Amy & Jeff: 10/24/11 20th Anniv. Vow Renewal **8/4 - We surrender!**

Yeah!!! You finally started a PJ. I didn't realize who you were until I saw the monogram.

I LOVE candy buffets and think they are great for small or big events. I have a tip for your candy buffet since you said you are going to have a smaller group for your VR. I love big candy buffets with lots of jars and candy and the way you can do that without having to buy tons of candy that will be left over is take a clear glass drinking glass and turn it upside down and place it in the bottom of your jar. Then fill the candy around and over the glass so that the jar looks completely filled. This will save you a little bit of money on candy!

Hope that makes sense. Maybe it will help with your candy buffet.

:wave2: Dolly! Took me long enough to get going on this PJ, right? ;)

That's a great tip on making the jars look more full. :thumbsup2 We may have to incorporate that one. I'm also going to be contacting you about candy bar wrappers ... gotta use that beautiful logo you made us! :goodvibes

The candy buffet sounds great Amy!!!
Love the blingy Mickey. Did you use a hotfix crystal applicator wand? If so, which one are you using? I must admit that I am considereing puchasing one of these.

I actually do have a hotfix wand (it's made by Crystal Innovations -- it's the "Bejeweler Crystal Fire"), but I've only ever used that on fabric items. When I did the toppers, Mickey and my shoes, I used Aleene's Jewel-It glue.

I know a lot of people swear by E-6000 glue, but I can't tolerate the smell of it. I've had no problems with gems coming loose with the Jewel-It, and I've used it on projects for a long time. :thumbsup2

LOVE the bedazzled topper & vinylation. So cute. :lovestruc
You did an awesome job. I was thinking of using the vinylations for my cake topper (took that idea from someone else on the boards too :rolleyes1) so maybe I can have a matching bigger set for the guest book table. LOL!

Thank you for the kind words, and I LOOOOVE the idea of vinylmations on your cake and bigger versions to match!! That would be adorable!! :lovestruc

LOVE the vinylmation!!! We are doing the vinylmation mickeys for our cake topper, as well as the vinylmation guestbook. Such a cute idea!!! And I love your cake topper!!!

Love your blinged out topper and vinylmation!! In fact I love all your ideas!! The dress is gorgeous, I am going to try on Maggie dresses later this month and I can't wait! :yay:

Can't wait to read more!

Plans so far:

Our colors are purple, dark aqua and silver. Disney is doing the floral for our ceremony since we're in Epcot but I've made my own bouquet. This was my inspiration:

And this is the end result:

I made dh's boutonniere, but didn't take a photo of it.

I've also made our centerpieces:

And a Mickey ribbon topiary for our guest book table:

My latest project is our cake topper and I'll post a photo of that when it's done. :)

We also had the amazing Dolly make up a logo for us that I will be using as much as possible 'cuz I'm in LOVE with it:

I love the bouquet and the Mickey topiary. The colours are so pretty.

Oh, you will LOVE BLT!! We bought in and stayed there for my 40th bday in '09 and seriously, it is so wonderful!

I actually just ordered my dress. It's a spring 2011 Maggie Sottero dress called "Ursula". None of the shops have it in yet because it's so new, so I ordered it untried! I tried on similar dresses to make sure the cut of the gown is good, so I'm not worried (too much, LOL!). This is my beautiful, gorgeous, fabulous dress (can you tell I'm in love with it?):

I ordered it in alabaster, which looks a bit like a cross between ivory and champagne.

Jeff will wear a suit, and we're waiting to look at them for a couple of months because he and I are both trying to lose weight. I ordered the dress in the size that I am because they promised it could go down at least 2 sizes in alterations, plus it has a corset back which can pull things in further if necessary. :thumbsup2

The dress is gorgeous.

Oh, I love your dress! And isn't alabaster a pretty color? The only problem I'm having is finding shoes to match. I found a pair of Nina shoes that I love at DSW, but I took them to the bridal shop to check the color against an alabaster dress and the color doesn't work. Then I saw on Nina's website that you can do a custom pair of the same shoes (yay!), so I ordered their swatch book and am hoping there will be a color in there that will work. :)

As far as what's going on my head (love that!), I put the cart before the horse and bought a headband on Etsy a few months ago. I totally love it so I'm hoping it looks good with the dress:

Thank you!! :goodvibes

I really like this headband.

Thanks Corinna and Michelle! And YAY for more vow renewals!! :goodvibes

I've been spending a little time on things for Jeff and thought I'd share. :)

I snagged a Mickey top hat on eBay and changed the ribbon to silver to match our colors and my sparkly sequin Minnie ears:

We also found the *perfect* tie for him at Men's Wearhouse ...

We plan to buy him a dark grey suit to wear later this summer; still not sure what color shirt he should wear with it. Any suggestions?

If you buy the suit at Men's Wearhouse, they are great at showing you different options for shirt/tie combinations to go with the suit. Make sure you take your tie with you so they can pick combinations to match. I would think that a white shirt would look great with your white dress and color combintations. You may even consider a black suit with a light grey shirt.

Oh man, I think I'm losing my mad ebay skills, I've been looking for these hats EVERY SINGLE DAY on there...haha!
Congrats on finding them!!!

Amy - loving the hat and the ears!!! I recently purchased the coloured sequin minnie ears with a veil to wear to breakfast on the VR morning!!!

Thanks! I got lucky finding them, and it definitely took a while before they popped up. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you can find them, too!

Thanks! I figured we could wear the hat and ears for photos with Mickey. ;)

We've also come up with a dilemma, and I posted a poll on the main board to get input. We've made the decision to stay as close to our required minimum expenditure as possible, and that means giving something up. We either stay with an Italy ceremony and give up our MK photo session, or we keep the MK photo session and add an Epcot photo session and move our ceremony to Sea Breeze Point.

We're so confused, and I'm really stressed out. I really wanted an in-park ceremony, but I don't know if it's worth giving up the MK shoot. OTOH, SBP is really pretty, but I don't know if having park photos and no park ceremony is "enough". Help!!

I love all of your plans so far! Your colour scheme is original and so pretty :goodvibes And I love the tie from mens warehouse! Your dress is beautiful too!

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

So after getting lots of good feedback on the main board and crunching numbers every which way, we're going to try to stay with Italy and do our best to get our MK photos as well. We have 'til 30 days before the VR to drop things, so we're gonna cross our fingers and hope we don't have to drop anything.

Amy - I posted on the main board about this.
I hope you can come to a decision that you are both happy with!!

Thanks, Joanne. I think we'll be okay with things the way we're planning now, but we're just going to stay flexible and let whatever little things go that we have to so we can make the big stuff happen. :thumbsup2
