Gennerally there are AP discounts on rooms for most times during the year. You can check historical information on Mousesavers.com to see those as well as all offers. PINs are not on that since they are not for a general group of people. I never saw an incease in PINS with an AP. There are other benefits of an AP including being able to purchase Tables in Wonderland (food discount card that is purchased for $75) All AP benefits are on the WDW site - discounts etc.

I chatted with a Disney representative about this earlier tonight - you can still book your room for the trip where you are buying APs at the discounted AP rate, which is currently (for a 4+ night stay) 40% off of Values and Moderates and 45% off of Deluxe. You must have your AP by the time you check in, though, so plan on a quick detour to the parks or to guest services in DTD to get those activated. We are booking on the AP discount and picking up ours in April when we get there :)

Does it count if you have purchased your voucher but don't have the actual pass yet? We will be arriving in the evening and were not planning on going to a park until the next day.

I've never been asked to show my AP, but that doesn't mean they won't ask you?! However, you don't have to go to a park to get your AP, you could go to DTD Guest Relations (at both ends of DTD - 1 near Ghiradelli (sp?) and 1 next to La Nouba/Disney Quest).

Have a great trip!

I have been asked to show my AP when I booked over the phone, but not when I booked online. I think it's because you have to have either the AP voucher or actual AP to log in to the AP discounts online.

As to whether you get better discounts by PIN or by AP, I think it varies. Sometimes they are very similar. I haven't seen anyone mention getting more than 45% off with a PIN, or more than 45% off with an AP discount, so it just depends on how they are doing the breakdown as far as resort type (value, mod, deluxe, DVC) whether one would end up better than the other.

I've never received a PIN, so I have to rely on the AP or Florida Resident discounts to get me through.

You should be ok as long as you have your voucher. A voucher shows you have already purchased the AP.

Hi there, and to clarify the last poster's comment - yes, you definitely can check in with just the voucher (before turning that into your actual AP). Done this myself several times in past years, and with several different resorts involved. Vouchers count.

(I've checked in a couple of times without even being asked, although I had booked online through the site, as earlier poster noted, and so obviously had access/permission to use the AP rates so I guess they weren't that interested).

Have a great trip!
