Just booked July 21st-July 28 at the beautiful Poly thanks to a PIN code!!! We may be adding on a few days in the beginning (right now we're booked at Pop for 3 nights before) if a good AP discount comes out. I'm SO excited though!​

It is nice to receive a free upgrade for sure. But if they hadn't offered that when they had to cancel our POR Royal room, I might be putting my crying daughter on the phone with guest services to let them explain why she couldn't stay in the princess Tiana room!

I think Disney handled this as well as they could. I would have been angry if we hadn't been offered any good options (Deluxe was more than I expected though). Instead of feeling negative toward Disney, I'm left feeling like we got a little magic.

Nope. It is a Disney mystery. I have never received one either. There are lots of threads on here guessing about how to get one, so you could search out some of those ideas, but I don't think anyone knows how they really send them out.

As to the rhyme or reason behind pin codes, I am really stumped as our latest one was sent to our 13 year old son. Luckily, since he is on the trip, we are allowed to use it. He doesn't even go on Disney games anymore although I think he used to play one on line a few years ago. I haven't been sent a pin code in my name in ages despite being signed up for everything.

We will be at Poly from Feb. 21- Feb. 28.

We just decided to book a trip this February for our son's 8th birthday. We are going to stay at the Poly as we constantly say "we should have stayed there again."

Are there any renovations being done there that we should be aware of or a site I can go to to check that out? We haven't stayed there since his 1st trip in 2005... so we are thrilled to be there again. Renovations won't deter us, I'd just rather know before we get there.


This is a suprise trip, they won't find out till the day we leave! I'm so excited to be back at the POLY and very hopeful that I don't blow it in the next few weeks!

try to delete the spaces in the edit your signature. it looks like you skipped a couple of lines.

If you paste the two side by side not one below the other. It might bring it up to see it.

Last summer we ate at the Poly twice and for our trip this summer DD12 asked if we could do a split stay between YC and Poly. We have stayed at YC last 3 summers and just love the area, etc. This year though I was able to work our touring plans that staying a the Poly for 2 nights would make sense based on our MK day and dining plans.

However I have read so much negative on Poly rooms - from people who had peeling wallpaper and mold to dirty carpet etc. I am unable to figure out if the poly was renovated in parts or if all rooms are on the same playing field.

Room decor is important to me. I like a fresh room and paying that much a night for rooms in need of repair would bother me.Are some longhouses updated? Do you request a certain longhouse to stay at? On estimate how long of a walk would one be from a longhouse to the main hub with ohanas and the monorail etc.

I am so sure all of this is answered in the 200 pages above but I need to pull the trigger quickly to change if that is what I am going to do. I am an EXPERT on YC but feel in the dark over here! thanks so much.

Does the zero entry part of the volcano pool have sand in it, because it's next to the beach...when I say sand I mean sand bottom like beach club...not just accidentally kicked into the pool? I though I saw a description that sounded like that but can't tell from the pics. TIA
