Are reservations hard to get now with new 60 day window?

My booking window opened yesterday and even though I saw several availabilities for California grill, BoG or Ogas, I found it harder to get what I want. I managed to get a Space 220 reservation on the second last day of my trip for a time I would usually not have lunch (or dinner ;)) but I feel lucky that I managed to get one at all. I experienced several tech glitches though and it took me 30 min to get my first reservation through. At one point the system wouldn’t accept my cc information. It was a bit of a stressful experience ;)

Just made our reservations for Dec trip. Couldn't get Space 220 (no surprise) but got mostly what we wanted for lunches, including Oga's Cantina.
We like to have our big meals at lunch time and light dinner.
I did find the reservation system on-line slow and was cut off completely a few times and had to restart. Plus it did not always hold my credit card info.
We arrive December 5. I logged on and the system would not pull up any reservations anywhere. In fact Dec 5 was not active. I’m thinking IT problems?

I have not had success with it. I had top 5 choices for each park and didn't get a single one. I even stayed up all night to make sure I didn't oversleep and went into work after. lol It was a total fail. I used a PC and a mobile device - hardly anything was available. Paying two other businesses now to try and snag us a reservation at some of the ones we wanted. The trip gets pricier as it goes. LMAO!

If I wanted Space 220, Ohanas, top of the world at California Grill, BOG, Chef Mickeys what order would I start in ? Make them This week???

Space 220 will be hardest. Hopefully your trip is at least 7 days, from what I’ve read availability doesn’t open up until day 7 at the earliest. CG seems to also be booking up really fast. So basically put the hardest ones later in your trip and go for them first when booking.
In order of difficulty I’d say…
S220
CG
BOG
Ohana
CM

I don't think the issue is a 60 vs 180 day window. I think the issue is fewer restaurants open, less staff so they can't fill the ones that are open as full as they used to.
Until every restaurant reopens and they have full staff back, I don't see it getting much better.

Try Open Table. I got reservations for both Splitsville and The Edison through Open Table for Dec. 7&9.
Would you mind letting me know if you have any issues with the open table reservation for The Edison? I've never officially used the open table app as I ended up getting reservations through Disney app when I wanted something.

I do have a 7pm through Disney in a couple weeks but wanted an earlier time, so finally remembered to check open table and they have every time slot available, so booked a 5:30 slot. Would love to hear your experience this week to know if I should plan on the open table res or hold on to the Disney one.

We will be at WDW Jan 17 -Jan 27, checking into POR on the 19th. We were able to get every restaurant we wanted.

We are eating at Olivia's, Boathouse (reserved through OpenTable), Steakhouse 71 (breakfast, lunch and dinner), Via Napoli (the time I wanted was not available, but I made it for 8pm and then kept checking and finally was able to move it up), Beaches and Cream, Boatwright's, Space 220 (I originally reserved a dinner but changed it to the Lounge as soon as that opened up), Oga's Cantina (I did not reserve this until about a week after my reservation date but I could reserve any time. It was not full), Whispering Canyon and Homecomin' (I didn't try to reserve this until two weeks after my reservation date. It took several days of checking but I was able to get the day and time I wanted ).

I assumed that Space 220 would be hardest, so I went directly to the Space 220 page to check availability. I refreshed at 6:00 am. I also planned to book this later in our trip to have a better chance.

Customers (guest) are encountering lots of variables. One is to ensure you are using a system that is current and up to date with it's operating system and browser. Even then expect a non seamless Disney experience from your connection being dropped or needing to sign in again as their single sign on process fails to allow you to move across their multiple applications without needing to enter your password again. It paid out for us that we both made ADRs when it opened for us. Your length of stay matters as short stays can easily find longer trips already securing prime dining locations. Try breakfast, lunch, dinner options but also times as you can find differences. Overall, keep trying over time in cases where you don't get what you want. People change their plans and others need to cancel. Remember, don't be played by Disney as their business model is to make you feel you are missing out...you will be ok, relax,

Some of them are very difficult, but may open up later on. I had issues with Topolino's dinner. a month later got one for 9:05 and yesterday was able to move it to 6:25. Reservation for this Thursday.

Will post back! Our reservation is Thursday.

I would also add to ensure you have as much information to secure a reservation in your profile. The number of screens customers have to work through to secure a reservation appears to me to have increased. Just to give you an idea what we experienced to secure December ADRs, we found multiple times where we both were securing an ADR, only to be told near the end that the date and time was no longer available. Seems like a lot more pages to align all of their applications...plus legal stuff. The only thing that held us up was the Disney server processing speed. This type of experience seems definitely different from previous years. At times you hold your breath until you get the confirmation.

I was up and on line at 3:00 AM. I got Space 220!!!!! :hyper: and one other reservation. Then my laptop froze, just spinning/loading. Tried Chrome vs. Safari, nothing. Switched to my tablet and got 7 other reservations! I got everything I wanted!! Ohana's, Oga's, Le Cellier, Artist's Point, Chef Mickey's, Steakhouse 71, Tiffins, Mama Melrose's.

Just glad I had a back up to my laptop. Also a 6 day trip with Epcot on my last day helped I'm sure. I started with Space 220 on my last day first and got it.

Good luck everyone!
