American Horror Story - Season 6, Anyone?

Even though I know the outcome from a PP, I'm going to keep watching to the end, but I think they may have jumped the shark already!
I watched at lunch and you are right. I don't know how else to put it--such a goofy episode. And then next week's preview...really?

It started off ok in the beginning, but steadily went down hill, I think. It was a ridiculous concept that if any of those things actually transpired, that anyone would actually go back to stay at that house. I'm not even going to get into how horrible the plot has gotten, or how stupid Sarah Paulson's lame English accent sounds, and it's just gore and violence and ick without a decent plot. I'm not even sure I'm going to watch the last two.

I'm apparently in the minority (at least on this thread)..I am LOVING this season. It's so dark and twisted. I don't think it's dumb at all. When I first watched the episode that showed they were going back to the house I was hesitant. But, I think it's been great to see all the actual people..not just the reenactors (that's my new word lol)

The only part I haven't liked is that they made Finn so ugly this time around.

Sadly, to me, this also describes seasons 2-5.

Again, to me, the reenactment was creepier than reality. The reenactment had the ghosts, and eery back stories, conjuring type stuff. Reality has the Polks, the fake butcher, a quick visit from the real butcher, and more Polks. If they wanted a Texas Chainsaw season, they should have just don't that. Seems like they are just throwing everything at the canvas at this point. And they want to end it with a trial?! I don't know why every year I watch. But I do.....Next year will be the year! :)

Every week I think they cant get any worse than the week before but I turn out to be wrong. Its almost like the writers on the show had a take your kids to work day and let them come up with the story and the script for this entire season.

Finally watched the whole episode and you are so right -- of all the seasons, this is the worst for steady decline, imbecile situations and just outright gratuitous gore. Even as bad as hotel was, it kept progressing along even if it was lame.

ANOTHER close up scene of someone being gutted!?! Did we buy too much makeup and props this year and you feel the need to use them all up. And how sad for that actor to get to have about 10 minutes worth of scene only to be knifed and gutted. And oh let's also show some young adults getting impaled and burned at the stake. And if we want any logic here at all, what was keeping their bodies from just sliding down those poles the whole time? I don't care about the gore and ridiculousness of the plot twists, I'm just pissed that they started out with a great concept and show, and then apparently lost their way with the direction they were trying to go with it.

This week's episode seemed like a cheap imitation of one of those horror movies of kids in the woods who always die horrible deaths. The moving camera thing was nauseating and hard to follow -- horrible camera work and awful acting and storyline this week. They have lost me -- there's better shows I can watch that don't require me to cringe.

Sorry, I just feel that strongly about this week. I feel they have gone too far over the top for me and lost focus of the original "haunted house" reality show. Seems like they got through that scenario and then realized they still had to fill 5 more episodes, so went lame.

Agree with you. The intestines didn't look right, they looked like sausages, it was silly. It was kind of like last season, in that they seemed to have gotten a bulk deal on 55gallon drums of blood. This year, it's the hog butcherer that was giving them discounts.

Excellent article pretty much touching upon what I didn't like, including the part about looking like a "Scream" movie. http://www.indiewire.com/2016/11/am...w-chapter-9-audrey-recap-spoilers-1201745104/

I totally forgot about Sarah Paulson playing the interviewer -- because we're supposed to totally forget she looks exactly like the actress.

And some how she looks 20 years younger than she did at the end of Asylum......

I feel like they are breaking their backs to make connections across the seasons rather than just giving us a quality season. If you want to reference the other seasons, fine. But since they all weren't written together, its a difficult task, and frankly hasn't really been very smooth when they try. 1 and 2 didn't have this problem, obviously. Probably why they are regarded as the best. There is no mystery this year. They tried to fabricate it with the promises of twists. It was a cheap trick and so was the product.

I may be wrong, but I didn't notice any connections trying to be made to other seasons in the carnival season either. That season was less bloody, but so torturous and vindictive toward the characters!

For sure the character Pepper was in Freak Show and Asylum. I can't remember if there was anything else.

This exactly! Loved episode one and two, but not so much since. And I love Sarah, but that accent is dreadful!!! And all the disembowelments, really?? They are wasting most of their talent, I am not sure why Gaga was even cast, Taissa gets an hour, Evan gets 2 episodes or so? The Polk family really is just torture porn, and I really hate torture porn. I am glad there is only one left. One of these days I will actually give up and stop watching this show. I say that, and yet I watch again.

I think we watch because we want to see how crazy it will get and how far the writer will go -- but this season may just be enough for me!

Well I was enjoying it at first, but then after the re-enactment part was over it just started to go downhill for me. But last week's episode took the cake for awfulness. Probably the worst and most boring/ridiculous AHS episode to date. I'm the type of person who can't just stop watching something after I've already invested so much time into it, so I'll have to see it through. Glad there's only one more episode left.

Oh that's such a curse -- I'm the same way. Once I invest several episodes into something, I have to at least see the first season through to see what happens. My DD will watch one episode of something and be done -- I at least try to give the show the benefit of the doubt and see where it's going. Some shows/series I was glad I did (they were going to cancel Seinfeld after just four episodes), others I'm not (like Dexter and SOA -- just because of their finales).

Wow. I don't know how everyone else feels, but that was hands down the worst ending to a season of AHS. There was so much promise this season. Teases of mind blowing twists. A "hat on a hat on a hat"....What we got was a terrible story with a worse ending. No twists. No explanations. No tying of loose ends. They didn't even try. The only real horror I experienced is when I realized I had watched the whole season.
