm glad I've picked a plain wedding band.. like you say, it doesn't take away from the diamond on my engagement ring. I take my engagement ring off whenever I'm doing housework/cooking/at the gym because I'm worried about knocking or scratching it - whereas the wedding ring will be easier to wear all the time! :goodvibes:

I love the idea of the pre-wedding gifts, I really wish I had thought of it for my cousin when it was her wedding last year! They started sending them when we were 1 year out.. now I only have 2 more to go! so far I've had...

wedding magazines, a floral clothes hanger (to put my wedding dress on for photos), miniature nail cream & lip gloss (for honeymoon hand luggage), old-fashioned sweets (candy!), tshirt and a Christmas tree decoration :lovestruc

So I'm reading this and thinking "12 weeks..wow, her wedding is soon...wait a minute, isn't mine right before hers?" So I went and counted..10 1/2 weeks?????????? oh man! that sounds so much closer than 70-something days! Also, who made your dress? I can't remember if I said this before, but that looks very similar to the dress I almost got (and am slightly wishing I had gotten!)

Hi! .. I prefer counting the weeks to days at the moment.. feels like the Big Day is getting closer :woohoo:

My dress is by a designer called Rena Zhang.. she has a couple of shops in the UK :goodvibes

I need to catch up on your PJ.. I did start reading it but think I forgot to subscribe! ...

Hi!

Another week has flown by.. not much wedding news to report, but there is a little honeymoon news...

I checked our flights online yesterday, and noticed our seat numbers had changed on the outbound flight :confused3 .. then I realised, the plane type has been changed, so we are now going to be on a 747.. which as the upstairs area.. so our seats our now in the bubble on both flights!!

Virgin_Atlantic_Boeing_747.jpg

so apart from that good news - I got an email from our lovely travel agent today, Disney have released some discounts for Deluxe resorts from May - August! :woohoo:

so.. our options were:

1) take 30% off our existing booking (theme park view at the Grand Floridian)

or...

2) pay $200 less than we currently are paying.. for....

CONCIERGE LEVEL!!

Needless to say... we've chosen the latter! I've read such great things about concierge level from Disney websites & other peoples' trip reports.. it should be amazing!
We will be in the main building of the Grand Floridian too :wizard:

I was thinking about keeping it a secret from DF until we got there.. but then decided I might burst with excitement before then, we still have 11 + weeks to go after all ;)

Really impressed with our TA, she has definitely given us a lot of pixie dust today!!

Emma princess: x

Wow, your travel agent is really on top of things!! $200 less for concierge?! Yup, I'd be taking that, too!! You guys are so lucky-- to be in the main building will be really nice, too.

Wow thats some great pixie dust your TA got for you congrats :goodvibes

Emma, you look absolutely beautiful in your dress!!! You are going to be such a stunning bride! :cloud9:

The bridesmaid dresses look great, too! :thumbsup2 And I love the rings - very classic and timeless.

I am so excited for your that you're upgrading to CL! I was so happy to see the discounts yesterday and then I saw that the Poly is only 25% off instead of 30% like the rest of the deluxes. Still not bad, but I would have like the 30%! I thought about you though. I was like - at lease Emma will get the 30% off! :lmao:

Wow you are sure getting some pixie dust at the minute! :goodvibes

Yay on the flight change and getting CL at GF at a lower rate! :thumbsup2 Have also heard great reviews and am looking forward to hearing what you guys think of the place and having CL during your trip :)

Oh wow, that's so exciting! I can't wait to hear about everything! <3*

Thank you all!
I'm still soo excited, can't quite believe we'll be staying concierge now! I was listening to a podcast a while ago where a couple got upgraded to CL and it sounded amazing, so I was day-dreaming that it might happen to us when we checked in.. and now it really is! :cloud9:
I'm so glad I could share my excitement with you all too.. when I got the email from our TA at work on Friday, there was literally no one I could tell.. my colleagues just didn't understand why it was a big deal! ;)

Hi Courtney!
Aww thank you for the comments about my dress, I'm really happy with it :goodvibes - any idea when your dress will be ready for a fitting? I am going back to try mine on May 7th.. that should be final fitting, then the dress will go to 'live' at my sister's house until the big day! :bride:

10 weeks and a few days to go now... where is time going!??

Few more updates this week!

Honeymoon..

While on the Disney Dream, there is going to be a 'Pirates IN the Caribbean' night pirate: - DF & I both love the POTC movies & the ride at Magic Kingdom! I mentioned to him that some people dress up for the cruise nights, so maybe we could get some bandanas or eye patches to wear.. but he said he'd like to get proper costumes!!

So.. I found a website that sold costumes for reasonable prices.. for DF I got this one..

101347_01_Lg.jpg

It's actually a Disney Jack Sparrow costume! he'll still like a hat, but maybe those will be available on the ship or we'll see one at the gift shop at AKV the night before our cruise :thumbsup2

and for me.. (please excuse the awful picture from the website! lol)

Sassy-Victorian-Pirate-Costume.jpg

It's a pretty good quality dress but it very very short  so I'll be wearing it with leggings!

On Sunday we went shopping for honeymoon things & had a very successful trip! I got flipflops (Havainnas - these are my favourite for theme parks), some shorts & makeup.. DF got tshirts, trainers, socks, hoodie (for the plane!) and a new aftershave for the wedding/honeymoon :thumbsup2
He also got his wedding shoes.. and I bought some princess things in the Disney Store for the young girls that will be at our wedding (rather than the favours the adults will be getting) - it was a great day of shopping! :cloud9:

Thursday marks 75 days until our cruise which means we can start booking our excursions and meals :woohoo:
I believe the website allows bookings from midnight (East Coast time).. which will be 5am here - but I'm determined to set an alarm and get up to book! :surfweb:
We would like to make reservations at:

Palo
Remy
Spa villa or couples massage
Dolphin Encounter at Blue Lagoon (Nassau)
Catamaran snorkel excursion (Castaway Cay)

I've heard it's hard to make the dining reservations but I'm keeping my fingers crossed! If not I think we can join a waiting list/make reservations once onboard?

That's about it.. I'll try to post some photos of the pirate outfits & other things soon!

Emma princess: x

Hi Emma

i have finally caught up! You have planned your wedding amazingly! I cannot wait to see the pictures of the day!!! It is going to be perfect!!! Steve is going to be blown away!!

Great News about the honeymoon - you lucky thing!!!

I can't believe how quickly it is coming round!!! Be single figures for the weeks soon!!!

Sara xx

Definitely sounds like a great day of shopping!! I love buying clothes for vacation.
Definitely take lots of pictures of you guys in the pirate outfits-- I'm sure that night will be so fun!

I actually just got the email that my dress is ready to be picked up! :woohoo: I will probably go sometime next week. I guess I will schedule the fitting then. I can't wait!

I love the pirate costumes you got! It sounds like it's going to be a really fun night! I hope that you get all of the meals and excursions that you want!

And by the way, I've been meaning to ask - what time is you Cali Grill ADR for the 29th? Ours is really early - 5:50 - so we can make it to our Wishes cruise.

You'll never believe, but those are the exact costumes me and DF bought for our first trip to WDW for MNSSHP, we didn't end up wearing them in the end as it was too hot for DF to wear all that material and the dress whilst lovely was quite itchy on the chest area as the material on the edge of the trim was a very hard organza which was quite irritable on the skin. I hope you don't think I am trying to put you off, I just wanted to tell you so you don't go through the same thing we did. Its a great idea though for the party, oh and also you get some bandana and hat type things in your stateroom on the day of :)

Cruise is shaping up pretty well. Palo is going to be amazing and Remy has had nothing but good reviews :)

Do you have a stateroom number yet? Which deck are you on?

Enjoy the 'Pirates in the Caribbean' night - it sounds like fun! Those costumes look cool :cool1: Yay on creating your very own Jack Sparrow lol!

Good luck with getting those cruise reservations :thumbsup2

Btw was watching 'Don't Tell The Bride' yesterday and thinking of you all planning your weddings on here at present. Can you imagine DF taking charge of everything and you sitting back and doing nothing! :lmao:

hehe ... I've not seen "Don't the Tell Bride" yet but heard it's quite funny... didn't one of the grooms spend all the budget on a trip to Vegas rather than the wedding?!
Traditionally I think the groom is supposed to plan the honeymoon while the bride plans the wedding... I can't see my DF spending all this time planning & booking ours :cutie: - as with all our vacations he is happy to let me book it all & he must trust that I'll organise a fun trip!

Hi Sara!
Yes the days & weeks are going by so quickly now.. every Sunday morning I get to say "we're another week closer!" :woohoo: I feel like we've had plenty of time to plan, book & think everything through, so hopefully there'll be minimal stress & worry in the lead up to the big day! :cloud9:

Definitely sounds like a great day of shopping!! I love buying clothes for vacation.

It's great buying new things for a vacation isn't it.. especially one at Disney!
It was quite funny, we got to the mall about 10 minutes before the shops opened (11am on Sundays here!).. and I was almost expecting a rope drop/opening ceremony, like they have at the Disney parks! :haha: people were waiting patiently outside each shop.. we were near the Disney Store too lol.

Our California Grill ressie is at 7.50pm .. but we'll probably get there a bit earlier & have a cocktail at the bar ... I will keep an eye out for you guys! the fireworks cruises depart at 9pm don't they? :goodvibes

Thanks for the advice Stefy :goodvibes - I am thinking the costumes are quite heavy .. but hoping the air-con on the ship & the breeze up on deck will keep us cool?! guess we won't know til we get onboard.. hope we can wear them, if not I'll wear the bandana/hat they give us, didn't know about those! pirate:

Our stateroom is on deck 10.. with a veranda :goodvibes .. I know the room number is on our reservation info - you guys have booked concierge haven't you? that also sounds amazing!

I'm trying to decide what order to try to get the bookings in the morning.. I'm thinking: Remy, Spa (would really like to get one of the couples' villas on our day at sea, I got a bonus at work last week and would love to treat my husband!!), Palo and then the excursions.. can be a bit more flexible on those - sooo excited to try book, bet I can't get to sleep tonight!

Finally finished reading this PJ!

All the wedding details are great. I really love the necklace for the bridesmaid dresses, as well as their dresses. And of course your wedding dress is gorgeous! It gives off this "starry night princess" vibe. :goodvibes

I'm sure both the first night at AKL with the Savannah view as well as concierge level at the Grand Floridian will both be awesome. :)

Have not seen that episode - ooh it sounds interesting! Did see one where the groom decided to go for a surf before the wedding - felt for the bride that was wondering where her husband to be had disappeared to...

I'm sure you'll organise a great trip and sometimes it's good to go against tradition lol!
