Baby and the Tramp...and a Pop (half) Century! Where Did It Go???

Just checking in. I can't imagine (ok maybe a little) how excited you guys are right now.:goodvibes

I am all caught up!!! :cool1: i just got back from the world. I had such an amazing time with my cousins. I hope you will all read my trip report... I will start it shortly.

Your story about Memom touched my heart. That is so sweet of you to say. I love my Mother dearly as well and would do absolutely anything for her. :)

Only two more days of work and then a weekend of packing and cleaning and we are off. I feel like I could spontaneously combust at any moment. John and I are both working 60 hour work weeks this week. I am preparing for the new school year which begins the Monday I return and I also have a scheduled DHR visit to renew our license about a week after that. John thought he was going to have to work a lot while we were gone and still use most of his vacation time, but as it turns out the first week of our trip is in one pay period and the last week is in another so he is working over this week to flex time to next week and then he won't have to work as much while we are down there or take as much vacation time! Well I better go get started on all the paperwork I have to do. Have a magical day eveeryone!

It has been a great week at camp - lots of singing, praying, sharing, making new friends, sports, good food, crazy games...not much sleeping, though. Tomorrow is the last day. We'll finish up with a family barbeque supper, the kids will talk about some of the things they've done, and there will be a tear-jerking slide show of all their activities set to music. Kids will leave with memories that will last a lifetime. Counselors will leave exhausted, but they will leave as new heroes to these kids. Directors and cooks (that's us old folks) will leave with backaches and headaches and everything-else-aches, but we will leave knowing a good work was done, and we'll leave knowing we will be back to do the same thing next year.

I will get my house back in order after a week of chaos and prepare to go on this fabulous trip ahead of us! Jill and John have one last day of work, for which they are grateful. Trent and Kristi have gone to Target right now to get things they need to take. Drew's friend, Chad, is the one who could end up getting the time and money to go, even though he wasn't one of the original ones who wanted to go. I just talked with his mom to finalize him going, and he's driving his dad's truck so that they will have a way to get all around Orlando to do everything they want to do. So, there will be a caravan of three. I hope we can keep up with each other going through Atlanta. When we went through there last year, it was about three o'clock in the morning and traffic was still bad.

I talked to a lady at Pop Century today to confirm our requests, and she has them down, so we'll see. Again, I don't really care where I am, as long as I am there! It would just be a little easier on my already overworked and ballooning leg after this week of camp. Everyone is more than ready for this break. If some of us act like maniacs in our trip report and pictures, please forgive us. We just get giddy when it comes to Disney World. I'm really looking forward to leaving some hellos on our doors for some Disers, and I hope we'll find notes left on our doors by Disers and non-Disers who are just sharing in the fun.

Okay, I have got to get some rest before I fall asleep with my fingers on the keys and type something crazy like kkkkklllllllllllllllllllllllllnnnnnnnnnnnnn. Have a good rest of the evening!

It's almost time for you all to go! I hope you have a great time! But make sure to take breaks while you're there!

I'll be looking forward to your trip report!
See you when you get back! :goodvibes

Oh my goodness gracious! This is my last day of work!!!! I had a very long list of things that had to get done before I left. I finished that list yesterday at noon so today I am here in body only. Everything has been so up in the air lately, who is going, who is driving, and so forth. Finally as we approach our final hours it looks like the clouds of doubt are parting and every one is in it for the long haul to Orlando now. I am very glad Drew has a buddy going with him and even more thankful that his friend can drive because in John's mind he has already packed our rental van precisely precise and adding a little more luggage, two bikes, and two teenagers was not what he really wanted to do.

So today is my last day of work and then I have three days of laundry, house cleaning, packing, dog dropping off and van picking up. The train pulls out at 10:30 Monday night and that is only if Memom can stand to wait that long. The only reason we are waiting until then is because of the tradition of stopping at the Florida Welcome Station and it doesn't open until 8:00 a.m.

Have a magical day everyone!

Glad everthing turned out for all!!! Well I am off tomorrow so HOPEFULLY I will see the gang there in a few days or so!!! Drive Carefully and have a nice weekend!!!

I just found you, and I am only on page one, but I am really enjoying reading it.:)

Everyone who's leaving soon - have a very safe trip to Florida :woohoo: and a magical time when you get there!! :wizard: I hope to see you at POP next week, maybe even next Thursday night!! Can't wait!!

Okay, the year plus wait is over, and we're down to 2 days before we leave. This day has been spent washing loads of dish towels from camp to be sent back tomorrow for the day camp to use, cleaning out the refrigerator and deciding what we need to eat up before Monday, writing a list for the house sitter, shopping for last minute needs and wants, getting the house back in order from the past week, and now it's time to Dis.

Hopefully, we'll be meeting up with a Diser or two for a picture to add to the report. There are too many of us and too many plans to commit to anything big, but it will be nice to be able to meet up long enough to put names with faces and meet the families.

Trent and Kristi were supposed to pick up the car they're driving today, and Jill and I are picking up the van on Monday. Since Chad is driving, I guess we'll be Disney Bound, Disney Bound 2, and Disney Bound, Too! Drew, who doesn't get excited about much, is showing signs of coming to life about the trip. He was telling Chad all about how you can just come and go to any park at any time and about Tower of Terror and Dinosaur, etc. They'll hit the parks mostly for the thrill rides. He was telling him all about the waterparks, because he really enjoys those. He and I have to get out today and get him another pair of shorts or maybe two. And a haircut. Other than that, we're ready to roll.

I guess this will get moved to the trip report board as of Monday or Tuesday, and we'll try to make it fun for all. As I was driving today listening to Wishes, I just got the best feeling knowing that very, very soon I will be seeing it and hearing it in person! Keep us in your prayers for safe travel.

Since I will not have access to the internet again until we arrive at Pop century I will have to sign off on our trip report now. I hope you all have enjoyed getting to know us with all our quirks and silliness. We are all very ready and excited for this trip. We will do our best to post a few picture or 10 every day or so. Talk to you in Orlando!  (As always, those dancing bananas are for you, John!)

Your descriptions of your family were so beautiful! I only hope people in my family knew me that well! I can't wait to read all the parts of this thread and the final report of the actual trip. We don't go until December for our first trip there!!!!!
