ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: Summer 2011 Edition!

Well I looked into it. I dont want to reveal too much in open conversation, but if there is no cap on price, I am not paying more for it. Disney said I could have it. I guess it has to do with my transplant since my POR room was not ready. But I just asked, didnt have to twist any arms, foots, or anything else to get it.

If I was going to have to pay for it Id say no way.



Nice I am taking a list with me to get so we can try all of the reasons POLY is as good as the veterans say.

That is super if I ever stay at the Poly, and that is a big IF since DH is not fond of the theme after going to the Aloha Dinner Show, I think CL is the best choice since you then know what building you will be in and can see the fireworks from the lounge

Congrates, you are going to have the best trip ever I think.

You're getting all the benefits that many of us that have scrimped & scraped to just be able to afford Garden View now have about zero chance of a comp upgrade to get, because the Royal Room transplants are scooping them all up. Hey I'm glad you're getting the free upgrade, as I'm sure everyone is, but enough already. The last few pages have been dominated with your "ins" at Poly and your repeated asking for better upgrades. Yes I get it that you're "owed" that for the screw up with the Royal Rooms, but those of us paying top dollar for what you're gettng at a Royal Room rate are done having it thrown in our faces every few hours.

Just my two cents.

Umm well first, I wasnt the only one. I only asked about one of the upgrades, not repeated! Sounds like your just having a bad day. But I do hope your evening treats you better. Remember no reason to be sore over Disney's Mistake.

But Ill tell you what let this be the end of it. You wont hear us asking about it anymore, but just blending in with the rest of the poly fans.

I do totally see where Judy is coming from though - yes there were many that posted with their excitement over the free upgrade from POFQ - but you're the only one who keeps asking for, and getting more (you asked a few times over what to request, what building, what floor, GV, TPV, CL, etc), and posting about it. The rest said they were thankful for anything they were offered & took it. They didn't keep digging for more.

Judy doesn't have more cents to give I guess - she's spending it all at Poly! Here's hoping there's a comp upgrade left in the system for her after all the POFQ's get there!

Well I didn't ask what building, because when they called I already knew what building I wanted. I told the Disney team member then I started posting here. I know I asked what the differences was between that level and CL. But that was today. I was immediately offered TPV because of the view I paid for at POR. They don't look at the price in this case they. They look at what they promised the guests. I just asked about the Hawaii Building and they gave it to me. So sorry I just want to drop it. I wont be asking or seeming like want anything else. Promise. Cant we just get a long. You all have been great in giving info, suggestions, and drink suggestions also.

I hope you do as well. I am sorry for this, I was just scouting a better view of the Castle, and the lady even said the Hawaii building would be the best view. That's when we talked into making the move. Who knows where I will get and that is only one room on that level, I am sure you will be able to move up.

Actually I have a legitimate upgrade question - if I want to pay to upgrade to CL at checkin, if it's available, is there a set rate for it or is it a discounted rate, based on my room rate? OR do I call reservations before we go & inquire then? Do I stand a better chance at a better deal if I wait? I'm taking my best friend for her birthday, a split stay between BC & Poly, and I thought I'd see how much at either (or both) to upgrade. I did book BC CL for later in March for the family trip with the AP discount, so I'd much rather pay for CL at Poly for the friends trip.

Yeah I was trying to figure out what view they had in their original reservation. Because if they didnt have a river view at POR then they most likely wont get TPV or Lagoon View at the poly.

I would call and get one quote, if it seems good take it. If you want to wait I have seen them upgrade lots of guest at the time of check in for free over at the POR. Are you AAA member or anything?

Hi all!! What a great thread! We'll be going to our first Poly stay in September and can't wait!! Originally booked at the Art of Animation, but decided we'd like to stay at a monorail resort instead. My 9 year old actually convinced us to go with Poly because she saw it on the Disney channel and loved it.
