Has anyone heard anything else about the Volcano pool being closed 9/9-9/20? I'm still seeing it listed as a refurb on some sites.

I saw that too. I think Tikiman said on his website that the pool will no longer be closed in Sept, they are just going to wait until Jan to close it for major refurbishment.

I love Tokelau for a standard view room. There are some great ground level rooms on the west side (pool side) [snip]

Mr. Tikiman! If you are around....

Can you clarify something in regards to the above...your (awesome) website map shows Tokelau sitting between what you've labeled "East Pool Area" and "Garden Area".

Am I correct that "East Pool Area" is in fact the west side of the building, and faces the East Pool of the resort, and the "Garden Area" is the east side of the building?

Also, do you have a list of connecting rooms by building? Or at least Tokelau.

finally, if you are around the Poly 8/6-8/15 please let me know...would love to buy you a beer.

Damn, that would suck. I'm sure its cold for swimming January, but my 4 year old daughter is hard core about swimming and will be very disappointed if its closed.

When this happens to they allow you to go to other resorts for swimming?

Yes, they will give you access to the pool at the GF. They have a boat specifically for Poly guests that will take them to the GF.

Ok, please don't flame me for this - I have never been to the poly and I don't know what the culture is like there. Would it be entirely inappropriate of us to bring our three little girls to the beach in their pajamas to watch the fireworks/ electrical water parade? Normally this is not something I would consider but they'll probably be bathed already and need to get to sleep ASAP afterwards. (Unfortunately I don't think I can justify TPV to my husband : )

Count me in as saying no problem to kids in their pjs on the beach. Mine have been doing it too! This trip, my dd8 will still be in her jammies on the beach, but my ds is 12 now, so I'm guessing he won't be caught dead out there unless fully clothed (even though his pjs are just shorts/shirt!)

Kinda makes me sad that someone would think they would be flamed for a simple question. I guess maybe it happens on other boards but it bothers me that someone is afraid about asking about taking their little ones to the beach in their Pj's. Just a simple question and something that is perfectly fine to do. I guess I just feel sad that anyone has to fear posting on any thread on the Dis. One thing I have found especially on this board is that we all pitch in and help each other, everyone is nice, and everyone is super helpful.

ITA! Everyone on this thread is so nice and so helpful. Wish all the threads could have more of a positive tone. I see so many innocent questions getting jumped on all over. It's really sad, but I guess it's too be expected on a public forum.

In any case, TOMORROW!!!! We check-in at the Poly TOMORROW! Holy cow, where did the time go???!!! I've got so much to do to get ready and so little time!!! Our flight leaves at 6:30 tomorrow morning and I work till 4:30 today. Yikes!

.....Sigh...... I tried to add a day at the Polynesian and everything is booked for the 12th. Hoping for some pixie dust that that day opens up. I reeeeeeealy don't want to do two days at Universal yet I don't want to cut the trip short either.

I know your trip is very close, but keep checking because you never know when something might become available .

In any case, TOMORROW!!!! We check-in at the Poly TOMORROW! Holy cow, where did the time go???!!! I've got so much to do to get ready and so little time!!! Our flight leaves at 6:30 tomorrow morning and I work till 4:30 today. Yikes!

Yeah!! Have a great time--can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!!

Oh, and LOL. Our flight was at 7:30 am (airport's an hour away) and I worked all day the day before AND went to meet up with a friend in from out of town that evening. NEVER AGAIN

Yep, agreed. People come to the dis boards looking for answers. No one should feel intimidated about asking a question nor should they receive rude comments. As my mother use to tell me "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all."

How exciting!!!! Have a wonderful time!! This Thursday will be 5 wks, or 37 days to be exact, until we're there, not that I'm counting or keeping track.

I know what you mean about trying to "disconnect". Each time we go I make an effort to do that only to end up on FB or Dis Boards. This time I am going to remove those 2 apps from my main screen, might even delete them altogether until I get back home!!
