Closing Time!

First time closing question. ROFR waived 8/7. I’ve signed back the buyer closing docs (8/8). I’m planning to make the wire Monday (8/11) as I’m out of town after that. Should I be waiting for the seller to return their docs before I do the wire? I’m using ***, so far so good.

Sorry I don’t have an answer for you but anxiously awaiting for a reply since we are doing the exact same thing. We signed all the docs with an online notary (that was different🥴). Went to the bank and the only lady that does the wiring just left for the day. Will delaying the wiring slow down the process?

I doubt it will slow down anything, some title companies don’t work the weekend anyway. Usually the slowdown at this point is the seller signing.

There is no need to wait , the title company holds the funds in escrow so the seller does not get them until the deal is closed and DVC transfers the contract to the buyer.

The seller has no idea if you paid or not

Most banks will have a way you can do the wire from your phone app. I use Chase and Wells Fargo and I can wire from my phone.

I always wait. The longer I can earn interest on my money the better. Some sellers take a long time to sign, why should title hold money while you wait? It doesn’t really slow the process down since wires are most often immediate. I have had multiple sellers take 2 weeks or longer to sign.

We wired the money immediately to make sure there were no preventable delays on our side. We have a contract and it’s in escrow I was really not worried about it or the few days of interest in the bank.

Ally let me wire from my laptop, I think I could do it from the phone app but wiring money is stressful enough. Being able to clearly see the instructions and the form at the same time is worth it.
