The pin is beautiful.
I had e-mailed DCL earlier this week about the pin trading, just heard back that it IS temporary, and will start again. :goodvibes

Since the pin is so great and everyone is increasing their orders ... :teeth:

Can you change mine from 4 to 10 please????

Do you have an estimated pin price yet?
I have already sent the design to my friend and asked that she give me a "rough" idea on the price for an 8 color :earseek: 2 inch wide pin. The number of pins we have made will affect the price as well ... I told her the minimum required would be 200 (I think we've exceed that or will do so shortly). The pricing breaks are at 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 1000, 2500, 5000.

The price will also be affected by whether or not we have to ship out the pins to everyone before the cruise. Handing them out at the night-before-the-cruise dismeets as well as onboard would reduce cost simply because we don't have to mess with going to the post office and mailing a bazillion little brown envelopes (LBEs). Of course lugging hundreds of little pieces of metal onto the ship could be fun (it'll have to be in checked luggage ... I might freak out the carry-on-luggage xray scanners otherwise). It'll be heavier than :earseek: to carry, but on the bright side the luggage will be a LOT lighter in FL when we disembark and I don't have all those pins with me any more. :teeth:

My best guess is that the pins will probably run about $3 each ... but we are going with a slightly large pin and double the "normal" number of colors, so lordy only knows how that'll all affect the price of the pins.

I'll get mine from you at the Holiday Inn Susan, "The Official Fool's Pin Hotel" btw ;)
Thanks to you and Dan and Scott for doing this.

Cheers,
Grumbo

Susan--

I'm not totally sure about the whole copyright thing. I was just looking up things on the U.S. Copyright and U.S. Trademark websites.

They state that the Disney Magic graphic logo is under copyright by Walt Disney Enterprises.

I don't think that "magic" would be a problem because, as many have said, you can't copyright that. "Disney Magic" as it's done on the side of the ship is the graphic logo I believe the copyright is referring to. If that is the case, then it couldn't be used in part or in whole without permission from Disney.

As I said, I don't really know for sure I was just thinking about Marsha's experience with the lanyard company.

If what others have said is true, that Disney watches these boards, I was just thinking that it might run into a problem. Perhaps your contacts within the company would be able to OK it?

And, I've just heard and read of stories where Disney has really gone after people and companies for infringing on their properties.

Question regarding the deck plans graphic:

Do we just want to highlight the DISers cabins or do we want all of their traveling party's cabins shown, too?

Is the idea to just show DISers cabins or light up the graphic and show all the affiliated cabins so we can see how much of the ship the whole Fools group own/are taking over?

Opinions, please.

FYI - only cabins that are submitted for inclusion will be highlighted!

Nancy--

I don't see any reason why we couldn't also highlight everyone in the party. Many individuals have listed travel-partners on bios so I think it could happen on the deck plan too.

That's my vote!

Please bump up my pin order also - I will take 8 so I can give out some to CM's

Thanks

Ginny

Here is what the Lanyard company said to me. We will be on the Disney Magic. They will be MAKING MONEY using the word Magic. If we were going to a magicians convention, there would be no problem. As we will be sailing on the ship of the same name, they will NOT do it. Disney is very, very, very protective of their names, copy rights, images, etc. I think the pin is beautiful. But I would be wary of using the name and/or the ships picture on it. But the Pin Company has the final say. I am not an attorney, nor do I play one on TV. I think the pin/lanyard/t shirt makers have the legal advisors that will give them the final answer.

Cabins on the map...............Maybe make the Disers one colour and the hangers on another? One thing, if the people who don't want their names and numbers published, they could request their stateroom be coloured in, but that info not be cross referenced anywhere. And with all the GTYs, we could just colour in the whole ship!

We will be on the Disney Magic. They will be MAKING MONEY using the word Magic.

They'll be making money on a number of words while we're on the Magic me thinks :)
Like:
Zombie, Another?, BINGO, Fools!!!, Palo, Vista-Spa, Cuvee, and excursions to name but a few ;)

Cheers,
Grumbo

Grumbo, you are tooooo funny!

BTW, Renee won't have any problem with the name tags. She made them on her own and is giving them away, not as an incentive, not as a part of anything. All this Disney stuff is very tricky.

Hello everyone, been away for a while ... too much work!

Dan - Would you please put me on the list for 4 pins? Thanks!

Mark - Please put me down for 4 people at the DIS Meet on board the ship. Thanks!

UMTerp

The pin is awesome! Totally beyond my original expectation (that's a compliment).

Increase my order to 8 pins.

Thanks,
Darlene

I asked DU to check on the possibility of my paying for an upgrade to a veranda cabin since I'm having second thoughts about all of the sea days without a veranda. Response I received is that DCL is saying that our cruise is sold out. Has anyone else been able to upgrade? If so, how did you do it? Through
your TA or DCL directly (didn't have a TA)?

TIA

UMTerp

Susan, please tell your dh that the pin is outstanding!!! What a talented dh you have, he deserves that watch in Curacao. ;) Our family looks forward to meeting you all and thanking you on the cruise!

***Dan, please up our order from 4 to 10. These will be family keepsakes to treasure forever! Ditto to meeting and thanking you and Scott on the cruise!!

Thanks so very much!!!

Disney is not sold out. They're giving you incorrect information. Even if you just go to the DCL website and do a search you'll pull up some open cabins.

I just did a search and got the following:

14-Night Eastbound Panama Cruise Category 06 : Deluxe Stateroom with Verandah $ 7,669.78
