That's the one we like too but they don't do shows on Saturdays. Maybe DCL will work their magic.

Thats why I'm so anxious to see what excursion DCL will offer us.

This will be our first time and who know maybe last time to see Hawaii and not seeing luau....... :(

Hi All!! :wave2:

I need to shift my focus to this cruise now... I've been so stuck in my wbta, that is now over, for far too long.....!! It was a fantastic cruise & I soooooo love the Magic!! But I will adjust to the Wonder...even though it's a bit like entering the Twilight Zone with some things the wrong names & colors...!! :confused3 :lmao:

I called Aulani to see if they had day passes to use the facilities. NOPE. You have to get a room. I asked if they had luaus. NOPE. They have a gathering with music but no food some nights. Luaus are down the street at Paradise Cove.....I think she said. I'm hoping that Disney does an excursion there like they do with Atlantis. They HAVE TO!!! And we'll just go down the block to the luau.

I thought I had posted that they don't do luaus because they are 'good neighbors with Paradise Cove'. Anyway, sorry, I knew that from when our news team was over there for the grand opening. Still holding out hope that DCL will plan some kind of excursion/event for us that we book through the ship.

Yes!! I'm sure DCL will have something available....if only to promote sales...LOL So looking forward to what they will offer. Might be worth reserving a day room now though, just in case....need to check the points chart....

We are still debating when to go to DL, before or after cruise... At this point I am leaning towards splitting it in half and doing both!!

I'm with you!! We will be there 2 nights on both ends at the villas! :yay:

We are doing ours on the front end. Being that Mom and I's DH's are not able to come with us, I am sure they would like for us to get home ASAP after being gone over 2 weeks!

And Yay on the 200 days!..

We are on our count down to to WDW and Food and Wine.. We leave 2 weeks from today!:woohoo:

We couldn't decide either until we looked at the hotel costs for pre- and post-cruise, then it was easy. We're staying a few days after, but we haven't yet decided where.

Just got off the phone w/DCL. Due to the migration of folks to the October cruise, we were able to upgrade to a 9c. DH and I love the verandahs, but they are too much $$$ for us. Since we had an on-board ressie that we were able to move, we pretty much broke even. :yay::yay::yay:

Where are you seeing they don't do shows on Saturday? When I look at there FAQ's it say's seven nights a week, I copied the information below. I also looked at booking online and it allowed Saturday May 5th and had availability.

Days & Hours: Seven nights a week.
Schedule may vary. Please call for availability.
April 1st – September 30th: Meet at 5:45 pm. Lüÿau ends at 8:45 pm.
October 1st – March 31st: Meet at 5:15 pm. Lüÿau ends at 8:15 pm.

We did The Old Lahaina Luau in 2007 and it was a wonderful experience, so I'm definitely looking at possibly going again. I've also been looking at Paradise Cove on Oahu, because someone said they had an agreement with Aulani so its possible this will be the Luau that DCL offers in its excursions. Has anyone done both and can give comparisons of the two?

Just saying hello from the Magic. We are in St. Thomas today. First two days were really rough. Lots of passengers and crew went down to sea sick including DW. I was fine. Talk to you all soon.

I called. Hopefully the agent I talked to was wrong and you are right. We have one person with us that has not been to Hawaii and so we HAVE to do a luau!

Hi,
I am posting for Happy Goofy. She is still in the hospital and things are progressing slowly. Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts for her.
Her excitment about the cruise is keeping her spirits up. She wanted to know if anyone got rates for Paradise Pier and Candy cane Inn.:cool1:

Oh my - I hope the agent is wrong. Saturday seems like such an odd day to not have a show, I'm hoping they are wrong. Worst case sceanrio, I'm pretty sure DCL will offer a luau on Oahu, probably Paradise Cove.

Aren't we in Oahu on a Sunday? :confused3 Think I missed something...lol

.

I got an email a few minutes ago from Vacationstogo.com that had this offer...first time our cruise has ever been listed:

FastDeal 29217
15 nights departing April 29, 2012 on
Disney's Disney Wonder

Cheapest Inside $2,265

Cheapest Balcony $5,295

$$$ Exclusive Offer! Book now and receive a FREE $50 per cabin onboard credit on select categories.
Promotions may not be combinable with all fares.

No brochure rates were provided by Disney. The prices shown are US dollars per person, based on double occupancy, and subject to availability. They include port charges but do not include airfare or (where applicable) airport or government taxes or fees.

I wonder how many cabins that have available now??

We are on Oahu on Sunday, but they were talking about a luau (preferred by some who have been there) on Maui on Saturday they were looking into.

I would have to do some research, but our last cruise to the islands where ever we were on Saturday there were a couple of popular tourists attractions closed. Saturday apparently was a day of worship for whatever religion the owners practiced.
We were really surprised by a Saturday closure especially when there was more than one cruise ship docked.

Thanks!! :hippie:
I knew I had missed a key factor someplace back there in my catching up!! lol

It will be interesting to see what DCL has to offer...sometimes they have some awesome (albeit pricey) options......or maybe ABD will partner with something, but may be sort of late for that to happen...?

Wow. I didn't know we were up to part 3. Had lots of computer problems. :surfweb::surfweb: Anyway, I do have contracts with several hotels in CA holding group space for our group. Everyone that contacted me, I did put your name down on my list. After calling Candy Cane numerous times, they still aren't getting back to me. I was hoping to stay there also. I will call them again today and hope to get a reply. I also didn't get any reply to my emails that I sent them. Over the weekend, I'll update my list with the hotels and names that I have so far. If there are any names that I missed or if you want to add your name to the list, please let me know. I can't believe how fast this is coming up. I can't wait.

Today must be my lucky day. I have a new computer that actually works. :surfweb: I got prices at Candy Cane Inn. And today is one day closer to our cruise. I had to reserve a minimum of 15 rooms for the awesome group rate of $124 + tax for a standard room with 2 queen beds. They offer complimentary continental breakfast (which is fine with me since I'm going on the ship to eat:banana:) They are across the street from DisneyLand and they offer free shuttle service to DL.

I also had to reserve a minimum of 15 rooms for the Doubletree San Pedro. Their price is $139 + tax. It's $25 more for a marina view. Breakfast is at an extra cost.

I also had to reserve a minimum of 15 rooms for the Hyatt Regency in Long Beach. Their price is $189 + tax. Breakfast is at an extra cost.

I will get back to you with pricing for Paradise Pier and Queen Mary.

It would be great if we can have at least 15 rooms booked at each location. Even more would be great. I'll update this list with names and hotel over the weekend. In the meantime, just let me know where you want to stay and if it's 2 days or 1 day pre-cruise and how many need a room post cruise.

Bev:)

Bev...Welcome back! We missed you :)

I'm not sure if you got my email, but I'm interested in a room for me and my family (2 adults and 2 kids) at DoubleTree in San Pedro. Not sure how this group rate thing works.

Count me as probably needing a room at CCI for 3 nights before. I have a reservation there now, but will drop it in favor of the group as soon as you have sufficient people. 2 Adults.
