Are your Christmas decorations up yet?

I have my Hallmark "Countdown to Christmas" ornament activated...59 days, 14 hours, 46 minutes until Christmas. :santa:

:faint: you would LOVE one of my bosses I would like to smack him personally :rotfl: every night since July he has announced how many days left to Christmas:scared1: my co-workers laugh waiting for my involuntary cringe !

When I was a kid we grew up having live trees, it went up Christmas Eve and stayed up until January 5 If I have an artificial tree ( which I hate) it will go up usually first week December One year I did put it up in Sept as DD # 1 was being deployed again and that's when we celebrated

I am leaning more toward a real one and will get it a few days before Christmas

I will admit, I was thinking of putting them up. I probably will do it after Halloween. I want to do things early this year.

I need a little Christmas right now. Plus it will help me "holiday clean" my house. Also I want to get some family pic's taken and get my Christmas cards done. With the passing of dh's mom a few weeks ago, I want to put a little more thought into things this year.

Our Halloween decorations have been up inside since August... don't judge - it's my favorite holiday!

Christmas will go up the day after Thanksgiving.

Too early for me.

Halloween is up now and once that is over I'll phase back into fall with some Thanksgiving touches. I don't want Christmas decor up when we are having Thanksgiving dinner.

Sometime in the immediate days after TG, I'll put my Christmas stuff out.

I have a lot of decorations and like to keep the house decorated for the current holiday, since we entertain quite a bit. If I needed to change things up for a deployment or vacation, that would be fine. I'm very flexible and we often celebrate holidays on alternate days due to my husbands work schedule.

I will do mine the week of Thanksgiving.
My holiday is always Thanksgiving.
Then my sisters do Christmas eve and Christmas Day, So I like to have the house decorated to start the season.

Great plan! Wishing your family a reflective Christmas this year. :littleangel:

The Halloween stuff didn't even go up this year. I'll do Christmas when I come back from Disney the second week in December. I love Christmas but I'm a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to decorating. :santa:

I do Christmas shopping (ebay) and sewing year round but the decorating will have to wait til after Thanksgiving because I need the dining room table. After the feast, the table becomes the base for my Christmas village -- enough lighted buildings I feel like I earn my electrical engineering degree each year, just getting all the adaptors/transformers and other wiring to work.

Whenever the mood strikes our Dgs(7)! Probably right after Halloween. His Dad use to put up our family tree from the time he was about 18. His son started much earlier! The tree is smaller with lights more manageable for a little elf. :santa:

I didn't even bother with Halloween decorating this year. In fact, DH just got home from buying a couple of pumpkins. He'll spend the afternoon out in the garage carving them and them plop them out on the front step.

DH will wait for a nice day late in November to put up the outside lights. But we won't turn them on till December. It takes me 3 days to decorate the house for Christmas. One for just the house decorations: pine garlands, dining table, mantel etc. Two days to set up the trees and decorate them. And everything adds up to giant dust collectors. So I delay putting everything up until 3 weeks before Christmas. And everything comes down New Year's Day.

Time to sit down and start Christmas gift lists (I've picked up a few things already) and the baking list.

I live in Canada so we always wait until after November 11-Remembrance Day- to respect our veterans but November 12, its a Christmas explosion!! :cool1:

Not until Thanksgiving weekend. Halloween decorations up now, then fall decor until Thanksgiving.

I was in Bed Bath and Beyond the other day and they were already playing Christmas music.

Oh, you are so funny! :lmao: :)

My granddaughter is already playing Christmas music...I told her it's way too early for that! :)

I generally decorate the house for Thanksgiving the following weekend, but since Thanksgiving is the LAST Thursday of the month this year I've decided to do my Christmas decorating the week BEFORE. :) I hate it when Thanksgiving is late, and I don't decorate until after, as then I feel like I've been "cheated out of a week" of having them up. So why not do it before? :thumbsup2

Just had to say I like the picture in your signature --- I love the Beekman Boys--- was my favorite tv show when I had cable. They are so much fun and extremely talented.

Oh heck no. I have to much going on to even think about Christmas let alone thanksgiving.

Nope, we usually don't until after Thanksgiving. I may put them up the weekend before Thanksgiving this year. DD might come home that weekend and she loves to decorate. We'll be gone all of T-Day break so if we don't put them up then, she won't get to help.

Our neighbors are always good about putting up their decorations before it gets too cold. DH usually waits until it's really cold then he's the only goofy one out in the freezing wind trying to put up the lights. I think it's tradition for him now. :lmao:

Good Lord, no!! I'm a holiday fanatic and tend to put up decorations earlier than most people probably would, but in my house it's still most definitely Halloween. And I really like Fall/harvest decorations so there is no way I'm skipping all of that in favor of a super early Christmas. Thanksgiving decorations will go up a day or two after Halloween and Christmas will start on Black Friday.

I do hate it when Thanksgiving is late (as it is this year), because it means I have less time to enjoy my Christmas decorations. But it is still Thanksgiving and it will stay that way until they day after.

I don't know what it is, but I am so excited for Christmas this year. Maybe because we decided on no gifts for my side of the family. There's 90% of the stress right out the window!

We won't be decorating until Thanksgiving weekend, though.

As DH and I pulled into our subdivision this afternoon, a neighbor had a bunch of stuff on her lawn (boxes, lights, etc). I said to DH that I couldn't believe anyone would be putting up Christmas decorations now. DH said it was probably Halloween stuff. Duh! I totally forgot about that.

DH just left and is driving DS to a party. I got a text from DS, "Dad said to tell you that the decorations were Christmas NOT Halloween." Can't wait to see those everyday for the next 2+ months.
