Anyone for HHI 2011? Roll call time!

Has anyone been to the parade? Would like to go and hoping to get advice on where to park and view. We will no be arriving until around 1:30pm -2:00pm so I am not trying to get the best spot just a decent view.

Just counting down the days to our 7 month window. But we hope to visit Oct 4th to 7th after doing the WBTA on the Magic.

We are coming 4th to 7th Oct all booked in a studio.

I don't have the reservation yet, but DH and I have decided to drive to WDW from Cape May NJ when we go to WDW for the New Year's celebration. We always celebrate Christmas in NJ with my DM, family, and some Coast Guard recruits who will be our guests thanks to the Red Cross and Operation Fireside. Our HHI stay will be only 1 night, December 27th. It's too late to call today, but I'll be on the phone tomorrow to see if it's available. What do you think, will something be available?

I don't think that's a very busy time at HHI, so I predict something will be available.

I certainly hope so-sounds like a great plan.

First trip to HHI!!! April 3-8 in a 1BR.

...hopefully, it will FINALLY convince DH that we need to add on.

My 2 DD's (kindergarten and 2nd grade) would love to meet some new friends.

Didn't even need to go!!! We signed and mailed in the papers yesterday!! We are officially owners!! (Well, pending closing, but it was a direct purchase so the points are already in our account!)

I'm getting packed already! The drop-bottom of our duffel bag is packed with 4 beach towels and 4 pairs of sandals. It's 35 degrees here so I don't think we will need any of our summer clothes before we go. Now, I just have to figure out what kind of weather to pack for. I'm thinking that 3 pairs of shorts, 2 pairs of pants, 3 t-shirts, 2 swimsuits and a cover up, 1 sweatshirt and 1 lightweight jacket should be enough. We have to pack light since we are driving down in our Trailblazer and between the cooler, beach toys and groceries, we won't have much room left for clothing. I have to do a "dry run" of the packing pretty soon. If everything doesn't fit in the Trailblazer, we're going to have to take my Suburban which doesn't currently have working A/C. That would need to be repaired before we leave so I need to figure it out soon.

We leave in 27 days and I work 15 of them! That makes it seem sooner since it leaves me with only 12 days left to pack and prepare! On top of that, there are only 6 days between now and when we leave that DH and I are both off together. Yikes!!

Oh, quick question (it you're still reading...) does the exercise room have an elliptical machine? I can't run on a treadmill due to the impact so I use an elliptical instead. Also, are there free weights there too? DH and I have been on a huge fitness kick since December and we want to do our best not to "fall off the wagon" on vacation. TIA!

My dh has already starrted talking about adding on hilton head points and we don't go till May. I was wondering if you need to bring beach towels or they have towels you can use for the beach?

Well, we did get our one night in a studio. The night of 12/27...from there we head out to BWV.

Had to take a day off of our reservation today because of DH's work schedule. We had to take off 7/30, hope that we will still be able to go on 7/31. We waitlisted for the night of 8/5. First time we have had to waitlist... need some pixie dustPlease

Just got off the phone with Member Services. Got a studio in early October!

Won't be any time at all that we will be sitting on the deck overlooking Broad Creek and chillin' or sitting in the hot tub chillin', or ... well you get my drift.

WOW - They moved our closing date!!!!!

When we found out about ROFR last Friday they gave us an April 29th closing date - and then we get our documents in the mail today and we will close on MARCH 18th!!!

They moved us up more than an entire month! We are so excited!

We love the contract that we ended up buying - it's going to allow us to go just about anytime of year in a 2BR or every other year in a Grand Villa - or a couple winter weeks in a 1BR - or several winter weeks in a Studio.

It's very flexible - and we can't wait to LOVE HHI at least 1 week a year!

We will be checking into a Grand Villa from Aug. 28 thru Sept. 6th-
sharing with family for hubby's 50th.
Hilton Head is one of my favorite places.
I think we should move there when kids are big!

Mickey'sApprentice, I'm so sorry you had to cancel your trip (and if I remember, wasn't it an Anniversary trip?) Hopefully, we'll see each other the end of September, since DH and I are at BCV then.

Just booked a 1 bedroom for the week of Ocotber 16th. This will be our first stay there and I am very excited about it. We went to HH last year and loved it..I'm sure staying DVC we'll love it even more.
