B&P's VR 11/10/2012 UK/AAP/UKDP Day 1 Arrival & Epcot 6/10

I bought the same toasting flutes! I'm going to get them engraved up here now that we have our date.

That's so funny. They are lovely. I remember seeing them in a pj before we went down to WDW, so it could have been yours. :cool1: We had them engraved with the date. Oops. Didn't even occur to me to hold off. They arrived the other day, so I will post pics soon.

Bethie - Just dropping by to say I love everything. I an really looking forward to hearing more of your plans!! This is going to be a good VR!!!

Thanks, Joanne! This has been so much fun so far. The guests that I have told some of the details to are very excited about it, which is great. I think that everyone will have a fabulous time!

Just wanted to mention that while we are not having a traditional wedding party, we are having two flowergirls. They are the daughters of our best friends and former Best Man. They will be 9 and 7 at the time of the VR. We love them like they were ours and are so excited that they will be part of our day. They are also very excited too! Their names are Rachel (9) and Ashlyn (7).

This will be their second trip to Disney. We took them and their parents with us for my 40th birthday in April 2010. I have tried to make them huge fans since they were tiny. Every trip I have ever taken has always involved what am I buying the girls this time. It usually ends up being a bunch of stuff. Paul and I used to say that it was cheaper than paying for college, but not we are not so sure. :scared1:

This was them at 1900 Park Fare for dinner in 2010. I think they are going to be adorable!!!

Still have plenty of time to decide dresses, but we will probably go to Alfred Angelo and I will let them pick one that they both like. The do like to dress alike, so that's a help. Fingers crossed that doesn't change. As long as the dress is a shade of pink I like, it will all be good.

Thanks for listening. I just had to show them off!

WOOHOO!!!! WOOHOO!!! :cool1::cloud9::love::banana:

Thanks, Deena! I can't tell you how many times I refresed my email during the day. it was pathetic. :rolleyes1 How did dinner turn out?

BTW, I saw on your pj about the APs. Haven't checked to see if you have gotten an answer yet, but can't they have them waiting at the hotel or meet somewhere to give them to you? That seems to be the best outcome. :confused3

Thank you so much, Joanne. It is definitely one less (big huge thing less) to worry about! :rotfl2: Paul is really happy that we got all our Epcot sites. I really hope that Bill can make the tweaks to the 2 times that need adjusting. The farewell breakfast is kind of a deal breaker. I don't want to take up my guests entire morning. I already know that some of them have park days planned and want to get to it.

Lol, since they have my work email, I get a pop up and I jumped for 2 days straight, lol. Dinner was great :) We got a new grill and we're trying to eat better so it was night one of that. I really miss cooking--it's just a challenge with 2 jobs. Well I sent in a big long list of questions, and I should have an email back by Friday. In the mean time, she is working on getting me UK Lower. I hope it all works out for November--if not--we'll make it happen, lol--we always do. Hopefully you get an answer soon about your time tweaks!!

Congratulations on getting your dates and your times. It'll soon come round :goodvibes

By the way love that pic from 1900 park fare, the ugly step sisters look like so much fun to meet.

YAYYY!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! I know how relieved you must be!

And, for the farewell breakfast, have you thought about just bringing your whole group to Chef Mickey's or something? I know it's not super-formal or classy (and I can say this, because I am bringing my group to Chef Mickey's!), but I think it sounds like fun either way. Of course, I am sure you've thought of this, so I'm just babbling.

Anyway--- CONGRATS!!!!

The jumping at email sounds like me this Monday about our venues. :lmao: Good for you on the cooking. One thing we have started doing is grilling a bunch of chicken breasts all at once (usually on Sunday) and then I can do different things with them during the week or Paul can take them for lunch. Just a suggestion to help with the time crunch.

Congratulations on getting your dates and your times. It'll soon come round :goodvibes

Thanks! It seems very real now. I know that not much has really changed, but it feels like it has.

1900 is a great meal whether breakfast or dinner. Food is good and some of the best character interaction. The step sisters truly love meeting adults.

Jackie, Thanks! You and I were thinking kind of alike. My backup plan was Cape May since most of us will be at the BC. You were not babbling. It was in my head, just needed to see it written out to get it out. :cool1:

Good news!!! Bill got back to me today and he has tweaked both of times. So, now everything is exactly the way I want them. Yay!

I have such a big update that I just haven't gotten to with jewelry and shoes and guest books. Hopefully this weekend, after I finish my newsletter, I will get to it.

Thanks to everyone still following along.

Bethie sweetie - So glad you got your times tweeked!! Everything is perfect now!!

Wow, it has been a while since I have updated this thing...:rolleyes1 Bad disbride! And I even have had a productive month. Hope people still want to follow along.

As far as tasks completed, I have done the following...

1. Started my room block (is it wrong to ask people what they think they might do?)
2. Booked our officiant (did this back in May, but never posted). A very good friend of ours is a Methodist minister in Iowa and she has agreed to do it for us!
3. Called Carolyn Allens and have booked space for myself, 2 junior bridesmaid dresses and Paul's suit. Also have them on hold to come back for our MK shoot
4. Ordered the jr bridesmaid dresses. Didn't want to it this early, but found the right one and ordered it big. Fingers crossed. (pictures to come soon)
5. Found jewelry and shoes for me. (pics soon)
6. Decided on a guest book. Since we want this to be as Disney as possible, we decided during our site visit to use a Princess autograph book as a guest book. We plan on doing a photo with each person or couple and I will label the picture slots with our guests name so they can sign opposite of their photo. Still have to work out exactly how that will work, but sure I will come up with something.
7. Signed the contract with Shelley at Impressions to do our STDs, invitations and lots of other stuff. Our STDs should be done soon and I will post them as soon as they are. Shelley is also currently working on a wedding logo for us. :cool1: Can't wait to see all of these.
8. Started some DIY projects. Finished the first newsletter that will be going in with the STDs. Finished the Hidden Mickey brochure (printing those out now) and started working on the door hangers.
9. Bought some stuff for the welcome bags on sale -- hand sanitizers (8 for $5 and 12 cents for the holder) and got some pink folders on sale for back to school.

Here is the newsletter. It might change slightly, but hopefully, not much. I will be sending out another with the holiday cards with the room block info.

Tried getting the Mickey brochure to post here, but it is being stubborn. Oh well, that will have to wait for another update, which will come sooner than this one did. :)

your newsletter looks fantastic!!! you're getting so much done!!! you'll thank yourself later for getting all the little stuff done now!!

Hi Bethie,
I'm scouring the boards looking for VR threads, and I love all your plans so far. Especially your dress, as I'm thinking tea length too, I can't wait to see what you have decided for your shoes and jewellery :) And your flowergirl dresses too :) I can't decide if I want to go for pink accents or if I want to go with the blue we had for our Wedding, so I'm looking forward to seeing your ideas :)

Best wishes

Bethie sweetie - These look great!! Well done!!

Thanks, Joanne! It took forever to get them just right and one design program I was using would crash about 4/5 through each version, so I constantly had to start over. :scared1: There has been a slight change to the final version, since Shelley from Impressions asked us not to use the Walt font on the top. We switched to the Mickey font and love it even more. Will post them again later this week, with some other diy stuff.

Thanks, Deena. I know the value of getting as much of this done as possible. The first time around, I was done with major stuff so early that I spent months not doing anything wedding related. We were so organized in 2002, that one week before the wedding we noticed that we had a huge typo on the tickets that we had made as placecards. Since we had absolutely nothing else that had to be done, we calmly printed them all over again and cut them down to size. If I had had other stuff, it would have been a disaster. :lmao:

Thanks for joining in Gertie! Always good to have another bride/groom along for the ride. Congrats on your VR too! I have been lurking on yours, just haven't had time to post (but I will!). Our first wedding was pink and everything is always pink for me, so it was never a question this time around. :rotfl2:

Well, I am sitting here waiting for Hurricane/Tropical Storm Irene to come to the Boston area and figured it was a good time to get some more posted on my pj.

I have all of my accessories done. I am so happy. This all came together so easily, it is kind of scary. :scared1: So without further adoo, here they are...

Tennis bracelet
012-1-2.jpg

Earrings
015-1.jpg

Necklace -- Love this!!!
016-1-1.jpg

All of them together
018-1.jpg

My tiara. I have short hair and don't plan on growing it out much, so this is just perfect.
011-1.jpg

Shoes for the ceremony and reception. I am contemplating having them dyed pink to match the girls shoes. The color swatch is below. I have rheumatoid arthritis in my feet, so shoes are tricky for me. I can't do heels and need them to be uber-comfy.
007-1.jpg

Found these awesome dressy silver flip flops. I will probably wear them to the welcome dinner and have them along the next day, just in case.
014-1.jpg

Dresses for flowergirls. Rachel and Ashlyn will be 9 and 7 at the time that we do this, so a typical flowergirl dress would be too little girl for them. We tried them on a few weeks ago and everyone (me, Mom and the girls) all loved them. Colors are below.
girlsdress.jpg

We ordered the dresses in the silver. Neither of the girls love pink the way that I do, so I gave them a break and am not making them wear it directly. I also figured they would get more use out of them this way after the wedding. We did order a sash to go with it in the rose petal pink color. We are dyeing the girls shoes this pink as well and I may dye mine too! I would love to consider adding some more bling, but I do not have the talent or patience to play with rhinestones. Suggestions welcome. ;)
016-2.jpg

Hope everyone who is in the path of Irene makes out okay. Be safe!

Great update, Beth! I LOVE all of your jewelry--- is it all Swavorski? Either way, it's beautifulllll.

Also, I am all for dying your shoes. I love colored shoes for weddings, and it definitely seems to be "in" right now. And I ADORE the flip flops; I had the darndest time trying to find fancy flip flops for my DP.

Anyway, everything is coming together fabulously!

I love your sparkly jewellry, its so pretty :lovestruc

And the silver flowergirl dresses with pink sashes sound gorgeous, a lovely compromise :)

Fab update lovely!

The newsletters look amazing, great job with them.

Your jewellery is so pretty, it looks so good together. xx

Bethie sweetie - Everything looks lovely. I love the jewellery!! I wonder why Shelly asked you not to use the 'Walt' font?? I have to say that I am not a fan of it myself, and think that the 'Mickey' font will look better!!

LOVE LOVE everything I have seen and read here!! Between you and tinkerbell 766..:) I am so excited...even if I have to wait until 2013!!! NOW to get my DH excited..lol..
My DD5 thinks if we "get married" again we will "have another kid"...LOL
Um..that ship has sailed....
