Direct purchase on CSR

Hi all -

Question for my Chase Sapphire Reserve folks: I’m close to buying another direct contract. Would prefer to put it on CSR for travel points + potential to use the Pay Over Time feature.

Is there anyway to determine before I purchase whether or not I can use Pay Over Time? I do have an active option to use for several of my current purchase with 0 fee over 6/12/18 months but when I use the planning feature (separate from existing purchases), the model shows that my purchase would incur the fee.

Does anyone have experience with this? I’ve asked Chase reps but they claim not to know.

I have not found a good way to know in advance. I have found that at least for me much larger transaction amounts do not trigger the fee free but my other do. That could not be the case for all though.

Bummer!! I wish I knew bc if it doesn’t, I’m inclined to put it on my Disney Visa. Decisions, decisions…

It's been very random. I feel like I have to look at every day because it changes so often. I've used the feature twice. Both times, it only lets me do it for one purchase. They'll send an email that says I have the offer and it reads like there's no maximum purchases. I don't trust it to be there when you make the purchase.
