Acccck having a really rough time with a decision we made. We are staying at the Poly for seven days. My dh then announced that he got two more days off and suggested Universal which my boys jumped at. I booked it but I am not happy. I want to stay at the Poly the whole time. There really is nothing much that I can do with my back, neck, and motion sickness from simulators at Universal. The moving also bothers me. I would just rather stay at the Poly, stay relaxed, and then go home rather than moving across the city for a two day stay.

So I just uploaded my pics to PB. I am going to be doing a TR and will be posting them there eventually, but figured y'all might be interested in the pics I took of the Poly while we were there last week...Enjoy!!

Love the pics.....thanks for sharing :goodvibes. Seeing all of the great Poly pics is getting me more excited to get back to the Poly, even if I do have to wait until December :rolleyes1.

It is going to be a LONG 5 days till we get there.

You will be there before you know it :dance3:. I have over 4 months to wait, but from seeing all of these great CL pics, I'm thinking it will be worth the wait ::yes::.

They made me so excited that I am choosing the right resort for my family and extended family!
:cheer2:

I think you made a great choice in choosing the Poly :). The Poly is an amazing resort and although we have loved all of the resorts we've stayed at, the Poly is our favorite for so many reasons. I think you and your family are going to have an awesome trip as the Poly is just that amazing :wizard:.

Wow i just saw some pictures of the GF villas from the polynesian beach.. its a shame it really killed such a nice view:worried:

I agree about the view. We've stayed GF RPC and my favorite view from our room is looking out across the lagoon at the Poly from our balcony, but sadly, that beautiful view is gone :(.

The next frontier is Disneyland -- my wife went as a teen, but I haven't been there, so we're thinking maybe in 2014.

We are thinking the same thing for next year. We've never been to California but have always wanted to go, so we are considering a DL/California trip next summer. As much as I want to see California and experience DL, I'm afraid I will miss WDW. But I guess the easiest solution is to plan a few days at WDW another time of the year to get that fix :rotfl: :rotfl:.

Once a Disney Addict always a Disney Addict. Once you have been bitten there is no cure.:worship::worship::worship:

I agree......it's a sickness .

Wish I was going back but are trying VGF in Jan as a family and CBR 8/13 with dd and BFF.

I know how you feel about missing the Poly, but the VGF look beautiful.....I think you have a great time :goodvibes.

Hmmm, that's a tough decision. Could you possibly go to Universal first, and stay at the Royal Pacific (it's a tropical decor), then head to Poly for the remainder? It might be better than Poly first......then NOT wanting to leave Poly (which is how I felt this past Saturday :( ) to head elsewhere.

I have never been to Universal, but would love to go. I am sure your boys and DH would love it, and it might surprise you in the end.

good luck with your decision!!

We are booked at the Royal Pacific at the end of our vacation. I desperately wanted to stay with the Polynesian feel if we had to move. I know the boys and dh will have fun but I fear I will end up standing around being the holder of everyone's stuff while they go on the rides. Paying 136.00 for a ticket to be the official holder of stuff seems kinda silly. Staying at the resort isn't really an option either as it is a family trip. We are too close to change our reservations now at the Poly.

I'd try to put universal first, too! Great idea!!

Quick question - I can't find where to board monorail at poly. Is it just over at ttc? Or is there a spot near the lobby building (gch or whatever it's called). Thank you for your patience with me. :)

It is in front of the GCH

Wow - you're fast!! :)

Ok so I'm REALLY inexperienced with disney world... Does the monorail fill up with people at the transportation center? Is it packed by the time it gets to gch?

I have never seen it jam packed. If I remember rightly the Poly is on the resort loop which differs from the regular monorail to MK

LOL I am sitting at the computer and it alerts me when I have an email from this thread.

No. Sometimes it gets crowded but we've never not gotten on because it's full...and this is in the peak summer season. We've had to stand at times, but rarely.

Drat just talked to the boys and they are set on going to Universal so I am odd man out.

Sorry I should have specified that it is on the second floor in the front of the GCH

No worries, we are staying at the poly for the first time ever and I have notes upon notes so I can find my way around :)

We have visited City Walk a few times and it actually is nice over there. We took the boat over to the resorts and walked around and they look really nice as well. I know it will be hard leaving the Poly, but I'm sure you will have a good time at Universal and at Royal Pacific :goodvibes.

I would hate changeing resorts for the last 2 days too but you do get the front of line passes if staying at a US resort so that is a BIG plus::yes::

We visited US years ago before they had Hotels and it was an easy drive there from WDW but I hear even parking at US now is a Nightmare and expensive so moving is probably the way to go.

Thanks for the kind words. :) I'm sure we'll get over it eventually, but right now we're in a serious Disney addiction. The next frontier is Disneyland -- my wife went as a teen, but I haven't been there, so we're thinking maybe in 2014. Then of course there's Paris and Tokyo, but I don't see those in our foreseeable future!!

We haven't been nearly as many times as you :goodvibes but I think we are going to do DL next year, too. My DH is from California and I lived there for 7 years (San Diego) but we haven't been back since we moved out here almost ten years ago. I would like to do a few days at Disneyland and then my husband wants to do some stuff like national parks and the beach. So we'll see!

Wow - you're fast!! :)

We were never turned away from the monorail. I think I read somewhere that it can seat 1400 people. When it arrives, instead of heading in to a car right in front of you, try hanging a right and going toward the end of the monorail. We found that the last few cars were almost always empty and we could get a seat that way.

I think we have come to a compromise. We are only going to Universal for one day not two and we will stay at the Poly for one extra day. This way I am not just wandering around behind my guys for two days not being able to do much. The kids will also get their Universal fix.

.....Sigh...... I tried to add a day at the Polynesian and everything is booked for the 12th. Hoping for some pixie dust that that day opens up. I reeeeeeealy don't want to do two days at Universal yet I don't want to cut the trip short either.
