Well, sounds like you all are having/had a great time!! :yay:

We are just back ourselves (12:30AM last night) and well into the post-Disney-depression!! :sad1:

We had a great time! We were in the 60s facing the lake/Legendary Years. I didn't see any of you guys I don't think - I kept looking! I did see twinboysmom's window display and a couple of other green Mickey decorated windows, but we didn't have a lot of time to walk around.

We didn't get any official wishes, but I had some magical moments of my own. We saw Wishes from the entrance to Tomorrowland and I saw Tinkerbell fly UP CLOSE for the first time ever - I must admit I was a bit misty! And, I bought myself a gold Princess Aurora crown (still a princess at 36) princess: and I was wearing it the next day at Epcot. We were in France looking around and taking the kids to the Kidcot Fun Stop. We walked out and almost right into Aurora herself. So, we took a picture, both with our crowns. She liked mine better she said because it had more sequins and sparkles ;) And, we got a picture with Figment. Figment has been a favorite of mine since I went in '89. I had no idea there was a Figment character spot and we not only found it, we walked right in and Figment was there :) Also, we had 11:30AM reservations at Le Cellier one day. We arrived early, happy to be waiting in the air conditioning. We met a wonderful cast member who told us so much about his country and interacted so nicely with our kids and us. It was a joy to talk to him. Then, at 11:30AM when the restaurant opened, the entire wait staff came out to the check-in desk and they all sang O Cananda, some in English, some in French. It was great! And, the food there :woohoo: Lots more little things happened that were magical for us, and we had an awesome trip!

My son turned 9 on the 20th, so we got him a birthday button the first day at MK. He received so many Happy Birthdays and special little treats he didn't know what to do! He got ice cream, cupcakes, character-signed birthday cards, a special sign/car on Tomorrowland Speedway, Mickey confetti, Birthday certificate, I can't even remember what else! So, that was a very special treat for all of us as well.

Anyway, can't wait to hear more about your trip! I think I'll go write some restaurant reviews and start planning our next trip!!!!

Hello all, This is packing up and leaving day. Drew and Sam are still asleep. We've pretty much only seen them sleeping, or going and coming, except for the morning they went to Typhoon Lagoon with Trent and Kristi. Trent and Kristi are packing their things. Jill and John have gone to Animal Kingdom to get a picture in front of the Tree of Life and get Brooklynn a t-shirt they saw earlier. We're all going to eat lunch at Caribbean Beach on the way out, since that's the only resort I've never been to. It's right here beside Pop Century, so it'll work well. I'm going to run. Just wanted to touch base. We have lots to tell you and a zillion pictures to share.

Great pics! I can't wait to hear what you thought of Tony's as we will be there in 5 days! Hmm... probably have to wait until we are back and then we can share our opinions!

Hope you had a safe trip home! Get some rest!

Welcome home! I hope you had a safe trip back. Now is about the time the "Disney Blues" are setting in :sad2: Get some R&R and we'll be here when you're ready :goodvibes

I cant wait to see more pictures and hear about your trip.

Good morning all! I'm on my third load of laundry this morning. I have managed to put many things in order from where we came in in the middle of the night and just took everything from the car and put it in the den. The boys are still sleeping, of course. Trent drove the whole way back without a driver exchange at any point because Kristi was working on schoolwork that has a deadline. The rest of us took turns driving the other two cars at different points.

As I was driving in northern Florida, the signs of oranges for sale turned into signs of pecans for sale as I arrived in Georgia. I knew that every mile I drove was one mile closer to being back to reality and one mile closer to saying good-bye to my big girl and her baby girl. Most of the signs I passed, orange, pecan, or other, were slightly blurred with tears as I contemplated going back to a life that would not have them in my physical presence each day. On our trip, Brooklynn would get up early, and Jill would bring her into my room where she and I would snuggle up in bed and talk and eat breakfast together. Then we'd walk outside to see the bunnies and ducks that live at Pop. One morning we ended up playing in the pool by the steps. Some mornings I'd put her in the tub and just let her play. We would read a book or sing a silly song or watch the Disney Channel. That time spent with her will be ever precious to me, and tears fill my eyes even as I write this thinking of how much I love that little girl. She smiles at everyone - family, friend, or stranger - and her smile just makes every minute a blessing to live. When we got out to eat before we separated paths, Jill and John toward Huntsville and the rest of us toward Nashville, there were many tears. Trent and Kristi loved being around Brooklynn, too, and they got misty-eyed, but Jill and I had a little more than mist going. I thanked my eldest for going on this trip with me and hugged her for a long time. She cannot yet know what she means to me and how proud I am of her, but since she has her own daughter, she will grow to know in time. I hope that she will share trips like this one with her own grown children in the future. Jill doesn't realize how much she does and what a good mommy she is. She doesn't weigh a lot more than the backpack she lugged around all week, but she was always up and ready, leading the way. The rest of us carried and pushed Brooklynn as much as we could, but sometimes she only wanted her mommy, and Jill, no matter how exhausted she was, was there with all the love in the world to give her daughter. On the buses, she would hold Brooklynn, and oftentimes Brooklynn would open her mouth wide and kiss all over her mommy's face those good, slobbery baby kisses. She loves her mommy, and I love watching her love her mommy. Anyway, all that comes around to say that this morning, the house is quiet except for the sounds of the washer and dryer. There are no smiles and squeals and no walks to see the ducks and bunnies, and I miss that. Although I never crossed paths with an official Disney Dream Teamer on my trip, the trip was the dream of a million years for me, because nothing in the world makes me happier than being in that place with my family. I hope all of you who are soon on your way will have the greatest of times with your families and realize and appreciate how very, very blessed you are to be able to have trips like this.

We finished out our last couple of hours at Disney by going to Caribbean Beach to eat lunch. We browsed the gift shop for a gift for Kristi's mom. I bought a t-shirt, and Jill got a couple of things, as well. We saw two groups headed for cruises, and that was fun to see their excitement. Trent and Kristi had watched a group already leave as they waited outside on a bench for us, and I'll later share with you a sweet moment they witnessed. We do have tons of pictures to show, but the process will take a few days. Jill says we have about five CD's worth. I can't wait to see them all again and relive each event. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers for safety. We went, we enjoyed, and we can't wait to share it with you. And most of all, we can't wait to go back and do it all over again!!!

As for Dis sightings: We never did see Wingedheart, and unfortunately, we missed Mrs.D. We had a couple of things for her kids, but they couldn't find our room. We ended up right under the jukebox instead of by Lady. We did have some Disers sign our board. I wrote the names down and will share them later, too. The lifeguards enjoyed reading our board, and they wrote messages to us, too. I talked to Avivasmom on the phone, but they were going to MGM and we were in Epcot, so we didn't meet up. We saw 5boyz a few times coming and going. I hope they all had great trips, too, and we'll all be seeing each other on the boards as we enjoy and share our Disney fun!

Cotta - About your Tony's question: We all liked our meals just fine. We had heard negative things about Tony's food, but we were going more for atmosphere and for having a great parade seat. I had the half panini and salad, and the panini was excellent. The salad dressing didn't have much flavor, but it was fine. We all ordered different things, and every meal was large in size and good in taste, we thought. After we were finished, we went out to the closed in part of the porch and had prime viewing for the afternoon parade. They really patrol the porch, too, so only those who are eating there can be up on it.

Hi MeMom,

Awwe, it sounds like you all had a fabulous time. :yay: I know your TR will be great and I am looking forward to it. :goodvibes

I must tell you, your installment (talking about saying goodbye and coming back to reality) well, it had me all choked up. My DS just turned 13 this past week and I guess I am really sensing the fact that he is growing up...and it is happening way to quickly. It is all ssooo bittersweet.

I want to say thanks for sharing. So glad you are all home safely.:)

TTFN,
Darlene

BTW, you are very ambitious.:thumbsup2 ..doing laundry and not even home 12 hours.:laundy: You make me feel lazy;) .

MEMOM! Quit it! You made me cry! :tear: As you know, I am going with my mom and I hope we have half as good a trip as it sounds like you had! Lots of people think it's crazy to take babies to WDW but I have taken my daughter at 3 mo. and 2 yrs. and the memories I have of her interactions with attractions and characters and well, me! are more precious than anything. And it certainly wasn't anymore trouble than taking care of her on a daily basis. But definitely more memorable!
Thank you so much for the quick review of Tony's! I am sure it will be great. We are pretty easy to please (especially when it comes to food!). And considering we are eating there the night we get there, they could probably serve us slop and we would think it was the best thing since sliced bread! We are eating right before Spectro so I am hoping for some pixie dust and maybe we will get to see it from there... if not though there are two that night so we can be flexible!
It's really a shame you didn't get any dreams, your family certainly deserved one! But that is what makes you so deserving... you had a great time anyway! Well I can't wait to hear ALL about it and share our stories! How was the weather, it's the one thing I am dreading... do you think people would make fun of me if I played in the fountains??

MeMom - Glad you all made it back safe and sound. I got misty reading about your saying goodbye. Leaving Disney is so hard already and leaving family is even more difficult! My mom lives in Florida and comes over to join us on our trips. It's always hard to say goodbye to her. This time we had to do it at the Magic Kingdom on our last day. :sad1: But, we know there'll be another trip, hopefully next year! Can't wait to hear all your trip details!

We never saw the Dream Team either - saw lots of people at Epcot and MK with Dream Fastpasses, but that was about it. But, like you said, we had many magical moments of our own, and our son who had the birthday button - we said he had the Year of a Million Birthdays, lots of extra special treats for him and us!

Here are some random pictures of our home away from home for the past ten days. They are in no particular order, because I was doing good to get them put on here in the first place, since I'm pretty much a computer dummy. I just enjoy walking through the gift shop and looking at the shadow boxes, so I took pictures of those things. Cross your fingers...I'm about to push SUBMIT. If we're lucky, there will be pictures.

Many, many trading pins for the many traders I saw throughout the trip. One guy I saw at Ice Station Cool had on a vest that must've had three hundred pins on it.

Jill has a collection of snowglobes, so we looked at these.

Ears, ears, and more ears.

This place was sometimes packed with weary grown-ups and wound up kids.

Shadowboxes - I watched Mickey Mouse Club "back in the day". I loved the Spin and Marty episodes.

Man walked on the moon in 1969. I lived in St. Pete at the time, so we rode over and watched Apollo go up.

Magic Kingdom opens. I was there during year one, when you bought books of tickets. It's so much nicer how it is now!

Jill, when you get back to work feel free to turn my pictures right side up so these kind people don't strain their necks looking sideways. I rotated them on photobucket, and they show upright there, but when I put them on the board, they're still tipped over. Sorry...

Hey MeMom - Welcome back!

Sounds like you had a great trip and your post was fantastic.

Thanks for the Pop pictures, can't wait to get there. We are both looking forward to reading and seeing more from your trip.

Yay youre back! time for TR!!! LOL so glad to see its easy to find those purple pirate ears! I want those so bad!

Hi .. :) .. I've been reading your pre-trip report and can't wait to hear all about your trip .. but I feel compelled to thank you for what you just wrote. Man that put things in perspective for me .. I've been spending months analyzing and planning every minute of our trip .. but you know how easy it was going to be to focus on DOING everthing I wanted to do and miss out on moments like what you wrote about that become the heart of your trip.
I'm suddenly not so much looking forward to getting in that second ride on Splash Mountain with the kids .. I'm looking forward to early morning cuddles and duck watching. I seriously can't thank you enough for that bit of perspective you've given me tonight.

And I look very forward to seeing your pictures and hearing about your trip, as well. I'll be in my first weeks of school, and reading your posts will be good therapy for my frayed nerves at the end of a crazy day.

And you shall have them soon! They are popular, as all things pirate were. We were all amazed by the Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow animatronics in PotC. You find yourself staring because they look so real.
