Any tips re: internet connection & maximizing iphone battery while in the parks?

We turn off apps and data and just use wi-fi.

We brought a portable battery charger and cable to keep our iPhone charged up during the day.

It has enough power to charge the iPad at least once from completely dead, and still charge two phones (iPhone 6, Samsung - we're a divided couple) twice each with power left over (YMMV). It's amazing, and only $39.99. You will never, ever, EVER need to worry about a dead batter again, no matter how much you use your phone. You can take all the pictures you want, call everyone you know, use the MDE app all you need, and still not worry. Just charge the Jackery overnight, and you're good to go. This baby can charge your phone (and/or iPad) all day long. I LOVED it!

October 2013 the wifi was very spotty. So we turned it off and just ran off data. iPhone 4 turned off all app stuff and keep it plugged into battery charger, when not using.

The only day we had a problem with our electronics was night we plugged them into power strip and power strip wasn't plugged all the way in, lol oh well silly us had to go old school.

In 11/2014, the park's wifi was awful. We upped our data plan in anticipation of the trip, and switched to it when the wifi wasn't working. MUCH preferable.

Never had a problem with the phone dying, but we're not morning till midnight folks - at least without a break. If my phone was fully charged up, I had no problem making it last till we took a break ... and I used it for photos, texts, checking the time, switching things on MDE, etc.

We do have some portable chargers, but didn't have to resort to them.

Just make sure you religiously charge your phones when you're back in the room.
