American Horror Story - Season 6, Anyone?

I watched last night - the Kathy Bates parts were the best. But one part scared me - I jumped out of my seat - the scene in the car (hope that doesn't spoil anything for anyone). I'm wondering also - if that Shelby and Matt either embellished their story or somehow made a deal with the butcher to get more people there for her to kill? I'm thinking maybe they lied about their story - since why would they ever ever go back there? She said it was so she could see Matt again but that seems a little over the top. And Matt is so mad about her cheating - but he did the same with the witch! And yes - the accent is super funny.

I think Lee's motivation was to clear her name? It's a stretch, as they mentioned she had landed a 7 figure book deal, and she is being sued for custody of her daughter by her mother in law (not sure how leaving your child to go on a reality tv show helps you with that one). Matt's wasn't really discussed. Perhaps his motive was Shelby? He could have gone to see her without having to deal with the possibility of getting murdered by a man wearing a pig head, but perhaps he felt being almost murdered again would help him forgive his wife?
Makes sense, re: Lee. It was pretty much inferred, you're right. I was thinking Matt's motive was the Supreme.

That's actually a popular theory going around on various TV message boards that I visit. And since some of the posts I read were pretty accurate about last night's episode, I wouldn't be surprised if that were indeed the case.

Thank you. I was underwhelmed as well. I thought it was just me being overly critical because everyone on Twitter was posting how they thought the episode and the twist were awesome. A TV message board I frequent had posted that this exact thing was going to happen, and I thought it was so far-fetched that I didn't buy it...so no, the joke's on me! LOL! I think I'll keep watching, out of curiosity and to see how ridiculous it gets.

what are some good tv show message boards?

Why the heck are there cameras in the bathroom and peeking into the shower?? That's a huge no no for reality shows. Furthermore, going back to the first episode, if this is supposed to be a parody of those "A Haunting" type shows, well...I've never seen one that included graphic lovemaking scenes. :ssst:

If all the stuff that happened in that house was real, I can't imagine any reason why Shelby, Matt, and Lee would ever set foot in that house again, especially during a blood moon. So yes, they most likely have a deal going on with The Butcher that "spares" them in exchange for other people to kill, just like the deal the hillbillies had in the "dramatic re-enactment". Maybe the real reason Shelby was adamant that Cuba Gooding Jr. not partake in the show is because she doesn't want him to die.

Kathy Bates has been my favorite part of AHS since Coven.

A popular theory online involving the "final twist" is that what we are watching now is another fake show. That even the producer is an actor this time. The whole bit about everyone dying but one is fake. Like Paranormal Activity. I have to say, if this theory proves correct, I don't know if I could ever forgive AHS. That, IMO, would be the dumbest twist of all time. Let's hope that is not the case. Really hoping the next episode takes us in a different direction. Not sure what that would be, but I don't want to watch the "live" version of what we have already watched in the first 5 episodes. And I don't want to find out that we are just watching another show/fake production. AHS backed itself into a corner with this one, lets see if they can get out.

I totally agree. Been there done that with Paranormal and Blair Witch. If the story is as it seems -- that they interviewed these people over things that really happened to them and then went back in to make a reality show and all died -- that's fine. Otherwise, it will just be another copycat of all these storylines ad naseum!

I think the only thing that makes sense is that the twist has to be that it's not the butcher or Lady Gaga who is the mastermind of the ordeal. I just refuse to believe that they are going to make us relive the first 5 episodes through a new lens. They have to be bringing something else to the table. I guess they don't, as evidenced by last season, but I wish they would.

I thought last season's was the worst so far. Even worse than this season so far -- mostly because it was repetitive and boring.

So.......It is just a found footage season? It's hard to put my finger on what I feel is missing from this season. Most people seem to be really enjoying it. I just can't help but feel we wasted our time in the first 5 episodes. Maybe that's it? There definitely is a lot of action now, but I can't get into it. Anyone else feel like this, or is this a personal problem :)

I started out thinking that after the first episode this was going to be a boring trainwreck. Then by episode three they had me hooked, and I feel the momentum has been building ever since. Last season, the hotel version, never took off for me. I stayed with it to the end, but thought it pancaked in episode one and never really went anywhere.

Hotel was by far the worst season. I never got it. Always watched it a week or 2 after the original air date if there was nothing else on. This season is definitely better. I will say that I do look forward to the next episodes. Maybe what I feel is missing will be revealed next week. Glad the show is at least trending upward!

Out of all the seasons, I feel this one ranks up at the top as one of the better ones.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed last night's episode. I feel like it started out a bit on the weak side, but I really enjoyed that it was so action packed. Despite that, I did think that things started to deteriorate again for me once we met up with the cannibal family...ugh. They're just so gross!

Yeah that part stepped over the torture porn line, I love good horror, but not that way.

I think this is my least favorite season. I'm hanging in there, though. I just can't get into the format. I also miss Jessica Lange (I know she was gone last season, too). I think the best part of this season (and last) is Kathy Bates.

Honestly, I think this family is completely unnecessary and a complete distraction to this storyline! We have enough going on with the Roanoke ghosts and the Butcher and the family trauma among the participants. Every time the cannibal family shows up it's almost like a joke.

Gotta be honest though -- last night's episode (for me) was a confusing mess. That handheld camera crap is overdone and it just seemed like a bunch of stupid women screaming at each other instead of trying to save themselves. So I guess we now realize that part of this crew died because they will be eaten? Not what I expected at all.

This season is a hot mess. I think it had potential but after seeing the latest episode I just don't know if I can watch anymore. The whole Shelby thing, sorry I don't buy that she would do something like that at all. There really isn't a story anymore just a bunch of over the top slashing and gore.
I was really hoping for something with more substance and less shock value like the first season.

Yes, the whole Shelly storyline with her husband has become ridiculous. In the "documentary" they were so loving talking about each other and how they were there for each other and then you find out that they separated almost right after they escaped the house the first time! I got to the point where I didn't are if they lived or died!
