American Horror Story: Hotel

Just finished Coven tonight. I hope I will like Freak Show. It seems to have very mixed reviews on here.

I liked Freak Show.. The one I liked the least was actually Coven. Loved Asylum

Call me weird, too- I really like this season so far. Better, IMO, than either Coven or Freak Show. I absolutely loved Murder House and Asylum was almost as good. Looking forward to seeing how the different storylines mesh as the season progresses, and I really want to find out more about Liz Taylor, Dennis O'Hare's character. Also, the handsome men are great to watch- Finn Wittrock, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Max Greenfield, and Wes Bentley.

Im not sure if I like this season, its better then last season for sure, and its hot, but im not all in yet

Anyone else think GaGa's character might be March's wife? There was a scene where it only showed his wife's head and she made a comment about liking to watch. The Countess made a similar comment at some point.

I haven't watched episode 2 yet and now I wonder if I should. I hated the first half of episode 1 and it sounds like this episode is just more of the same. Shock just for the sake of being shocking doesn't do much for me.

I loved Coven and thought that Freak Show was pretty good but so far this season has been a let down.

I'm still meh on this season. The gore and sex doesn't bother me or anything, it's just boring. I actually forgot I was watching the second episode and started cleaning my kitchen, lol. That's not something I've ever done with this show before. I have definite concerns, not just about this season but any that may follow as well. Seems like the writers aren't really trying anymore.

Well, I'm into Freak Show right now. Episode 4. I just don't think I like the whole carny vibe of this season. Is it going to get any better?

Hard to say, since we all have such different tastes on this thread! I liked Murder House and LOVED Coven. I didn't like Asylum and Freak Show and so far, I really dislike this season. So it's really hard to say if it gets better :) My answer would be no... but that's solely my opinion. :rolleyes1

I kind of liked Freak Show but I really like Jessica Lange. Edward Mordrake was an incredible character that didn't show up until later unfortunately. It took me a while to get used to the odd characters overall but once I did I was fine with the season.

If I could go back and redo Freak Show, I would have kept Twisty longer, and introduced Edward Mordrake sooner.

*SPOILER ALERT!* I did, however, love that Dandy wound up being the main bad guy. That was a nice bait & switch, introducing Twisty (a horrific clown most anyone would be afraid of) only to have the real messed up killer freak be someone sweet-looking and charming on the outside, but truly evil on the inside.

The third episode really sped up the storylines- I liked it a lot. Angela Bassett's character is fun! And poor Alex saw her vampire son, Holden.

Anyone thinking about watching, hold on through this episode. The stories start to take shape more than the first 2 episodes.

Yeah, I think the first two episodes were meant to kick off the start of the season with attention-grabbing shock value, and now it's starting to take shape. I actually felt really bad for Kathy Bates' character in this episode (partially because Kathy Bates has always kind of reminded me of my mom, looks-wise). I also noticed that this episode wasn't as long as the first two (90 mins vs 60 mins), so it seems we're starting to get back to 'normal'.

Actually without the commericals the first episode was 62, the 2nd was 74 and this one was 56. I have noticed shows on FX can be whatever the heck length they want, whenever they want. Fargo is the same way.
I did like most of this episode better. But I could still use to see an episode without a half naked Gaga climbing all over people. I think she is doing a great job, but that part is really old now. Next week looks to be very interesting :-)

Ok, it's getting a little better now. It took me until this past episode to realize who the actor playing Liz Taylor is/was on the show before, lol.
