Are reservations hard to get now with new 60 day window?

We are leaving this afternoon to go up, since the time we booked about 3 months ago, I have been able to get every reservation we wanted.
Just keep checking regularly, reservations pop up all the time!

Would you mind letting me know if you have any issues with the open table reservation for The Edison? I've never officially used the open table app as I ended up getting reservations through Disney app when I wanted something.

I do have a 7pm through Disney in a couple weeks but wanted an earlier time, so finally remembered to check open table and they have every time slot available, so booked a 5:30 slot. Would love to hear your experience this week to know if I should plan on the open table res or hold on to the Disney one.

We have used Open Table a number of times for Disney Springs restaurants. Never had an issue. Often there is more availability on Open Table than the Disney app.

Thanks, that's the part that scares me. Haha. Why does a non Disney app have way more availability? Probably because it's not Disney owned, huh?

Some third party restaurants release only a small percentage of their capacity for booking through Disney's system.

There is one big advantage to Open Table, you can usually do a same day cancellation without penalty.

we booked on Monday, December 4, 2021, for our Trip starting 2/4/2021. We found everything we wanted 2/4-2/9. group of 9, had to split into groups of 5/4, except for Boma.

we secured Boma 2/4.
Sci Fi on 2/5 - but the times stink (800pm) we are trying to slowly crawl it forward
Via Napoli 2/6
Be Our Guest 2/7
City Works (Disney Springs) 2/8
and Coral Reef 2/9.

We are doing a split stay - so we are at the Boardwalk 2/10-2/12. I had to call Disney directly (2 hour wait) but got them to then book the following for 2/10-2/12

Space 220 - 7 people at 5pm on 2/11
Plaza Restaurant at MK - 7pm at 450pm on 2/12
I used Open Table to Get Big River Grille on 2/10 for 7 people - that one i had to split to 4 people at a table, and 3 people at a High Top.

I also secured Savi reservation for 5 on 2/5 and 2/6 as we aren't sure what day people want to do the Lightsaber build.

got online at 430AM CST - booked Savi's. Everything else went live at 5AM CST. Called Disney Dining number at 6AM CST, and was entirely done by 815AM CST. It was a LONG morning.

Next March will be our first trip to DW since they reduced the reservation window from 180 to 60 days. My coworker who goes to Disney a lot said he was finding reservations very hard to get now. Has this been everyone else's experience? He also gave me a tip when it comes to trying to find reservations....he said even though my family is a party of 3....to look for reservations for a party of 2 and that it typically will show a lot more open spots and that the restaurant won't care if you show up with 3. Is there any truth to this trick? It seems odd Disney would have more open spots for just 2 people, considering I can't recall ever seeing just tables set up for only 2....most tables are set for 4 at a minimum from what I can remember. Thanks.
I would definitely NOT book for 2 if you have 3 in your party. Why run a high risk of not being able to get seated? You spend all this time planning your vacation and then try to get sneaky with an ADR...and it backfires. Then you are left getting dinner from the counter service at your hotel or just getting a pretzel from a food cart. And rightfully so.

On Disney's dining information page it says that due to Covid distancing, they generally are not booking for parties greater than 5.
We found that to be true when booking for a group of 7 for our January trip. Getting online early the first possible day I was able to get for 7 at : Crystal Palace, Tusker House, Mexico in EPCOT; for 5 at Hollywood and Vine; for 4 at BOG. I was not able to get any size group at Cinderella's or Germany. I also found that when I split the group and made a reservation for the second grouping, they cancelled the first. I had never had that happen before.

I see they are taking reservations for Space 220 Lounge but have not released times/reservations for Feb. :confused3

How hard is it to get breakfast at Boma? I live in California and am not relishing having to wake up at 3am! But I will if I must. Do you guys think I need to be up that early?

When's the trip? I assume generally 60-70 days from now (so, mid-Feb)? I couldn't get a Boma ADR for Sept but was staying at AKL and finally things worked out via the walk-up option (long story). I did get a Boma ADR for my late Jan trip without major issues. The dining reservation finder options seem to be helpful, as does the sense of trying 24 hours before, in case of cancellations.

We got up in the middle of the night this morning as we hit our 60 day mark and on thr west coast. Totally worth it though, we got everything we wanted (except Space 220 Lounge) around the times we wanted. I may be too giddy to go back to sleep.

And just remember, there are no scheduled reservation times available right now for Space 220 Lounge in February. I would set up a touring plans alert so you can be notified when they become available for your trip. I did see someone else say they set an alert for February first as well as their trip, the Feb 1 just to know when Feb becomes available in case those drop first

Yup. Thanks to the wonderful people here I learned about setting up reservation alerts with touring plans. I always so appreciate everything I learn here on these boards.

Will post back! Our reservation is Thursday.
Hey, hope you had a great trip! Just wanted to check in and see if everything went smoothly with your Open Table reservation? I'm assuming it's fine as others have stated, but wanted to see if anything I should be concerned about.

So regarding the checking in with 1 more person than you booked for thing.. I have no personal experience with this and there was a time I would have said absolutely not, but I am hearing lots of reports these days that the app will usually let you check in with 1 additional person when you arrive. This is all over the dining groups I follow. I still don't think it would be guarantee, but I wonder if Disney is holding back spots just in case.

Yes and no. It honestly depends. We were a party of 3 and some came no problem. Others was weeks of frustration and changing around times. If you can be a little more flexible with times you can get some stuff. Others not so much.

I was pretty much able to get a party for 6 anywhere. Larger was an issue. We did check in with one additional person in some places although they won't guarantee being able to do so

I never understand what 60 plus length of stay means. Explain please . Lucky enough to do a 10 day split soon. 5 and 5.
you can book ADRs, for all the days you'll be at Disney World, at the 60 day mark prior to your check in date. They don't force you to wait 60 days prior to each of your vacation days. You book them all at once at that 60 day prior to check in day mark.
