ANOTHER Adventure in Autism (4/15) A Taste of What's to Come...

Buzz is right (gasp, I know). Every year, he asks me if we should "GAC it." Well, I think about it, then let too much time run by and it's too late by the time I think we should do it. One of these days, we'll use it.

I didn't know that about kids and nightmares. It makes sense. Trey is 8 1/2 and all of a sudden he has to fall asleep with the light on. :confused3 I'll say goodnight to him and I can tell what he's going to do b/c he's really insistent that I leave! "Bye Mom. Night Mom." As soon as I leave his room, I shut the door and hear a "click" and I knew he's turned his lamp on.

I was a huge fraidy cat when I was a kid. Hated to sleep in the dark. It's probably only been the last several months, I don't need a light on to fall asleep (when Buzz is gone that is). If he's here, I don't care b/c he's in charge of our safety. Now that's a scary thought. :lmao:

I'm too afraid to ride Mission Space. I don't want to get sick. Maybe I'll try it next fall.

Hi Kathy,

sorry I've been away a bit with the busy of the Holidays and such....glad to be up to date on your report. I alwys love reading how things go. You put such great detial in it!

Here are my tidbits:

back about 10 pgs....

You are scaring me on this whole room issue thing....:scared:

sorry about the no go's on your Aug RV trip and missing the Jan-run weekend (was hoping for some Poly thoughts, guess you'll have to wait on me) BUT!!! yeah that you'll be able to go for a few days in April that sounds wonderful. We just loved the F & G show when we were there in 05

love so many of your pictures...tell Tricia I love her pin lanyard for Jessica! very clever and I like the pic of Ed with Mickey at your character meal

at the Studios, sorry about missing out on the frontline for ToT and that was cool with the whole "it's a small world thing" at PTC

I like your analogy about the bus stop waiters...geese:lmao:

Epcot: ugh! on your inital plan not working...tell that CM to wake Figment up! but it sounds like everything is working out. We always enjoy the Kodak Labs too, the kids especially love the Stepping Stones too.

Sorry about Ed's work calls...hope it doesn't continue

Finally Thanks for the last post about the GAC! I always love that I can read from you the "real stuff" You are always so personal down to earth with sharing your experiences. You continue to help others and me as we trek through traveling/planning in WDW with special needs children.

so THANKS! :flower3:

Hey Kathy,

I've been lurking for awhile now and I'm not caught up yet, but I had to post when I reached the part about the no-fly list.

My DH has been a cop all of his working life (and he's near retirement). He now runs the local police academy, and he's on the no-fly list!

The last time he flew he was detained (by this I mean escorted by the elbows --one TSA agent on each side) by an airline (whose initials are AA) not once, but twice-- Once in Tampa, and once in Dallas. They caused him to miss his initial flight out of Tampa so THEY put him on the connecting flight to Dallas, whereupon the powers that be caused him to miss THAT flight. What should have been a two hour flight took about 8 hours.

On the return trip he took another airline and wasn't stopped at all. Their explanation--- every airline has a different no-fly list.

HUH???:confused3

jcc0621: Thanks! Billy would play in Imageworks for hours if he could! (You know it wasn't him sleeping in UoE!!)

DisMomAmy: You should definitely try GG; just ask for that table on the lower tier. :thumbsup2 And I'm glad my report was a help to you.

Hedy: And they say women like to talk on the phone! Phhttt!

MDF: I'm so glad Trey can tolerate the lines; he sounds so sweet! I wish he and Billy could meet someday....

DisneyJo: LOL on the Michael Eisner/golf story!

tiggerbell: I picked up the Eisner tidbit on the History Channel! (Modern Marvels: WDW)

Jake & Crew: Ughh! Can't believe we're going to miss each other that closely!

Jordanyosh: Yes, unfortunately there was a big difference in Aunt Rae this year....I hate to say it.....but it may have been her last trip with us. More to follow....

whgrn: If there are bad apples out there, I'd like to think they're not on the DISboards! ::yes::

mrsksomeday: Hmmmm. Should I start paying you a commission?? ;)

Jen32113: Oh, what wonderful memories for your family! I'm so glad you were able to do that!

preschoolmom: TGM really helped us, too. I hope you'll write a trip report when you get back!

Goofster57: Goof! Welcome back, yourself!! More Tricia and her pins are definitely coming up!

Halloweenqueen: I'm glad its not a secret; everyone should have the chance to enjoy WDW! pixiedust:

LTP: Billy was fine with a nightlight up until about six months ago; now he needs his little lamp on at night. Ah well, what does it hurt? As long as he can sleep with it on....I know I wouldn't be able to....I need total darkness!

mousescrapper: waaah!! I would have been at the Poly this weekend!! Oh well, we did get to eat at Ohana....that's something!

daly7o9: I am just as perplexed as you are!!

Thanks, everyone!

Kathy

Good to see you back!!!

I'll catch up over the weekend from work :goodvibes

“Go and sit with your aunt and have some breakfast so I can get dressed,” I whispered. She and Jessica set off for the kitchen while I quickly stuffed her sofa bed back into place.

Yay - Tricia to the rescue - good child :thumbsup2

Ed was making our bed. (Funny, he never, ever makes our bed at home but insists that we must make our bed before we leave our hotel room whenever we go away! :rotfl2: Go figure!)

My gloating was short-lived, however, as a CM from the pavilion greeted us with a broad smile. “Figment is still sleeping,” she said. “When do you think he will be waking up?” I replied, working hard to keep a matching smile plastered on my face. “I’m not sure,” she chirped, “he doesn’t seem to want to get out of bed this morning!” And then, the clincher: “Have a magical day!”

If it seems to good to be true - it usually is :sad2:

She was a very personable CM and was happy to talk with Tricia about her pins. I was beginning to get annoyed at Ed, but the kids were both enjoying themselves, so I just decided to go with the flow….for a little while. After about five minutes of watching the gulls and snapping a few pictures, I was on the verge of snapping at my pre-occupied DH! I motioned to him that we were going on ahead and I proceded to herd the rest of the family inside.

Temper...temper :teeth:

Anyway, the show started and it was a major hit with Billy. He laughed and clapped his hands and I was so glad that he had the chance to enjoy the show. (You may recall that last year, I let Tricia sit with him and he started to hit her when she shushed him too much. Then Ed took him out and he missed the entire show.) It was a much better experience this time around! Billy especially loved when Dory had her "close encounter" with the huge whale...the tears were streaming down his face, he was laughing so hard!

I'm glad Billy was able to see the whole show this year :goodvibes

Brand-New Ticker!!!

Mwah-ha-ha-ha!!

"Wel-l-l....why don't you see how much it would cost for the four of us to make a short trip during spring break.....," he finally said and BAM! I was off and running!!:rotfl:

:dance3: :yay: :dance3:

Okay, Jordan!! I get the hint!

(Like you don't have enough to read on this board.....SHEESH!!!)

Kathy

I know I have something like 40+ threads I'm subscribed to.....

But yours is one of the first ones I read...so it feels like home to me.....

I have to admit it would be a bit unnerving to me if I were planning to do the Orange Team!

We've done neither. After I read about some kid dying, I'm too afraid :sad2:

Finally caught up Kathy!

You certainly have a way with words :thumbsup2
