~ Aug 2013~ Sew what... We've gotta find a way back! Part I!!

I have so many pictures to show you all from Charlotte... So, I've decided to give you all a mini-TR once I get home.

Until then, I know a lot of you have been waiting to see the special bag I made for my trip to Charlotte... And my AG Swap outfit... and a few other things...

I am very excited about this bag. It really was a labor of love. I knew my UPB would have ample representation, with Beth and Marianne both bringing theirs. And since I don't personally own a PPP, I decided it would be fun to have one with me in Charlotte for people to see.

Now, I will say - that no Duck was harmed or sacrificed for this project. The "legs" of this bag are actually the legs of my "Duck Butt" hat. I inserted a hidden zipper into the linking of the bag, so I can pull my hat out of the bottom at any time, and still wear it. :)

I also participated in an AG swap while I was here... Several of the Disboutiquers participated. Here is mine:

I did receive the most amazing outfit from Jill... I promise to post pictures of it once I return home - it is so adorable! I am so fortunate to have so many talented friends!

And last on my list of "show and tell" is a little project I started on several weeks ago. It took me a lot more time than I anticipated, many late nights beyond my regular sewing schedule, and lots of coordination. My dear friend Beth (Blyssfull) really helped my pull this off, again, I couldn't have done this with out her! Beth was so kind, when I told her what I wanted to do, and how busy my schedule has been, she offered to do the embroidery on all of these - every one of them turned out amazing, and she did such a great job as always! I cut out and quilted every piece of the wallets, then I sent them off to Beth - while Beth was working her magic, I pulled quite a few late nights to prep the rest of the missing pieces. I knew, once I got them back, I needed to have everything ready to assemble, because I would be cutting it close, time-wise. I made as many wallets as I could, and unfortunately, I had to leave some people out - people who I would have loved to give one to - especially after meeting them. My sincere apologies! :grouphug: I do have a picture of all the wallets I did, but I forgot to upload it before I left, Marianne was kind enough to let me photograph her's this morning. :cloud9:

Again, many, many thanks to Beth for her help with this project - she does an amazing job! I could not have done this with out her!

So, thank you to everyone for being so patient and letting me show my bag to my friends in Charlotte before I reveal it on my PTR. Unfortunately, I will not be able to upload this pictures to my Facebook Fan page until after my return home. :)

I miss you all, and I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Okay D I am back on the disboards. We will see if I can keep up. :) It was so much fun meeting you and hanging out for the day. Your donald bag was amazing.

Love your bag!! Those duck legs are too cute and right away I thought it should be called a Philharmagic Bag.

OH my golly that BAG!!! You are SO CLEVER!!! I LOVE that you were able to use your hat to "hide" in the bag until you want to wear it! LOVE IT!!!

And that was super sweet of you to work on the secret wallet project.

Glad you have been having such a great time and I hope that you have a safe journey back home.

That backpack is just the cutest thing ever!! I am in awe :cool2:

How fun is that new bag!! I love the feet hanging out of it!!

Adorable dress!! Seeing the different dresses that have been made makes me want to get one for my DD but the way she destroys everything right now makes me rethink it.

Glad you ladies are having fun!!

Between being sick and dealing with a death of a close friend's mom has kept me a way for a few days. I'll check back in when I can. Got my parent's coming down on Tuesday and I have a lot to do between now and then.

I wish I had time for individual responses, but I am typing on my phone...

Sandra, please know that I am praying for your family during this time.

Thank you everyone for the kind words about my bag. It is actually based off of my very first drawings of my UPB, it was a lot of fun to carry here in Charlotte.

I fly home today. I had so much fun here and met so many great people! Despite that, I am looking forward to getting back home. My whole family has been away from me many times before, but I have never been away from them, I must admit to being a bit home sick.

My bags are quite full, as of now, I have been able to fit everything into my carry on bags, so hopefully I won't even have to ship anything home. I am very pleased with my purchases here, even though the main purpose of this trip was to fabric shop, I really didn't buy that much... 4 yards of various fabrics, and a lot of thread. It was just an amazing experience to meet so many of my Dis friends.

I hope everyone has a fantastic day!

I love the Donald bag! I love the duck tail and the dangling feet. Just adorable!

I love the Disboutiquer wallet. That is so cute!

I'm glad you had such an amazing time on your trip. It must have been fun to meet so many people that you already know through the Disboards.

Your Donald bag is magniferous! I    the legs hanging out.

I hope everyone else posts their AG outfits, too. I love the binding on yours.

And the wallets? How cute are they. You put many, many hours into them and it shows!

Hope you have a smooth flight and the jet lag isn't too severe when you get home. :rotfl2:

Wow! That Donald bag was worth waiting to see! Absolutely fantastic! You're probably on your way home now, so hope it's a good flight. Thanks for sharing your talent and photos!

I've GOT to get my hands on one of your bags & matching wallet! Can you send me a PM so I know how to go about ordering one?
Thanks!

SUPER CUTE! I live in MN too - what salon did you get these done at? Now that I know we are fellow Minnesotans, I'm gonna have to meet you and order a bag! I'm dying to get my hands on one!
