I am not a very artsy crafty person at all, and I am looking at ideas for making three autograph books. My friend's daughter is 3, and has leukemia, and is going to WDW for her make a wish.

I have told my friend that i would take care of the autograph books. I would really like them to be special, especially for Katie. Any ideas, or directions to point me in the right direction. I really want to make these rather than purchase if I can at all pull something together. Any help is greatly appreciated.

What I did this last week was an idea one of my bosses did for her daughters when they went. I bought a simple 4X6 plain scrapbook from local craft store (Micheals, JoAnns, Walmart) With this I could decorate the cover any way I wanted. Then I had the characters sign every OTHER page. This way I could put a picture of me and that character in next to their signature.

how did you decorate? I have done the every other page for my son's book, so i know that works good. I want to try to personalize them, and especially for Katie.

thanx for the tip.

Check the Budget Board for inexpensive ideas; check the Scrapbooking Board for unique and more expensive ideas--I have seen posts on both with many wonderful alternatives. Many have posted that the characters will respond positively when there is a unique and creative book presented to them in the midst of all the "same old same old"!

My wife did the scrapbook idea and it works great. There are all sorts of Disney stickers you can personalize each page for each charater. The scrapbook board is also great for ideas and can point you to some sites with fonts for all the Disney names.

I work at the scrapbook store in my town and we have lots of cute stuff to decorate an autograph book. I am going to make books for my girls for our cruise. We have a website www.scrappershaven.com. We ship everything from the store. (One of us actually walks around the store and picks up the stuff and then we mail it to you!!!) If you need any recommendations I would be happy to help. Also we can imprint a scrapbook with her name (or any other words) and also a Mickey logo and or "Disney Adventures". Hope this gets you started. Don't hesitate to ask if you need more help!!

Wow, that is wonderful information! I didn't realize there was a scrapbook board, and I really will want to make these books special as I can. I had thought about just buying regular ones, but that just didn't have the personal touch. Once my friend finds out for sure that someone locally is sponsoring their trip and they get a date set, I will be sure to check out the web site, and to look at the scrapbook board.

Thanx much!

Just realized you are in Iowa. Where do you live? I live in Iowa too!!!!!!!!!! The scrapbook store in in Ankeny!!!!!!!

I live about twenty five miles west of Iowa City, really close to the Amanas. I saw that you were from Iowa when i went to the website and saw there was some big event going on in Ankeny.

It is a small world after all!

Hi!

On our WDW trip a year ago, I prepared small (4x5) cut-outs of scrapbook paper in various colors. We had the characters sign them. I put them in the scrapbook of our trip with pictures of the characters next to them. They turned out really well.

This may not be exactly what you want, but perhaps it can help someone reading this. Have fun!
